We have been here a number of times and it never fails to impress. You come in and the folks are friendly and make you smile. The whiskey selection is second to none and certainly impresses. They can't do a decaf chai. But I'm not going to count that against them, because everything we tried was BOMB. Weirdly, I love a good bathroom. If they paid attention to the decor, you know they pay attention to the little details. This one had neon signs over the urinal that said boys boys boys, a none sign over the traditional stool that said girls girls girls, and another sign over the mirror that said "we see what we want". Just yaaaas to all of it for me. Plus subway tiles? It gives. GIVES Joe was our server and was a delight and did a good job of answering all our questions. Loved the background information on the Picasso and Dali art, the marble from Turkey and the glass from a local bank. The drinks were stellar- we had the 19th century cocktail, the sangria, the New York mule, and the corpse reviver. Everything was stellar and super drinkable- highly recommend. We also got a burnt sugar bourbon and an Irish cream latte to go- they both had a generous amount of liquor and loved that we could walk around and check the shops downtown. The burnt sugar was less sweet than the Irish cream, but still had a nice complexity of flavor. Loved being able to get a liqueur latte to go and check out the other shops downtown. Very hip and cool bar for this area. Came here for New Year's and we enjoyed a seasonal liquor chai, which was very tasty and warm. The best part about this bar is their concoction with coffee/lattes. Why not? The bar tenders really seem to enjoy the bar and making sure people enjoy their drinks. The only downside is the price. The alcoholic lattes were expected at $8 since they were also 16 oz; however, the mojitos were $13! a bit much for something that as a little on the very light side. We came here on a late Friday night after leaving a vowel renewal. We didn't want to go home and they were open. I'm very happy that we stopped in. Our mixologist was Josh and he was very attentive, knowledgeable, and kind! The drink names are interesting and quite tasty! I ordered the deadly viper and loved it. My waitress was super friendly and helpful when I was checking out the menu. If you want a boozy drink, this is your place. After my first one, I could've been done, but I wanted to feel a certain way, so I decided to keep the party going. The Toki-Doli-Parton was a dream in both taste and look. I've never had a face in my drink, and I was totally obsessed with the artsy-ness of it all! This spot is small and intimate, which means seating is limited. We have been visiting the hand in Glove since it originally opened as well as throughout the Covid shut down. I will say that we have experienced a shift in experience from the bar staff. The original bartenders up to and including Blue Were very engaging and create a atmosphere that made you want to come back. The new bartenders create a feeling that you've entered somebody else's private event. If they are at all engaging it's because they've been drinking or they're void of a personality. They don't seem to deliver on the experience that you would expect from this far. The drinks, I always partake in the originals, are still nicely made. However I believe mines premade and on tap. With the enhancements made at Libations, which is right down the street, there truly is now an option for fine drinking in downtown Lees Summit. One of the best parts of this establishment is the open atmosphere and bright lighting and colors. It's fun to sit at the bar and see friends or people you know walked past. They do have seating outback on the patio which is a great way to sit with a large group of friends and have a cocktail. read more

I am always on the search for the best cortado and I have found it!! They make their own burnt sugar simple syrup so one time I had them make me a burnt sugar cortado and oh dear that was life changing! It is hands down my favorite cortado I've ever had and I've had them all over the world! I make special trips to Lee's Summit just to have one, it's worth it! It is kind of like a caramel coffee that is a little sweet, but not overly sweet. You can totally pick up the burnt sugar in the drink. It is so good and even though I'm sure they have some other amazing drinks, with and without alcohol, I just can't get past this one drink. Why mess with perfection?! I thoroughly enjoy the concept of boozy coffee or other cocktails that are challenging to find. My co-workers and I decided to meet up here one afternoon to work remote while enjoying a beverage or two. As soon as you step in, it feels very fancy yet modern with all of the white marbling and clean decor. It's not the largest space, but it's brightness makes it seem larger. Minus the long bar, there seems to be limited seating. We were lucky enough to grab a small "room" which is just a section with walls and slightly secluded from the rest of the shop. It was perfect for our group of 4 with all of our laptops, but I wouldn't regularly come here to work. The bartenders and service were decent, but nothing extravagant. The music selection on this particular day was more of a mariachi band flavor which worked, but confused me for this style of place. I really wanted chips and queso the whole time I was there ;). Again, this wasn't a bad thing at all, but more-so was just surprising for the vibe. As for the beverages I ordered, I was extremely happy with the Famous Pearl. I had another cold beverage but I can't remember for the life of me what it was called, but it was also delicious. Overall, I was pleased with our visit. Il start off with something positive the burnt brown sugar bourbon latte was great really enjoyed it and the inside was clean and really neat however let's get the the bad part and why I won't be coming back. The bartender (bald male) was extremely rude it was really loud in there and I don't have the best hearing he said something to me and I said I didn't hear him and he repeated himself in a snotty manner and then followed up with the comment " I try to make things reallly simple" and then he said something to my gf who wasn't even standing close and she obviously couldn't hear him and I asked what he said so I could ask her and he said to me "I was talking to her not you" I couldn't believe it the man saw me walk in with he as he greeted us and I was holding her hand. Drink was great but get a new bartender I know bar tending can be a rough job however customer service is your business and if I'm paying almost 20 dollars for two drinks I expect to be addressed with the most minimal amount of respect I was nice to the guy and he snaps at me like that. I have enjoyed Hand in Glove a couple times now and it has been nothing short of impressive both times. Despite some complaints about the sun being bright , the décor is this hybrid of vintage modernism that I really enjoy. I am a fan of the upscale cocktail bars, but I do not enjoy the exclusivity that some of these "speakeasys" are trying to establish, so this works great for me. On both visits, I didn't see anything that caught my eye on the menu so I ordered "custom" cocktails, and both times with 2 different bartenders, they did an excellent job! I tried my first negroni and it was great. Very bitter at first, but I found myself still thinking about it a couple days later. I also enjoyed chatting with Landon about some other cocktails I look forward to trying in the future.
