We sat at the bar since they had no open tables which was perfect. My husband got their 4 year and enjoyed it. I had Old Dog New Tricks and it was amazing perfect blend of flavors! Ordered fingerling potatoes and the pretzel. Fingerlings were delicious! Pretzel was covered in cheese and I did not love that, wish the cheese came on the side. Bar tenders were awesome! Super friendly and very helpful! We can't wait to go back!!

1/13/24- I initially came here for a pre restaurant week event, I fell in love with the overall establishment being located inside of a distillery. It was a mini museum with lots of history and you could actually see the distillery itself. The shrimp and grits that were going to be featured on their actual menu was to die for! I made it a point to add this to the list of restaurants for the week. I came back with a few friends and unfortunately some of their pallets did not align with the restaurant week or regular menu. Their regular menu catered more to bar and finger foods, not many selections on sides as well. We collectively as a group decided to dine elsewhere for food. I was bummed because I REALLY wanted the shrimp and grits! No complaints on the drinks, the KC water is what I had and I found it to be very refreshing. Service was great every one was very nice, I recommend checking this place out and I'll definitely will be back.

This is part of my favorite place to go in Kansas City: J Reiger. But my secret is to hit Monogram Lounge at Happy Hour. Everything is half off and so delicious. It's upstairs, there's an elevator or stairs. Going down???? Stairs, slide, elevator. My favorite is KC Ice Water. I've sampled it lots of places, Reiger invented it and makes it perfect. I love Monogram Lounge. It's quiet, feels high-end. Service is impeccable. Nothing is missed. My favorite food is Brussel Sprouts, and their caramel cake. The cake is not in the Happy Hour. I order it anyway. Every time. The Brussel Sprouts have bacon and maple syrup . I'm sure Reiger uses 100% maple syrup. I get a box. The server on point, on time, polite and helpful. It's another place on repeat for me.

Starting off our Friday night here. Great place to come for drinks and food. Bartenders are friendly and always provide great service when you are here. The cocktail drinks are made to perfection. I would say they have the best old fashioned in town. Come on Friday for happy hours from 4-6pm. Drinks and appetizers are about $6. This time we ordered their appetizers, it was fabulous. I would order again. Always a fun place to hang out with friends and family here. They have live music on Wednesday night. Go down the big slide at the end.

Enjoyed a delicious and fun happy hour at J. Rieger & Co. Monogram Lounge last night before heading to the Uptown Theatre to see Charlie Berens. It's such an amazing space inside the distillery, and you can reserve table or lounge seating. We reserved lounge seating, and for four of us we had a nice table with a couch on each side. The service was absolutely impeccable, without being too much. Multiple people came by to clear plates, and just add a little assistance to our server. Since the happy hour offerings were such amazing deals, we decided to try everything on the menu . We tried the Kansas City ice water, the seasonal gin and tonic, the horse feather, and the old fashioned. The appetizers were the ginormous pretzel with cheese and mustard, pork belly with polenta, roasted brussel sprouts, perfectly crispy fingerling potatoes, and burnt ends. No pictures were taken due to enjoying the moment, but I did attach the happy hour menu for reference. I would make a reservation to ensure you have seating, the place filled up quickly after 5:00. Also you can book reservations in advance for the tour of the distillery, which is a ton of fun, and do not skip the slide!

When we arrived their was ample free parking located in the same lot as the lounge. I was a bit taken back because there was no security or host to greet us as we walked in. The lounge was a nice size without being too big or too small. Our section was located directly to the left as we walked in. The band was onstage giving an awe inspiring performance and the crowd was mature. I could already tell that this place is for grown folks and I was drawn in immediately. As we took our seats a server (or what I assumed was our server) came over and bought us some spirits inspired desserts. Our party continued to grow. When the band took a break I learned that we did not have bottle service or a waitress and had to place our orders at the bar. I was disappointed that even with a section we had to walk to the bar to order drinks. The drinks were good but overpriced. All in all I was happy to support a Black Owned Business while visiting Kansas City. The owner was nice and went onstage to congratulate our "Bride" and Thank us for being present. The bathrooms were clean and the night was amazing. Our bride had the most fun to say the least and we were given a standing ovation as we left the lounge. I would definitely recommend this spot if you live or frequent the Kansas City area.

