It was a very tough decision for what to order. Several of the items that sounded good are not available until evening. I was in the mood for pancakes and they seem to only have waffles, which is not a complaint, just an observation. I am a fan of pastrami so was very tempted by their pastrami items, but also quite skeptical since I had never been there before and hadn't really studied other patrons' pictures from the internet besides seeing that their fries looked good. I decided on the New Yorker pastrami sandwich with fries and Mom had the Rueben (pastrami) with fries too. I just had iced tea to drink and Mom had Dr. Pepper, but both of us commented on how fresh and tasty both of our drinks were. You know how sometimes you get that tea that tastes off or the pop that lacks the sizzle you want. Next came out sandwiches and fries. They both looked great. I was a little disappointed at first because for the sandwiches being the same price, I felt like the Rueben had a lot more meat on it, but after doing some research (with my mouth), I think it probably was about the same, just that the meat on my sandwich had been fried off a bit to give some crispy edges and wasn't stacked up the same as on her Rueben. I probably should have requested the mustard on the side, but in the end I did like the mustard (I'm a little weird when it comes to mustard.) The tomatoes, lettuce and onion on top were really nice and fresh. My fries were AWESOME! I mean, if I had one criticism is they provide off brand ketchup, but you know you get what you get and that's not a big deal. I ate about 1/3 of my sandwich and all my fries while they were nice and hot. I took a little bite from mom's rye bread because it looked really good. I'll say it wasn't the most flavorful bread and she had mentioned she would have preferred something more like a marble rye, but it wasn't that it was bad, just not the tastiest bread. She did say it was probably the best Rueben she'd ever had, which I think goes a long way in excusing the bread. Her fries seemed to have been rushed a little and were a little soggier than mine, but still tasty, just could have used another minute or so in the fryer. The meals were $17 each, which is maybe a little on the expensive side at first look at the menu, but after realizing the quality of the meat, I think it fits with today's economy. There was a strange fee on our bill that we didn't notice until later "Advantage Program" which I assume is a credit card surcharge. It could be put in a little plainer language, but there probably were some warnings somewhere around.
