The Fishing Dock - Open face Tenderloin sandwich

Great little hole in the wall join with a great menu selection and drinks galore…read more We had a gift certificate and stopped in on a Monday night where fried chicken was the special. The hubs had fried chicken and asked for thighs only and they were kind of small but perfectly crispy. His serving of mashed potatoes was smaller than mine (but I didn't mind sharing). I went for the open faxed tenderloin sandwich and mashed potatoes and it was really good (and big enough for leftovers!) Service was a bit slow for the place being dead but we wee not in a hurry so no biggie. Our bill with 2 dinners and a beer was less than $25 (the value of your GC) so it's very reasonably priced. I heard recently sometimes they have bull riding. I'd love to come back on one of those nights!

Can't say much negative about the place other than I could do without the smoke, but then again, that goes for all bars so I still don't consider that to count on anything negative to them because the food, service, music and entertainment is always good and continues to get better. Hope this place never goes away. & no, I am actually not an alcoholic...barley ever drink, so that should say just in itself how great this bar is at everything else to keep bringing me back just for some good times and dang good food! And Wagon Wheel is definitely real. Anyone that knows me is aware that I'm a comfort food aficionado. If it's hot, fried, salty, covered in gravy - then most likely I will enjoy it. My tastebuds were thrilled to discover that Wagon Wheel Steakhouse serves the mother lode of comfort food. The first thing you'll notice when you see the servers carrying plates past your table to deliver to other customers is that everything, and I mean virtually everything, is made in house. The regular fries and the curly cue fries are fresh cut. They offer crinkle cut fries too like you can get in some fast food restaurants, but why would you order that when you can get fresh cut? The chicken fried chicken, chicken fried steak, the pork tenderloins are all hand breaded and fried in the kitchen. Wagon Wheel doesn't serve pre-cut and pre-fried fritters, no sir. As you can see in my picture, my pork tenderloin sandwich was twice the size of the bun, so I cut it in half and took the rest home to eat later - this made my dinner both tasty and cheap as I received two meals for the price of one. There is a small but sufficient fresh salad bar available as well as homemade pie for dessert. A full bar is to the right of the entrance and there are new flat screen TVs all around the dining room. A friend told me Wagon Wheel serves her favorite fried mushrooms and others told me their hamburgers are some of the best around - I can't wait to return and try these, as well as their steaks. When you visit, say hello to my friend the owner Linda Jo. Although she may not be easy to find as she personally spends a great deal of time in the kitchen cooking the food herself. I think you'll agree, her hands-on approach makes the difference at Wagon Wheel.
