Perfect Hang Out Pub In the very heart of downtown Lee's Summit sits Brick's. It doesn't have a gourmet menu or a high class clientele, but it does have an honest neighborhood vibe. Should you be looking for glitz and glamor just go across 3rd Street to 3rd Street Social and you'll be fine. But if you want a more relaxed evening with regular folk for a beer and a burger, Brick's might be your place. There is nothing wrong with tailoring your expectations. As expected, there is no private lot, but downtown Lee's Summit is best enjoyed strolling its shop filed streets, after finding that elusive parking spot. Should you require a handicap space there is one right at their front door! The decor is an honest neighborhood bar feel, usually filled with a high percentage of regulars - the must be coming back for a reason! The staff is very friendly and helpful. Drinks and food (apps and handhelds) are affordable. In fact you can pile up your hot dog into a serious chili dog at no additional cost (but a great deal of added enjoyment). Entertainment is as expected with trivia nights and such, but also the only cigar night in town on their patio one night a week. We were here to see the M-80s band that was playing here. Kind of surprised they are playing here. This place seem like a small venue and a dive. Located in downtown Lees Summit. They have an outdoor space. Not too many seating. But great stage for the band and room to dance. Full bar and restroom inside the bar. We did not have food here. Service was good. read more

Great Pub. We came in around 7 on a Saturday, rather quiet for a pub and had all the games on. The service was 5 stars, our server was amazing and so quick with orders, drinks and food. The food was very good, I had the kicking parm sauce and it was so unique. Location wise, Brick's Pub & Grub, has some prime real estate right on the main strip of historic downtown Lee's Summit. Walking in, the joint looks like a cool place to hang out with high ceilings, plenty of exposed brick, and TVs in every corner. At night, when the drinks are flowing and the live music is thumping, that may very well be the case. However, it was lunch time (12pm) and the place was dead, but more people showed up and soon there were about 6 occupied tables with 3 more people at the bar. More surprisingly for the lunch hour, there was only one waitress working the bar, restaurant and take-out counter. This made the service a little slow and inattentive, but she was friendly and truly working her butt off. I ordered the Chicken Salad. It came on a fresh, light, fluffy, tasty croissant, but the rest of the sandwich was just ok without much flavor. The chicken didn't taste much better than a pouch of Starkist Chicken Creations you find at the grocery store, but it was at least dressed up with some special extras like apples, walnuts and onions. Still, I didn't bother finishing it. The fries were crisp, well seasoned and delightfully decent enough to salvage the meal - even without a drink refill. All in all, for a place that touts they're "just a touch above average", I found them to be just another "brick" in the wall with semi-average food. read more

Popped in for lunch with my daughter today! We started with the pretzels and beer cheese as an app, and they were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft of the inside- definite win :) We were also pleased with how many choices were on the menu! I had the turkey club sandwich and loved it, she has the chicken salad sandwich and gave it a 3/5. The only part we were kind of disappointed in were the fries...we were hoping for a hand-cut type fry, but they serve a spiral seasoned fry reminiscent of the frozen kind you can buy. Few good places for something as simple as a hot dog and beer. They have lots of other really good food there, but for me a hot dog done right can't be beat. I know they are supposed to be bad for you but I embarrassing ordered cottage cheese with mine to be healthy of course. The bartender didn't even bat an eye and mercifully replied "OK". Lots of toppings to go on the dog in a lightly toasted fresh bun. Stuck to my melted beer cheese, jalapeño and pickle combination and never looked back. Good bar, lots of seating and good staff. You'll like it as much as I do. Been there a couple of times before and found this place is very consistent in quality of food and especially service. It has a family quality to it. My wife and I came here on a Saturday for lunch. The restaurant was about half full so not too busy. We ordered the Sriracha chicken wings for an appetizer and the seasoning was great... The chicken wings were Cooked through but lukewarm. Wife had the hotdog with a side Caesar salad... Hot dog was lukewarm, side salad was a typical iceberg lettuce salad. I had the Bacon cheeseburger and side salad...Think McDonald's patty but lukewarm... are you seeing a theme here? Overall very disappointing. It took quite a while to get our food which is probably why everything was lukewarm, probably sat in the kitchen waiting to be delivered. My family and I went here for an impromptu dinner date. We thought it'd be a good time because they were having a music trivia night. The atmosphere was pretty cool when we came in. There was a bar (obviously), elevated chairs, and booths. We found a booth and received pretty quick service, but when the servers came up (one server was in training), they very quickly told us the kitchen was closing and we needed to order. I knew what I wanted, but my family did not, and I still wanted to make a drink choice. I will mention what is online is very different from what is in person, from the drink choices to the hours. The servers loomed over us intensely--and I get it, the kitchen was closing--but the energy was very rushed and intense. Really enjoyed the music trivia and the vast array of music that played, and the servers were nice, just really intense at the beginning. But the food was mid, the drink I ordered was not great, the shots were really good, but I ordered 4 and only received 2, so was sad about that until I got the bill, which felt overpriced for the experience. Would I go back for a quick drink and to have a good time with friends or by myself? Yeah. Would I go back for dinner? Probably not. Plan to go back for karaoke by myself and may edit this after having a second experience. read more

