Service and food is absolutely wonderful!! For the amount of QUALITY food you get for meal is so worth it!

Legit BBQ right off of the interstate. We arrived about 5:30pm on a Friday, and there were several tables available; by the time we left, there were families waiting for seats, and it was easy to see why. The food is great, service consistently good. The vibe was nice. The walls are gray and covered with artwork of horses and cowboys. Country music played in the background. I ordered the three piece catfish with fried okra. So delicious. They know to do okra, and the hush puppies were extremely tasty. My husband had the combo platter with brisket and burnt ends. He tried the sauces on the table and especially liked the hot one. Meanwhile, our son had the mini macaroni and cheese with added shredded pork. He ate every bite! We used to love this place but the food is not at all consistent. It seems more often than not now the food is bad. Yes...I said bad. I don't like to complain and send food back because you never know what they will do to it. The servers are great but bottom line people go for the food. If the food is not good, nothing can make up for it. Such a shame because it is a nice neat clean place. We now will drive a lot further to eat at Zarda BBQ because it is ALWAYS GOOD! Burnt EndsWalk in and to go order pickup is directly in front. Turn left and there's a hostess stand. Greeted promptly at right up noon. Lunch specials included a burnt end dinner for $15. Ordered 1/2 beef and 1/2 ham. Diet coke was delivered very quickly. Food arrived VERY quickly. Portion size was perfect for a lunch but will have to agree with another user who noted the burnt ends aren't traditional. Although very tasty they were just missing that twice cooked flair that traditional burnt ends have. Sauces - two on the table. A hot and a mild. Something about the hot I disliked. And it wasn't the eat. Mostly I didn't notice it being spicy. The mild was okay. Nothing special but good enough. My drink never got low before a refill was brought. Nothing on the dessert menu interested me so I skipped dessert. Overall I wouldn't drive 3 hours for this BBQ but if I'm in the area I would eat here again. read more

Solid "meh." Had the burnt ends afternoon special for $16, and ordered another side. Split the whole thing with a friend. It was OK, which is all I can really say. Nice place. Clean, efficient, and not kitschy. Seemed like a food-centric (not experience-centric) joint which is how I like'em. The ham (part of the special) was about 8 cubes totalling about 1/3lb or so. It seemed to have been seared a bit. Tasty, but it was ham. What do you expect? Nothing special. The tips, about the same amount, were tasty, but nothing to write home about. Sauces were good. Cole slaw could have come out of the deli at Piggly Wiggly. Mac'n'cheese didn't seem house made. Portions were appropriate for a happy hour snack, not a meal (but at $16?). Service was great. The host eagerly accommodated us when we asked to be seated at a different table than the one right in the traffic pattern. It was early evening and already quite busy, but the waitress was very attentive, but not pushy. These folks hustle but are friendly and on top of things. With two glasses of tea and a tip (20%) we got out for $34. Nothing was memorable, or even something I'd pull off the freeway for though, and for that price, it just didn't seem like a good deal. read more

A BBQ joint in Harrisonville? What?!?!? It DOES exist and it's darn good! I met a friend for lunch and ordered the Texas tater. I'm a fan of loaded baked potatoes and this one delivers! Wanted a mom and pop restaurant for my birthday. I googled bbq in Harrisonville and found this gem. We ordered the combo plate with brisket, burnt ends and pork ribs. Melt in your mouth goodness. Sweet BBQ sauce was good. Hot bbq sauce was not for me but everything was really good. We sent it back and they had heated it up in microwave and brought back same plates with cold fries (heated our sandwiches ) meat was so thin you couldn't literally see the bun . This is great barbecue. And I'm from Kansas City. Even their sides were good. Even their pickles are good!! I had pulled pork, burnt ends. The burnt ends melted in your mouth they were so tender. The pulled pork was very good as well. My cousin had lemon meringue pie and said it was absolutely great. I had apple cobbler, it was very good and homemade. I don't have one negative thing to say about it. And that's unusual for me. read more

Not expected! This little gem knocked my boots off. The classy country interior instantly greets you at the front door along with the friendly smiles of the staff. Overall I was pleasantly surprised by the large menu selection and quality of the food. I decided to try out the sliced meat plate. It comes in small or large size portions. The small was more than enough for me. It came with the option of two meats and with the recommendation of our waitress, I chose pulled pork and brisket. It's also served with fries and toast, along with two other side items. I enjoyed baked beans and coleslaw. The coleslaw was easily one of the best I've ever had! Because of the good Yelp reviews, we stopped at the Branding Iron BBQ for lunch on our way through town (headed down to Bentonville, AR for the weekend). What a find!! I had the Texas Tator which is a huge baked potato with all the fixings (butter, cheese, sour cream & chives) then topped with pulled pork AND nestled in a plate of onion straws. OMG, yum-o! My partner had the Poor Cowboy sandwich, which is kind of a sloppy joe made with pulled pork, brisket, and cheese - also topped with onion straws. Delish! This restaurant is in a strip shopping center, so it might not look like much from the outside. But inside, the place is spacious, nicely decorated (think cowboy chic), and the menu included a nice selection. We loved it and we think you will, too. read more

I ordered the large burnt ends and it was up there in price around $27 and with a drink for $3 it wasn't cheap. The amount of burnt ends I got would fit in my hand. It was total rip off. I estimate maybe around 8 burnt ends. Not going back for sure. Truthfully I'm not even sure if they were true burnt ends. I had high hopes based on what I saw everyone else eating when I walked in. I ordered the meat dinner, brisket and sausage. The meat served was sliced so thin it was almost unrecognizable. There was very little meat on the plate, I suppose they think slicing it thinly makes you think you are getting more. The brisket was so dry I could hardly get it down even with sauce added to it. Everyone else at the table got the pork sandwich and seemed to enjoy their food. I'm from Texas and when we serve bbq meat it's in thick slices which helps the meat stay moist. If I lived here I might would try this place a few more times but it's not a place I would stop at again through Missouri. My only positive is the side portions were adequate. read more

The outside of Brandon Iron BBQ looks small, old and ultimately unwelcoming. It does not reflect the large welcoming restaurant inside. We arrived for a late lunch around 2:00 PM. The restaurant was half full and had the recognizable smell of smoke and fatted meat. The decor is Mom and Pop 90's restaurant. The seats are hard wood and jammed in to fit more people. They adjust for crowds in a minute and rallied the staff to help. At the recommendation of my hosts, I ordered a large plate of Burnt Ends with Beans and Cole Slaw. My 6 friends spanned the menu and had several sandwiches on the menu and a and a Pulled Pork plate. Our food arrived in 8 minutes steaming hot. My Burnt Ends were delicious and tender as Prime Rib. The meat was served with fresh Texas Toast. My Beans were okay and the Cole Slaw was decent. My friends sang the praises of their orders--Complementing the taste. The size and flavor was better than I expected. This place gets BBQ. The service was slow after the food arrived, forcing us to work at getting our drinks refilled, and then had to wait 5 minutes for to-go containers. Though I know they had another large group, there were cooks and workers standing around. They should have rallied the troop. Due to the service at the end of the meal, I feel compelled to deduct a star for service. My recommendation is that you give this BBQ restaurant a try and if you do try the Burnt Ends. read more
