This place is very cute! I had a hugo spritz and it was perfectly balanced. The ambiance was very cute & they have pool tables for late-night entertainment as well. The bartenders were very friendly and even let us sample their local beers on tap!

Definitely dive style, lots of room for groups, everyone moves out fairly quickly so not standing for long for a seat. 2 Gender neutral bathrooms. Had plastic cups by the water coolers so you don't have to stand in line to hydrate. Four bartenders on a Friday night made ordering drinks and closing tabs fairly easy. Had small food plates, very "girl dinner" esc..drinks were large portions. Younger crowd majority of the time. Had a Photo Booth for 7$ inside. Entrance in the back of the building

I was excited about this place. I met my friends here on a Friday late afternoon. It was hard to find, I had to ask a lady walking if she knew where it was. It's kinda hidden on the backside of the building, so when my GPS said I had arrived, I hadn't. There are several stairs you have to walk down, there is a sign saying they can accommodate ADA but I didn't see how. The area is large and there is a nice sized bar, a pool table, couches, table and chairs , and 3 Tvs. I got an old fashioned and Chicago dawg. The drink was$13, it wa made well and quickly. The hot dog is big, the toppings were blended, not really if fan of it but I guess it's easier that way. It would have been nice if chips or fries or another side was available. This place has potential. I like the open space and all 3 tvs had something different on. They also offer other drinks not on the menu like white claws, surfsides, etc. I will come back another time to check it out again.

The address is Broadway, but the entrance is in the back alley and then down a flight of stairs into the basement of the old Carnival building built in 1903.

There's two levels of entertainment. The service was friendly. Only thing is that they don't have food so eat beforehand. There was a hummus plate and some desserts. We had soooo much fun. Even walking in, we weren't quite sure what to expect. The entrance is small, and you're greeted right away, which was a nice touch. Once inside, it's very dark with deep red lighting--almost like stepping into a cave. It took a moment for our eyes to adjust, but once they did, we immediately felt at ease. The space is cozy and perfectly aligned with its purpose: it's all about the jazz. The service was great--welcoming, attentive, and added to the overall experience without taking away from the music. And the music? Absolutely captivating. It pulls you in and transports you--you can't help but settle into the vibe and just enjoy the moment together. We went on a Monday, so there was plenty of seating, but I noticed there's also a lower level that likely accommodates larger weekend crowds. There's a solid drink menu and a small selection of food, but honestly, this isn't the place you come for a full meal. Come for the drinks, stay for the music, and soak in the atmosphere.

We encountered a lovely bartender by the name of Jennifer, who was super kind and helped us do a little tasting of some different spirits we were interested in. And she crafted our usual cocktails deftly. She even gave us a tip on how to get into another restaurant that we wanted to snag a reservation for. Jennifer's great service was appreciated and very well regarded by my wife and me. We look forward to another good afternoon or evening at the Drum Room soon.

We were part of the Educational Testing Service AP Readers who have come to K.C. for the last 3 years. We came to the Drum Room Lounge for drinks after a a hard day. We were drawn to it v because of its history. It turned out to be a terrible experience. Your bartender there, was terribly rude and unprofessional. When our people arrived it took her 20 minutes to come to get our orders, eventhough there was no one in the bar but us. She took our order and then it took her 30 more minutes for het to bring over 4 of the 6 drinks ordered. One of our party commented to the person sitting next to her that this bartender was very slow. Apparently she heard this and as the person was tasting her drink, your bartender took it away from her. I tried to get my drink and I was ignored. I tried 3 time s to get ky drink and was not served. Then when we decided we weren't going to be served and one of our group heard your bartender say good luck them being served she refused to give the person paying for the drinks a receipt. This behavior was unprofessional at best and it ruined a night thah could have been great.

A small table opened up, so we all squeezed in and had a blast. You can order food from the Disco Burger outside from your phone or walk up to the truck as well. I was super surprised how much I liked the burger. I could compare it to a less greasy version of town topic. Delicious. Our waitress was awesome and we were all matching drinks, so we got some high life, mystery tall boys, and she loved it. The stone walls and disco ball combo was awesome and I hope to be back in to check out some cocktails as well.

All of that being stated, despite the heat, the Varsity Club patio is awesome. There are plenty of picnic tables, it's kid friendly (at least during dinner), and they have some great happy hour specials. I loved that even outside you get table service, the staff was SO kind even though we were just there for happy hour on the patio, and they offer water you can pour yourself near the door. I loved also that many of their cocktails come in a cute branded plastic cup that's better for outdoors, and was fun for my kiddo to enjoy her kids drink out of without me worrying about her breaking glass. I honestly can't wait to return once it cools down.