This was a planned night out that we were genuinely excited about. My husband was removed from the venue for "swaying" a few times on the dance floor. That was it. No aggression, no disruption, no intoxicated behavior, no confrontation. He has severe knee issues and was simply shifting his weight while standing and enjoying the music. Instead of checking in or handling the situation with any kind of discretion or compassion, security immediately escalated it and kicked us out entirely. It was humiliating, unnecessary, and completely ruined our night. We lost our VIP experience, the show we traveled for, and the money spent on tickets and lodging. There was absolutely no attempt to understand the situation or treat us like paying customers. This could have been handled in a respectful way, but it was not. Unfortunately, we will not be returning, and I would caution others that security here seems overly aggressive and unwilling to use basic judgment. A night that was meant to be fun turned into an awful memory. Side note: We did not drive , we took uber to and from hotel. It was an expensive evening-RUINED! Also , I googled voodoo lounge after we got back to hotel and the aggressive behavior seems to be a trend of theirs. Something needs to change. We had a lady directly in front of us thrashing about and spilling her drink ALL OVER THE FLOOR and she was left alone. Made zero sense.

I'm always scouting for new coffee shops and an iced mocha was just what I was craving for a late afternoon pick-me-up. The product: The beverage was perfect- plenty of espresso and high quality chocolate to make a great drink. The atmosphere: A very casual-elegant space with lots of wood and leather for comfy seating plus a bar with coffee / tea / cocktails. The type of place that I would love to be a regular at. Although the space was nice, as was the product, I could never return because of the nauseating presence of cigar smoke. I'm not going to blame the business since "Cigar" comes before "Coffee" in their name, I just didn't think it would affect me so greatly. I was barely able to wait inside while my beverage was prepared. I won't deduct stars since I was warned, and that's the nature of the beast. Hats off to the owners for providing a quality environment for a niche customer base - but sadly that isn't my niche. If you like or tolerate cigars - go enjoy the vibe, if you're like me - Do Not Attempt entering.

Pork belly bites were cooked to perfection, fries perfectly crispy, the grilled cheese sandwich was still good even left over the next day!! So, so good. With that said, I took off a star because while it was empty, the bartender was not the friendliest. The service continues to be inconsistent at best--no patio service, long waits, and a general lack of attentiveness--but what's most frustrating is the latest beverage and menu decision. You can no longer order a single glass of wine. Instead, guests are now forced into purchasing a half bottle as the minimum entry point--starting around $25--for a very limited and underwhelming selection (Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc... and that's about it). No Pinot Grigio, no variety, no flexibility. Just a forced upsell on mediocre wine in a casual, outdoor setting. Let's be clear: You can order a single beer. You can order a single cocktail. But you cannot order a single glass of wine. In 2026, that's not just outdated--it's completely out of touch. This approach eliminates choice, discourages responsible and casual consumption, and frankly alienates a large portion of your customer base. What if someone wants just one glass? What if they want to try two different wines? That experience is gone. And the reasoning doesn't hold up. If this is about waste or throughput, there are countless modern solutions--by-the-glass preservation systems, or even high-quality boxed options like Black Box Wines that maintain freshness without forcing customers into higher spend. This feels less like a thoughtful strategy and more like a blunt, revenue-driven decision that ignores the guest experience entirely. So here's the question for leadership: Who is making these menu and beverage decisions--and how does this align with the kind of experience you claim to offer? Because from a guest perspective, this isn't hospitality. It's restriction. I'd genuinely like to hear a response from the team on this. Until then, this is a complete veto for me.
