They do not have happy hour, but I will say the cost of drinks are normally cheaper than most places.

We had the caramel cream ale, which is in my top 5 beers of all time. Perfectly sweet and light. The peach tee kolsch was good too- a nice balance of peach. The cherry limeade wheat was right on the edge of sour. It was good that it was served in a smaller glass so we didn't do too much of it. We also did a shot of the stonebreaker cinnamon whiskey, which was a really nice collab between fringe and another local distillery. Super smooth with an oaky flavor on the background. Absolutely love the dark carnival decor, especially the pinball machines, the giant skeleton and the patio with a garage door interior. Highly highly recommend on every level. You should go!

There is a story for much of the art work which I will not do a disservice by trying put it in a review. Go there, see it and ask they'll gladly share the story. Second, INCREDIBLE beers are on tap. I tasted 10 during my visit and every single beer was worth trying. My faves were: Freshly Squeezed Blueberry Lemonade Wheat, Apple Pie Milkshake IPA and Calliope Caramel Cream Ale. Finally, the most important part of the operation is the people. Every single person that was present made me feel welcome and like I was already a part of their community. WOW, I was left feeling like I'd made new friends which I know I did. I travel to KC at least once per year and every year I will return to support this awesome brewery. Thank you for a memorable experience.

The server suggested the burger when I asked, so I went with that. Mom had the smaller portion of a red pepper linguini with shrimp. There was a large party seated about the same time as us, but it didn't seem to cause a delay in the kitchen as our food came out in a good amount of time. As soon as the burger was in front of me, it smelled so great! I knew it was not going to be one of those pre-fabricated patties from a bag of frozen patties. The waffle cut fries were fantastic, I focused my attention on them first because they were so perfect that I didn't want them to get cold. That famous chicken place can keep their waffle fries because these were AWESOME. Mom's portion of pasta was pretty small. Of course we admit she didn't ask any questions about size, but it only had 3 shrimp. They were beautiful shrimp but the portion for the price seemed more like a side than an entree especially since it didn't come with maybe a piece of toast or something just pasta in a bowl with the shrimp on top. It was very tasty, and like I said we didn't ask any questions about the portion size so it's not a complaint, but an observation. With my burger, it was delicious for sure. I was a little disappointed that the barbeque sauce that came on it was not noticeable at all. It needed more or maybe their sauce was just really mild. The fried onions were either the store bought kind or maybe prefried and put on later, which was disappointing on such an otherwise-beautiful burger. While our service was sufficient, there definitely were times I would have maybe asked for something but she seemed to be more of the type that observed from afar instead of stopping to ask if we needed anything. It took a bit of time at the end of our meal to get her stopped for the check and takeout box, but still we could have flagged her down I suppose if needed. I have a bad habit of not always making enough observation of what my server looks like to feel confident I'm waving at the right person, but you know... it was still fine service, not a complaint. I don't get to this part of town for a meal very often and I'd have to hit them just right since the parking is not plentiful but I would definitely love to go back again sometime.

So we loaded up and showed up one day around Noon. Ambiance was really cool. It's in the middle of some sort of progressive looking shanty-esque suburb. The kind of place that does drag queen bingo. I was right at home. Inside was college sport bar, but with a nice, huge board on the wall of all their beer selection. It Was quite expansive. Service was top notch, too. Nice server took care of us, made sure our glasses were never empty. The food came out at a good clips, and we got an unexpected bonus of free little beignet-like donuts with some delicious dipping sauces. As for food, we started off with a jumbo order of the Truffle Parmesan Hand-Cut Fries for the table. We got to choose two from their extensive list of aioli dipping sauces. Fries were good. Dusted with the perfect amounts of truffle and parmesan. And the sauces were my oh my. I recommend paying the upcharge to just try them all. I mentioned the time earlier, because we had no idea we were stumbling upon their brunch menu. Even more options to choose from! I got the Crispy Waffle Smash Burger (smashed hertzog beef patties, fried egg, smoked bacon, merkt's cheddar, caramelized onion, maple aioli, crispy buttermilk waffle). This thing was really nice. Perfect waffle, not too small, not too big, and no oily or anything obtrusive. A nice bun option. Eggs and bacon sometime get lost against giant burger patties, but with these smash patties, the extra accoutrements really stand out and make this burger really stand out in my mind. I also for the try the Smokestack Burger (smoked burnt ends, smoked gouda, whiskey bbq glaze, pickle relish, chipotle aioli & crispy jalapeño straws). Uhhh, as you can read, this thing was loaded with goodness. Fatty burger, smokey burnt ends, sweet boozy glaze, acidic pickles, and texture from that jalapeno. This was the perfect burger. I insist you order this. Overall, my research did not reveal Beer Kitchen to me, locals recommendation did. Shows that you gotta use your street smarts instead of your book smarts sometimes. Best meal I had in Kansas City.

I ordered a cream ale-Lickey Chewy that features strong butterscotch flavors. This beer was my introduction to POG at a Brewfest a few years ago and it's definitely one to try.
