The vibe at Cheval is unmatched for a cute cocktail bar experience! They have very unique drink combinations and it is always decorated so cute inside. It is a small area, but you can usually find seating relatively easy since people are popping in & out. The semester at sea drink was very yummy and balanced! This is one of my friend and I's go-to spots for pre or post-dinner cocktails. They have a rotating menu with some seasonal drinks as well.
We had a great time and the service was wonderful from the time we called to let them know we were coming until we left. Tommy was great and I didn't catch the other guys name but he was funny and nice and took photos with us. It's so cute inside and the perfect spot for a small girls night, date night, or maybe even for a private event. My friend ordered the popcorn and they enjoyed it. I don't eat popcorn so I can't tell you. I will be back.

We really enjoyed the chocolate ganache dessert! They also have a fantastic $10 cocktail menu, which is hard to find these days at nice cocktail lounges! What a unique atmosphere to grab a drink before you have dinner. It's a very intimate setting. I suggest getting there early but absolutely worth it. Highly recommend the macaroons with a glass of prosecco. The service was friendly and went above and beyond.
We came here for a nightcap after dinner and loved it. It's super cozy, with comfy chairs, a beautiful chandelier hangs above the bar, excellent service and really good drinks. The interior is French-inspired and beautiful. Definitely recommend.
Cheval is across the street from tailleur and provided the perfect spot for pre dinner cocktails. Reservations are essential. I loved the holiday themed drinks with names to match holiday movies like die hard, Christmas Vacation, The Elf and more. The drinks were very well executed, the staff knowledgeable and provided great suggestions. The holiday decor was fun too.
I just went to Cheval for their holiday bar. I had the Buddy the Elf, which was yummy. We also shared the charcuterie and rye bread appetizers. It was definitely a cute seasonal atmosphere and the way the drinks were served was fun. I will say, it was a bit slow. The servers were VERY nice, but they were definitely understaffed. So, just be prepared. I would try Cheval again for sure -- in fact, I can't wait to try their regular menu, as there were several items that looked intriguing!
This place is so gorgeous, the ambiance is amazing. Same owners as Taileur so I knew it was going to be a good vibe. The service was great, we were well taken care of and even given free champagne. The one thing that just holds me back from 5 stars is that the drinks just weren't stellar. They weren't bad, but not worth $15 in my opinion. I did the Salt & Pepper martini and it not being in a martini glass threw me off and then it was just okay. My sister ordered their "surprise drink" and it ended up being a type of Manhattan that just tasted very watered down. They have a new menu coming soon so I'll be back to try it.
Stopped in after our dinner reservation was late across the street. We got window facing seats to do some people watching. The atmosphere was cozy with limited seating. The drinks were good, I got a bartenders pick. I know it had some gin and bubbles.
Cheval had been on my list for a long time so when I was invited to a happy hour there over the holidays I jumped at the chance to experience this cozy bar. It's located along main st so you'll want to plan for the traffic with all the construction, but we had no issues finding street parking nearby. As far as holiday bars go, they were all decked out and only required a small deposit to reserve our table which I thought was super reasonable. Some pop up bars these days around the holidays go nuts with 20-30 dollar covers so it was nice to have that ambiance without the massive overhead. Now the space is small, and our group was around six people, so we took the main table in the middle, which I think sort of took away from the whole vibe as I think to really enjoy this intimate space you'd have more fun nestled into one of the smaller tables along the side of the bar with a date. The bar was full, as it was the holidays and the drink I had was superb. It did take a while for cocktails to come out though, which in the end made it so I only had time to enjoy one. Would I return? Absolutely! I'd probably go with a smaller group though and on a night when I had more time to soak it all in.
I showed up on a Wednesday evening and Eric the bartender proceeded to make my entire evening a delight with his creativity, kindness, and conversation! He made several fantastic mezcal drinks and discussed some of the experimental cocktails he was making as well. Every person who came in was warmly greeted and every drink was absolutely delicious! Beautiful small industrial Victorian type chic place. Must try their cocktails! They also have a wine list and some food items like smoked salmon and charcuterie.
Quaint, European, good vibes, and cozy. What more could you want? Full bar, so even if you don't find something on their menu, you can ask for them to make you something else. Wait staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Treat yourself at Tailleur and then head over here for a cocktail. It's literally across the street.
I stepped into a Paris parlor. The doors open and small chandeliers are placed on the ceiling. The vibe is not hole in wall or pub. The vibe is a Paris street at dusk. The tables, black with black booths. French movie posters with beautiful frames line the wall. It is the most comfortable "bar" I've ever visited. The menu, affordable hand crafted drinks. The owner explained that menu choices are made together and the menu varies. The drinks cost 5$-14$. Other places with hand crafted drinks are 18$. Cheval serves only drinks. It's not a bar to drink a bunch of shots. It's a place to order a drink, and comfortably talk or reflect. I had Islands In The Stream. It is a strawberry drink with hints of watermelon. It was refreshing to sip and talk. For this, everything is perfection. But wait, use the bathroom. It's the cutest little parlor you've ever seen. read more
We popped in here before having dinner in the area. It was a Saturday around 6 and there were about two places left for us two to sit. We ordered two drinks and a whipped Brie appetizer with caramelized onions. Both of our drinks were very tasty (mine was the bartenders choice). The appetizer was very large for just us two so I recommend knowing that when ordering. The ambiance was so visually appealing and a great spot for a date night. The tables are seated fairly closely next to each other but that didn't really bother us. Will definitely be back! read more

