First time trying Rye, was recommended, and we were not disappointed! Very cool ambiance with a…read morecountry chic vibe. Counter tops, tables, and outdoor seating all available and full! Make reservations because they had a two hour wait for walk-ins. For appetizers we shared their burnt ends. Tender and sauced perfectly. For dinner we shared a wedge salad, their mashed potatoes, asparagus (a must!), and their tomahawk steak! Instead of doing three separate steaks we did the one and it was a perfect size for all of us to share! The steak was tender and well seasoned, mashed potatoes creamy, and the asparagus was prepared in a way we hadn't had before - highly recommend! We also had their dessert lemon meringue pie and coconut cream pie! Really really good! Wine options: amazing! Bourbon options: classy! We couldn't give it five stars for two main reason: 1. We made a reservation for 7pm, arrived and check in at 6:50 and still had to wait just over 30 minutes to be seated. We learned that walk-ins had been seated ahead of us so we needed to wait for some tables to leave before we could be seated. This was a bit surprising. We understand waiting a few minutes, but 30 min is not okay. 2. The sweet server assisting us for dinner was in training and we learned from her "trainer" that she wouldn't be getting any of the tips from our dinner. Additionally, the "trainer" came over around 830 to tell us that although it was only three of us that gratuity is automatically included. Very odd that we were told these things during our meal. The server being trained should absolutely get a portion of the tips - we hope restaurant management reconsiders their policy on this especially since we hardly saw her "trainer". We normally tip over the 20% but because the trainer didn't get any of our tips, we opted to not increase the tip that was automatically charged to us. All in all really classy restaurant and food was delicious! We'll be back for sure!

Overpriced chicken, a stellar mushroom side, and an aggressive exit strategy…read more After some custom cocktails nearby, our famished group headed to Rye for some dinner and dessert. The space was nice and clean, but unfortunately, the service and the "famous" main course didn't quite deliver a stellar performance. Our table was split--some wanted dinner, some wanted dessert. This apparently threw our waiter into a state of deep existential confusion. The Food: I ordered their "famous" fried chicken, customizing it to three thighs (which came with homemade pickles and a fantastic ham gravy). For $24, it wasn't bad, but it's definitely not "famous" for flavor--maybe just famous for the price tag. Honestly, I could have filled up at Popeyes for a fraction of the cost. Surprisingly, the absolute star of my meal was the side of sautéed mushrooms. It came with little pearl onions, shallots, and green peas. I topped it with some of my friend's arugula to make it fancy, and it was delicious. The Service (or lack thereof): Here's where it went downhill. The dessert order became a saga. Those who ordered sweets expected them to arrive with the mains, but we had to ask several times just to get them toward the end of the meal. By the end, our waiter seemed completely frustrated with our existence. He aggressively boxed up the remaining desserts and semi-forcefully shoved the credit card machine into our faces to shuffle us out the door. Great mushrooms, aggressive math at the end. Proceed with caution.

I loved this place!…read more I was searching for a cheeseburger that was well recommended by Yelpers. A lot of folks said that Walsh's Corner Cocktail Bar was a great place to find a delicious burger. They were 100% correct! I had a tasty Mexican lager, which I had never heard of, but the bartender let me sample it before I ordered one and it was also wonderful. Tasty pint! The staff here is super friendly and welcoming, even to strangers, which can be uncommon. I was here by myself and felt completely welcome. The other patrons were lively and friendly. There were some very cool regulars at the bar. Including a piano teacher and a computer programmer. I chose to come to Walsh's on a Wednesday night because their burgers are $1.50 off on Wednesdays. Monday and Thursday is Taco Night! But those are the only nights they offer tacos. I will have to go back. The burger was really good! It comes naked, cheese is only added if you ask for it. You can also ask for pickles and onions. But they won't come with the burger if you don't ask. Catchup and mustard are offered on the side in squirt bottles. The mustard was tangy and nice. I think the ketchup was Heinz. If not, it's even better because it was zesty and fresh. I really liked it. And I'm not even a ketchup guy. The burger was very flavorful, cooked to perfection and really a delight! The bun was slightly toasted, but not dripping with butter or gross. The onion rings were fantastic! The breading was a medium thickness, not so thin that you could see through it and not so thick that it tasted like extra crispy chicken. I was driving so I just had the one beer, but I was pleased to enjoy a Coke with my dinner. I will absolutely return to Walsh's! What a great place! Thanks, Yelp for the recommendation!!

For the event, food was catered in with a nacho bar from Jose Pepper's, and we were given a complimentary cocktail along with the chance to play a game of fowling. Fowling is basically bowling with a football, but instead of a regular football, we used more of a Nerf-style, squeezy football. It sounds simple until you actually try it. Even when your aim feels spot on, the ball can bounce, shift, and completely miss the target. It was a lot of fun and honestly a better workout than I expected. I was surprised my arm was not sore afterward because there is definitely some movement involved. The space is great for groups, parties, team building, and people who enjoy active social games. The staff and setup made the event feel easy and welcoming, and I had a wonderful time. That said, I'll be honest: this is not really my personal bag. I could definitely see myself coming back for a kid, pre-teen, or teenager's birthday party, or maybe enjoying it more if there were an outdoor option where I could get a little sunshine while playing. All in all, it was a wonderful experience, and I'm glad I went. I had fun, I tried something new, and now I can officially say I've been fowling. Would I need to do it again in life? Honestly, probably not. But would I recommend it for the right group or occasion? Absolutely.

Now I'm a relative sporty woman so it was fun but if you're not, you will not necessarily enjoy your time here. If you threw footballs as a kid and you like lawn games SLIDE THROUGH! This would be a cool spot for a watch party, or maybe catching up with your bros. They do have one pool table if you into that (which I am ) . Full bar, food available & service was rather fast.
