The jalapeno popper burger is in the top three of burgers I've ever had. The sweet potato fries were good, but the aoli they serve with them was not to my preference. That burger, though...it's veen over 24 hours and I'm still drooling a little. Our server hardly spoke to us, which was odd as the music was quiet and they weren't busy. Maybe because we ordered a meal to share and no beer? It's just what we do, so we can have dessert. Haha! But we tipped 50%,because that is also what we do. I don't usually travel this far south but I helped my friend move and I'm glad I did. I got to stop in this local restaurant and bar and it was awesome! It has a small town feel but definitely where the locals go which is cool to see. The food quantity was large and piping fresh and hot while the beer was ice cold (colder than most places which is top notch!). You can tell they do a good job with the beer lines because it taste great. Our waitress was really nice and helpful as well! They have lots of different choices of fries and I got to try a little bit of all of them from my order and my friends orders and it's hard to choose!! We had burgers and fried pork tenderloin. We have fairly recently found this place even though we've known about it for years & we love it! Every Thursday night they have Taco Thursday & they are $1.50 each which includes their homemade mild salsa & Lava salsa. They are fantastic along with other Mexican dishes to choose from! The next runner up is their Froggy Fries! I like the crunchy crinkle fries that are topped with cheese, onion, bacon, and drizzled with thousand island dressing. Trust me the thousand island really works! If you want, you can have the froggy fries with regular fries, tater tots or waffle fries. I've had the BLTC and it was really good! My son had the burger said it was good and my husband had the chicken Philly cheesesteak and said it was also really good. Oh and a while back they sold so the building became a non-smoking restaurant now which is great! Go give this great local spot a try! read more

The terriaki/soy sauce was very sweet and the chicken itself had an odd taste. I had the patty melt with no onions. It tasted okay. It had a DEFINITE onion taste that was not too good. We think the odd tastes could be from the grill not being cleaned properly. The waffle fries were hot, crisp and well seasoned. Overall For a pub - it's okay. Not the best and by far, not the worse. I moved to Peculiar over 2 years ago and this place was the best back then. Nice staff, strong drinks, decent prices. But the last 3-4 times we have gone in, we had a different waitress every time. They were rude, unprofessional, and generally appeared like they didn't want to be there. The last 2 times I've gone in, I've had to walk up to the bar to get another drink because our waitress was too busy hanging out behind the bar and talking with the bartenders to come check on us. I like the food and always enjoyed the atmosphere but not anymore. It's not the same anymore. I would rather drive to belton than continue to get this type of service. read more

Our server was Christina and she was amazing! We came in during lunch and it was quiet and slow. She took great care of us and made sure everything went best it could. The food was outstanding! I love the environment and one of the waitresses is really sweet. Unfortunately the waitress we had was very inattentive. We were there from about 11am to 3pm and she never once came by to ask if we needed anything. We had to go to the bar to ask for anything that we needed. Our tabs were rang up completely wrong and when I asked about it she got an attitude and insisted that i had more drinks than I really did. We watched her go around and fill everyone's water cups but never once came by to full ours until we asked. The other waitress had to tell her to give us our check because she wouldn't come by our table. The food wasn't horrible but not the best. I will go back because I like the environment and prices but I won't let this waitress "serve me" ever again. read more
