Traditionally, Libations is a great place to have a superb knockout drink made by highly skilled mixologists. So when we are in downtown Lee's Summit, we always hit Libations. We stop for a drink (or two) and sometimes make an evening of it because the music and atmosphere are so good. So imagine our surprise when we stopped in and ordered two drinks (Gin and Soda and an Old Fashion). The soda had very little Hendricks, and the Old Fashion was a short pour. They remade the Gin and Soda, but the result was the same. We will be back again because this place is too cool to leave after one challenging experience. We expect a bounce-back performance. The drinks aren't cheap, so expectations are high (and should be) as well. I'll let you know what happens on the next trip, and please understand that I still think this is an absolutely necessary stop-in spot! read more

Such an amazing place tucked away in the nostalgic Downtown Lee's Summit. We had 4 different drinks, some off of the Holiday Menu, some just their standard menu and all were amazing. The charcuterie for 2 was the perfect addition to the cocktails. And the servers, made great recommendations and were always available. read more

Would give a zero if I could... We made reservations for a party of 10. Showed up, waited five minutes for the party in front of us to be seated. He gave our tables to them because he said they only hold the tables for ten minutes. It was 8:12 when we walked up, and like I said, we waited for five minutes for him to seat the party in front of us in our reserved seats. He also was a huge jerk about it, and didn't even try to resolve the situation. To the response, you are a clown. You never offered to make an accommodation. Someone from our party came back in and you never offered anyone to try and find us a seat. You're in customer service industry. You said we didn't confirm, and then when we showed you the confirmation, you changed your answer to, "we only hold your reservation for 10 minutes." You made an error, and now you're trying to CYA. You turned away a party of 10 for a party of 7. So you lost money at the end of the day. We just found somewhere else to go, and do the same thing. read more

No rules or expectations were explained to us, yet the situation was handled in a rude way. If you're looking for a jazz bar, this is the place to check out. They have 2 levels but upper level has a jazz bar. You must make a rsvp ahead of time and there is a cost. Overpriced and underwhelmed. $24 for one of the worst long island iced teas I've ever had. My wife's was darker than mine, so obviously no consistency in drinks. A 16 oz. Glass (with ice). Finally had a reason to enjoy a cocktail here while in LS. My daughter and SIL celebrating their engagement, she made reservations on an early Sat night. Seated quickly and got our water as we took a gander at the menu. We loved the variety and how the menu was sectioned by spirits. My first drink had a good balance of tartness and sweetness, the Greyhound. I followed it with a Pickled Sriracha. I loved the pickled green beans as a garnish. We had several people bring our drinks and one of the bartenders came to our table and provide suggestions. My SIL's Big O' Fashioned was the best I have had. The flavors were melded very well and didn't taste like just a shot of whiskey like most. Loved the atmosphere and old style bar. read more

The cocktails were very well done down to the garnishes. Love trying new things as well because I know they will be done very well! Also I appreciated keeping the water going as well. I had the Manzana Rojo and I would definitely get this drink again. This was on the regular menu but they also had a seasonal drink menu. Service was quick and we did not have any wait. My wife gets the most adorable look on her face whenever I do anything that utterly baffles her., like spending $30 on two cocktails. As I left to meet a couple of friends at Libations & Co I was rewarded with that very look as I kissed her goodbye. The thing is, though, the drinks and ambience were wonderful. The menu is full of classic cocktails as well as some more modern concoctions. The red-hued atmosphere is inviting, comfortable and quiet. Had I been alone, I would've set to work on my next and first great novel while sipping on a Hemingway Special. As it was, we drank our Corpse Revivers and Sazeracs and soon we all agreed that when men who are brave and true look death squarely in the face, it is because they love with sufficient compassion to push death out of their minds. The server and mixologist, both super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, tactfully hid their eye rolls, which we appreciated. The only downside to the establishment was the wall of windows at the front. It gave a view to the busy street, a grim intruder of the retro mystique. So, if you like a good cocktail in a friendly and enchanting atmosphere, then I highly recommend Libations & Co. it ain't cheap, but you may find yourself on the NY Times best seller list. read more