This is an ambient cocktail bar located in Westport. We've been multiple times for a happy hour or drinks on a date night. They recently added mocktail options. Keep in mind, it's first come, first serve, so for best luck at seating try to go during a non-busy time or you might have to wait. The team that works here is always friendly and provide quick service. read more
Ran by this cute little cocktail bar after an event Saturday. The place was very elegant and romantic. The bartender offered to make anything we would like based off our favorite flavors. I recommend you go by and try a beverage you won't be disappointed. read more
What a fun spot. We got here when it opened and were just one of two couples, but we had the best time. The street car development is making quite the challenge for parking etc...but this place was awesome. The vibe is chill and the decor is artsy and historic. From comfy chairs, to booths, or window seats, there wasn't a bad spot in the place to chat and have a cocktail. My drink was delicious, the espresso martini was one of the best I've had, and the service was incredible. read more

Stunning place! Love the interiors and cozy intimate vibe of this cocktail lounge. The drinks are unique and perfectly balanced. I've been for their normal menu but also their special Holiday pop up Bon Noel. Make sure and take a trip across the street to Tailleur for dinner afterwards! read more

Just a quick little shout out to this charming little cocktail lounge. We were dining at Tallier and were encouraged to visit their newly opened spot across the street. As Tallier doesn't really have a bar area, Cheval is a genius way to remedy that, either before or after your dining reservation or just on it's own. They do have some gorgeous craft cocktail options, a few small bites choices, and a couple dessert items as well as a nice wine menu. Happy to see this new addition to Main Street! read more

Ready to go back! My husband and I went for drinks and a snack before our dinner reservation at Tailleur around 5:30pm on a Friday. Plenty of seating and waitstaff was responsive. I wasn't expecting much from the meat and cheese plate but wow. It blew us both away! Our drinks were incredible. We will absolutely be back! read more
Stopped in for a cocktail with girlfriends before our dinner reservation at Tailleur (which doesn't have a bar). The ambience is quite lovely and our server was great. The best part - my drink was ah-maze-ing! A Little R&R is now one of my favorite drinks. After dinner, we went back for another - and we'll definitely go back next time we're in KC. read more

Grabbed a drink at cheval before our anniversary dinner. We went at happy hour time on a Friday and we were the only ones there for most of the time. Service was fantastic - the bartender explained the menu, made good suggestions and happily answered our questions. I ordered a watermelon drink and my husband ordered a whiskey drink. Both were good. Also, the decor is adorable! I enjoyed looking around the bar at all the things while we enjoyed our drinks. read more
Beautiful, cozy/ small cocktail bar. We pretty much ordered about all the cocktails on the menu between the time we sat down until the time we left (5-9pm). The service was superb and they even gave us a drink on the house. I would say the night started slow but as it got later the place was packed and there was no place to sit for new comers. They have a couple choices for finger food options to nibble on while your drinking. Overall a very lovely bar! My husband and I had been anticipating the opening of this cocktail bar for several weeks. We were so excited to get a couple spots right up at the bar on opening night. It's right across the street from one of our other favorite restaurants, Tailleur, and also their sister restaurant. The decor was so lovely and interesting! There was a huge chandelier hanging from the ceiling, mirrors behind the bar and beautiful old lamps and vintage seating everywhere. It was very cozy with the low lighting and great playlist. The bartenders were attentive to all that we needed. The cocktails were fantastic and inventive. We will definitely be returning for more memorable evenings! read more

We love love this new drink spot on Main! The drinks are amazing and delicious! Bartender/manager Eric is more than hospitable. We're chatting up on everything and anything. The bar itself is decorated with so many fun details. If you're looking for a chill and non pretentious vibe, this is your spot. Parking can be tricky though, so look for the parking lot behind their building (The Redeemer). It's a drive for us from Overland Park, but it was worth the drive. We're looking forward to come back in the fall and try out their restaurant across the street as well! read more