We have eaten here several times. We always dined in and we have enjoyed every visit. This is not your ordinary bar food. Everything is fresh and there is a great variety to choose from. From the bar, I personally love their Bloody Mary! Due to Covid-19 we wanted to find local take-out and Brick's has it going. Everything is set up for a safe social dIstance pick up. We keep waiting for a good restaurant in down town Lee's Summit and we keep getting disappointed. There is no kid's menu so they recommend ordering a $7 hot dog for a 3 year old. The menu is very limited. Hamburgers, hot dogs and some appetizers. My husband ordered grilled chicken nachos and the chicken looked like it was baked 2 days prior with no flavor, the cheese looked like can cheese and there was absolutely no flavor. Service was mediocre, at best. We had to ask for napkins & silverware, ask 2 times for appetizer plates, food took longer than it should to come out. $45 for a 3 small appetizers and a pint beer (with tip). All the TVs are on one wall so everyone has to stare at one wall, which makes watching a game and having conversations challenging. So it was around midnight, me and my buddies go to this bar to have more of a relaxed setting. Ive already ordered a couple drinks and as it's getting closer to the end of our expeditions. I decide to grab a shot for my buddy and me. As I'm about to pay for the drinks, another one of my friends ask if I could get him a shot. I said sure, so I pay for my drinks, not tipping this time considering I'm getting another shot literally 15 seconds afterwards. This female bartender decided to give me attitude and be completely disrespectful towards me. Not taking into consideration the fact I have only been buying from her and tipping her every time. I get the ticket for the other shot, as you probably could have guessed, I did not tip her. And what proceeds to happen next was just unnecessary. She decides to yell in front of the entire bar that I'm a liar and does not tip. She then decides to go to every bartender telling them not to serve me for the remainder of the night. At this point I don't really care because I was about to leave anyways. I go to where my friends are standing to tell then what happened. This male bartender yells across the bar telling me to stop talking sh*t. I'm looking at him and my friends completely bamboozled about what's going on. At this point I've held my composure but I eventually lost it when they proceeded to bug me about. I told him that this female bartender was being rude and a bit*h. I don't like using that word to describe a women but at that point time, I felt it described her pretty well. They call the bouncers to kick me out and I left. I'm a college student so I occasionally partake in drinking every now and then. Back at school drinks are cheaper so I can afford to tip more. At this location they are more expensive so I tend to not tip as much. I'm broke, taking out loans, working part time, and going to school full time. So kill me for not tipping one time or not giving a $5 tip for a $12 shot. Overall, I enjoy the setting at this bar but will never be going back giving the actions of some of their employees. read more

