When we walked over, the bartender wasn't very welcoming and immediately told us kids couldn't sit there, but the manager and hostess reassured us that we were fine. Unfortunately, the bartender's vibe felt off for the rest of our visit. I ordered a Mai Tai, which was pretty good , i didn't order any food this visit but i have had food at this location and it's very good especially the bbq Mac & cheese. We stop for a drink (or two) and sometimes make an evening of it because the music and atmosphere are so good. So imagine our surprise when we stopped in and ordered two drinks (Gin and Soda and an Old Fashion). The soda had very little Hendricks, and the Old Fashion was a short pour. They remade the Gin and Soda, but the result was the same. We will be back again because this place is too cool to leave after one challenging experience. We expect a bounce-back performance. The drinks aren't cheap, so expectations are high (and should be) as well. I'll let you know what happens on the next trip, and please understand that I still think this is an absolutely necessary stop-in spot!

The holy trinity or mind, body, spirit connection! We stumbled upon the brewery by stopping by the Lota Bait store, which is also fun, and noticed their name listed. All we had to do was walk behind and sitting on a nice piece of land with shade trees, picnic tables, lots of chairs, fire pit and a stage for music was heaven. There's a pick up window for your beverage orders or you can go inside for their home brew, seltzers and cocktails made with Tom's Town Distilling spirits. That morning they were making homemade waffles, plain or with bananas and walnuts, one of each please, and their utensils came wrapped and are compostable. Can't wait to spend an evening there after having fun on Lake Lotawana or if you live close enough you're lucky. This place is sweet!

There is a story for much of the art work which I will not do a disservice by trying put it in a review. Go there, see it and ask they'll gladly share the story. Second, INCREDIBLE beers are on tap. I tasted 10 during my visit and every single beer was worth trying. My faves were: Freshly Squeezed Blueberry Lemonade Wheat, Apple Pie Milkshake IPA and Calliope Caramel Cream Ale. Finally, the most important part of the operation is the people. Every single person that was present made me feel welcome and like I was already a part of their community. WOW, I was left feeling like I'd made new friends which I know I did. I travel to KC at least once per year and every year I will return to support this awesome brewery.
