If you love Riesling wine you have to try their Coconut Riesling made only for this amazing spot by their neighborhood winery mercantile!!! My husband is an old fashion kind of guy, if you are one or your partner is one, ask for the "the Buff" we created the name for the old fashion that the bartender Buff do, is amazing and I can assure you, you'll drink couple of them! Stopped in on a Monday afternoon and it was exactly the vibe we wanted. Nice and cool on a summer day. We had the rise and shine burger and ranchers wrap. The portions were generous and it all tasted delicious. Staff were very nice and the bathroom was very clean. read more

Fun little spot tucked just around the corner from the square. Came for happy hour with friends. When you walk in there are some brighter tables and a jukebox, or you can go around the corner to the darkened moody bar. Speakeasy like! Good selection of wines and beers on happy hour and some fun appetizers too. I had the Ace pineapple hard cider and a platter of burnt end nachos.. delicious! My friends enjoyed a half price bottle of Moscato and the spinach artichoke dip. Great place to hang out and the service was attentive. read more

On our way to southern Missouri and stopped in for lunch. Menu options were burgers, chicken, flatbread, and salads. Several appetizers to choose from, including bacon wrapped shrimp, pretzel bites, and ahi tuna. Service was A+, and the food was surprisingly phenomenal. We had bar food expectations, but it was really, really good. Pricing was good, maybe a bit high for a small town, but worth every penny. We'll be back, it's worth the drive. read more

Came here to get a quick bit to eat and was very happy with the flavor and quality of our food. Great ambiance for sports games, parties, or just even hanging out. We loved the adult Mac n cheese with burnt ends and nachos with burnt ends. Service can be slower when a game is going but staff was friendly and made it a great experience. Hidden in Harrisonville We just happened to be in Harrisonville around noon yeasterday and The 1886 was recommended by local friends. About a half block off the Historic Courthouse Square, at 206 S Independence St., it is hidden among the antique shops in the area. You will need to watch closely for the address, but it will be worth your effort. Street parking is available across the street and a public lot is handy. Coming through the door one is treated the historic feel of a rustic pub. Very comfortable and inviting. Along with ample seating and standing area in the bar, there are a few tables in vestibule should you want enjoy a bit of sunshine with your meal. The full bar appears to be well stocked to cover the usual drink orders, along with their list of signature cocktails, wines, and beers. And judging from their appetizer menu, this should be a great place for happy hour. It being lunch time we went for their Flatbreads and a bowl of chips. I do recommend their Steak Flatbread and their Mediterranean Flatbread. The flavors mix well and enhance each other. The service was friendly and efficient. Prices are reasonable (we got out for just over $30 including tip). All in all, The 1886 is a great alternative to the corporate fast food places around town. One should not have to be rushed when you want to have a relaxing meal. I know that we will be back read more

Had a quick visit this morning in Harrisonville with a realtor (yes, on Sunday New Year's Eve!) and were looking for something open for lunch on a Sunday holiday weekend. After a couple of attempts we tried 1886 and so glad we did! They were shorthanded at opening, just the bartender/manager and cook as the shift servers had just called out. Nonetheless everything ordered was stellar. Independence Burger (8 oz beef patties with burnt ends BBQ sauce and gouda cheese), Reuben sandwich, burnt ends mac n'cheese, pretzel bites....all very good even though we were the first in after opening. The bar/eating area ambience is unique and old-school (1886 designates the year the original building was erected) and very clean. Simply an excellent job all-around (especially considering the circumstances). 1886 will be our go-to in the 3/4 times a year we visit Harrisonville going forward. read more

The food was average, prices were 15-20% above the quality of my food ($5.50) side salad. The French dip bun was microwaved and tough, prime rib meat was overcooked. Had an absolutely great experience the first couple of times I went here, went on the weekend when it was still busy. The food was great, the service, she was great, beside the wait on food, everything was awesome and would love to go back. After my visit today, I will never visit this restaurant again. I'm very patient and NEVER complain bc I've been in the industry for 20+ years. But when ur done trying your hardest to give great service 60 hours a week, all i want is to be taken care of for just an hour a week. My husband and I visited this restaurant for the 3rd time today and it was HORRIBLE from beginning to end. From the bartender who only said "are you ready?" to "you're welcome" we felt unwanted and like we bothered her the ENTIRE time. To speak about the "food" I wanna say that it wasn't even CLOSE to what it was in previous visits. The bacon wrapped shrimp, was just overly cooked shrimp with small bits of bacon just laying on top, and never got app plates or even asked if we needed small plates to share an appetizer!?? Moving on to the salads we ordered before out meal, they came out 30 MINUTES LATER, which honestly was the best part of the meal, that was super sad. Then the meals. The meals. The "seafood mac and cheese was several pieces of BURNT IMITATION crab on top of a bed of macaroni, and my husband's meal was a "BLT" that had only 2 pieces of bacon on a BLT!! We also ordered 2 sides of the broccoli au gratin, that was to "die for" the last time. We actually went back for just the broccoli alone, and what did we get today? 2 side of microwaved broccoli with a slice if anerican cheese on top. I could have made this at home better. I'm so sad that this place was this bad while the "manager" sat right next to us and NEVER offered to help and the bartender/server didn't care either. Wonderful place in a cute little town right on the corner of a cute little town square. The inside was done really nicely and you can tell the owner put his heart and soul into it. I was there on a Wednesday afternoon around 130 and ordered lunch and it was really good and fresh. The menu had a lot of options and the bar had everything you would want. Got the chicken sandwich. It was not on a bun. Just bread. They no longer have waffle fries. The chicken was cooked perfectly but it didn't taste like anything...just a chicken breast. We stopped in for lunch this week. Cool place with a good atmosphere. It had a speakeasy feel to it around the bar. We ordered few appetizers, with the artichoke dip being our favorite.