Been there 3 x now and it is a very snobbish place. Love the drinks. Just don't get why a bar on a weekend you have to pay for and reserve even a bar stool. They don't allow anyone to just stand around you have to have a seat. It's a very stuffy place. Sadly won't be going back ever again and would not recommend to any of my friends. This place is pure *vibes*. Absolutely stunning interior, and adore the music. So, so good. The drinks were good, not great, and we had a corpse reviver #3 and a pineapple daiquiri, supposedly during happy hour, but each cocktail was $3 too high. Server was nice, but did not understand the happy hour and charged us too much. Also could not use our vanilla gift card, which was annoying but not a big deal. Upon entering, we were asked if we had a reservation. No. As he was trying to figure out where to put us, a group of 2 walked in, said hi, and went right on in. My sister asks if the live music upstairs is apart of Libations. He said " yes and it's open seating" . We went ahead and decided to just head upstairs and not deal w/ him trying to figure out where to put us, while others just walked in. We got upstairs & the waitress asks us if we had reservations. Lol. Of course, no. She then tells us, only seats are right upfront near the live music. A couple saw our group of 4, and were sweet enough to offer up their couch so we could be together & comfortable. Our drinks took 40 mins to receive. To make 3 drinks. We were absolutely pissed. I first went to Libations in Co on a dreary Saturday afternoon in the early spring. If you've been here, you know that the jazz music + rain + no cell phone policy is a whole experience. I wish there were more places like Libations and Co, but this business gets it right. The decor, drinks, music, and interior take you to another time. The drinks are strong, so you feel like you got your money's worst. There is little in the way of food, but I have had their charcuterie board, which was also tasty. A tad pricey, but worth it! I've heard they have live music nights upstairs but have yet to experience them. If you're looking for a fun, unique experience in 2024 and want to feel transported to 100 years ago, this is the most relaxed spot in DTLS. read more

Came here on a Friday night while bar hopping in downtown Lee's Summit. The atmosphere is great. I loved all the signs and vintage art on the wall. The drink menu was extensive and broken down by liquor. It was pretty much the classics, nothing terribly inventive or unique. Prices were comparable to other cocktail lounges. The drinks themselves were very tasty and a good presentation. The reason for the 2 stars is the service. It's absolutely terrible. We waited over 20 minutes from the time we sat down to the time we got our two drinks (an old fashioned and a gimlet). Each of these drinks as literally 3 ingredients in them. The waitress explained away the time that had passed by telling us it was because the cocktails were, "hand made". I get that draft cocktails take a little bit to put together and that this isn't your neighborhood bar and grill. But 20 minutes was ridiculous. I probably won't be back. Hopefully they get a bartender that can make drinks more efficiently as this is a nice element to the downtown Lee's Summit area. Otherwise I don't see it lasting. read more

Love the atmosphere, location and the back bar is beautiful! The menu is diverse, something for everyone. However, the service is lacking and left us with a bad taste in our mouths. We were seated for our Saturday night 6:15 reservation and brought water and menus by someone we assumed was our waiter. As we waited and waited, he just stood behind the bar chatting. Finally, we got his attention and he came to the table and said 'your waitress hasn't come by?' Seriously, do you have one waitress? This party of 4 ended up only ordering 2 drinks in our 2-hour time period and would have left a much higher tip with better service. I was actually really impressed with this fun little place! A friend and I went there for a quick drink and I had a Corpse Reviver. A fun drink that began back in the early 1900's and derives its name from supposedly being able to bring the dead back to life.....or at least a very hung over zombie. I typically don't care for this drink because it has either a quick spray of absinthe at the end of preparing the drink or a absinthe rinse before making it, but they make theirs without this! It was simply amazing and I was so glad to find one I could appreciate!! My friend had the gin and tonic and although I really wanted to try this I though wisely it would be for another day! Do not think this is the simple version you get at your local bar, but you'll have to go in to try it and see. Went to libations for the first time. Nice jazzy atmosphere-but very confusing online system. Thought I had a table for two reserved in upstairs music space but found out when I arrived and inquired that my reservation was for downstairs. Most staff were cordial, although they did appear to be overwhelmed. The music was fabulous! A seasoned artist/band by the name of Jlove band absolutely rocked the house. We made our reservation for the back bar and wasn't really loving the metal chairs and the stereo in our ears but we were able to move up to the regular bar.