Loved the pretzel & beer cheese so much that we ordered a second b/c we weren't planning on anything else, but when I told her how I love the Brisco Melt, we decided to split one. I will NEVER visit this establishment ever again. Sat at the bar and Madison was my bartender. I ordered nacho fries and they brought them back out and Madison quickly told them to take it back into the kitchen. I wasn't sure of the reason. As the food arrived to my table, I noticed that it was missing some of the things I requested and the portion size for $13 was not acceptable. I told Madison that I did not want to eat the fries and she stated "Well I'm not taking it off of your bill!" She began to get very aggressive and stated that "I was too broke to pay for it in the first place!" I've been a Lee's Summit resident for over 15 years and wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. Please reconsider before doing business here. Brick's is a bit of an enigma for me. I've been here with really good service and had a great time, but I've also experienced the other end of the spectrum. I have not eaten here much honestly, the menu is very generic and basic. On my last visit I asked the bartender what they do that I can't get anywhere else, she said "wings." Really? The Peanut is 100 yards away. They have really tasty Bloody Mary's and a great tap selection with $3 draws during Happy Hour. All the HH food however just looks like frozen, boxed stuff that is fried. I'd love to know what they do well foodwise here and I'll give it a shot, but looks like the typical bar food. read more

Brick's Pub and Grub is my favorite go-to in downtown Lee's Summit! The service is always friendly and fast - even when they are packed. It's nice to visit a business where you are treated as part of the family and called by name. So service is great, but the food? Excellent. My favorites are the chicken nachos, flatbread pizzas, and the chicken salad sandwich is the best I've ever had! My friends love the Cuban sandwich and pulled pork sandwich. The grub part of Brick's is stellar, but now let me cover the Pub part.... 33 beers on draft?! Infused cocktails?! Monthly beer tastings?! It really doesn't get any better than that, folks! Lastly, the line up of fun events makes Brick's the best downtown gathering place you could ever want! The people of Lee's Summit voted Brick's as the best bar in town in November, 2016 as reported by the Lee's Summit Journal. I attribute the prestige to the monthly beer tastings, trivia night, karaoke, fundraising events for local charities and DJ'ing. You won't be sorry if you stop in here! :) read more

Pros: I like the atmosphere, it gives you a real brew pub type feel. The brick walls, steel furniture, exposed HVAC and open layout is nice. Lots of beer on tap is always a plus. A little better selection with what beers are chosen for the tap would put it over the top. Cons: You can't spend more than a few minutes in here without smelling like a deep fryer. I don't know if it's the ventilation or what, but it smells like I am sitting in the kitchen right next to the fryer. I ordered a Deschutes Nitro Obsidian Stout and was poured some type of XPA. When I informed the waiter, he had no idea the difference between a Pale Ale and a stout, said he hadn't gone through training yet (why are people working without training?) he was saved by the fact he was humble and could pour me a Fresh Squeezed to make up for it. I also went here expecting to eat some food with my beer (it is called pub and GRUB after all). I was unpleasantly surprised by the fact the only menu they had was a table topper with about 5 appetizers, none of which sounded all that appealing. This was disappointing. I probably won't go back because the fryer smell is overwhelming, the staff don't know their beer despite it being a place centered around beer, and there is nothing to eat there. It seems like a cool place to hang out, but with a super basic menu, there would be no reason to. Not to be harsh, but I've had better getting fast food. There are no burgers on the menu, only a "build-your own"..e.i. lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. Very basic. I tried out the brisko-melt and chicken sandwich. The fries were awesome, but the chicken was just two chicken strips on hostess bread and the brisko melt was just a burger, cheese and bread -- no sauce/seasoning on either. Cons: -Music is to loud for a bar so small with no dance floor. -Music was crazy diverse, they clearly have no target audience. -Wait staff is not familiar with the idea of people just coming in to watch the game. -Poor food selection. -Bathrooms for only one at a time. Ultimately I was hoping for a place that was out to do something different. But they fall right in line with Mingle, The Peanut and Stueys - except I would gladly eat from any of those kitchens.
