I wasn't a fan but I'd return with friends that want to go. The food was ok, not great. Maybe I was having an off night. Lots of tables and booths for sure. The waitress was great. We would come back here to give it another go, but on this visit it was slow service - like 10-15 minutes to get bbq sauce for our sandwich, and again for our diet coke. That is not super helpful when you are dining with a toddler. The food was fine, and our two year old was happy to be able to have dairy free pizza. However, we went the week before Thanksgiving and the Christmas decorations were AMAZING! They were everywhere! It was super fun for our kid - and for us! Mom POV: don't go thinking you'll get in a quick bite before nap time or bedtime. But they do have high chairs and a changing station. And again, the decorations are awesome. The Big Cupid themed decorations made for a perfect Valentine's date with the kiddo. So many decorations and photo ops making it a fun place for Valentines dinner not to mention the heart shaped pizza and the themed cocktails. We ordered the hot honey pepperoni pizza and it was good not too spicy. We also tried the Fig and Prosciutto pizza and liked it more than the hot honey. I've visited several of the MCB locations and the pop up themes have been great! I recommend visiting during a holiday popup. The food and service is good as well. read more

We experienced Martin City Brewery during their Big Cupid Valentines Day event. So cute! Their salads are always amazing. Started our meal off with a Cobb Salad to share. So many toppings and the raspberry dressing was on point. Charcuterie Board had all the ingredients for a savory and delicious lead in to our main course. Heart shaped pizza in one of their specialty pizzas Chicken Spankopita flavored. We were so impressed and satisfied. Definitely need to make an effort to try them for brunch or dessert sometime. I haven't been to MCB in quite a while. KCRW lunch menu enticed me to make a visit. I decided on a Blackberry smash, the lunch special- small house salad with feta vinaigrette & Chicken Spanokita pizza. BF got the RW options: pretzel bites & Italian Grinder with chips. Everything was very good with our food being hot & fresh. The ground mustard for the pretzel was too powerful but cheese sauce made up for it. The chips were addictive. read more

They serve a huge variety of pizzas. 3 sizes and a variety of different sauces. You can get one from menu of design your own. They also have a gluten free crust that's very good, if you don't like the cauliflower one, that's ok. They have one that's not. Plenty of seating, chairs at bar, booths and tables. We were greater at the door which was held open by a nice greater! Service table side was terrific. Able to take our time, asked for assistance, got great advice and even offered samples of beer to help with which to order. The decor is what you'd expect in a sit down, restaurant/bar. Comedy enough chairs but minimalistic. This visit we had Aloha'. Their take on Hawaiian style and the Supremo/Supreme. Ordered before 3pm so salad free with pizza. Choose the Caesar which was tasty n fresh. The Aloha' says spicy, it was very tasty and warm to hot spice. Lucky me I got to eat it all. The Supremo also very good was shared by 2. Both were 8". Martin city is a fun place to meet friends for happy hour or to have dinner! We personally do not enjoy beer but we can always find plenty of wine or drinks that we prefer to drink. Happy hour menu is wonderful as is the regular menu. This year they have a fun Christmas pop-up bar and the restaurant and bar are decorated to the Max! I've been here before, right after it opened and thought I'd left a review then. The place is large and a great set-up if you are lucky enough to require a place for a large gathering. The service is pretty good, and have had good staff wait and bring orders in a timely manner. The first time I came, my son insisted we try their pizza, which he liked. My husband and I, unfortunately, found the pizza to be a bit unsurprisingly typical. I had an assortment of cheese, which I believe is supposed to make Martin City stand out in the ubiquitous pizza market. What I will rave about is their prime brisket melt, which is quite possibly the main reason to come back. I oved the flavor and the melted cheese was gooey for a while after it was served. read more

It's All About Service For me it all started at the sinks of my uncle's diners. At 13 I was his chief dish washer. We would start every day that way, Later we would cover his catering jobs and I would hear that same mantra over and over. As I progressed up to fine dining restaurants I never forgot those words, It's all about Service! Tonight we decided on Martin City (in Lee's Summit) for a quick Sunday dinner. Our server was promptly at our table with menus and a welcoming smile. I ordered an Irish Coffee, and we went on from there. Side note here: I have tried ordering Irish Coffee in a number of local restaurants, one 4 times, and had to try to explain to a bartender how to make it at almost every one!. I brought that up to our server (just to get past all that) and she respectfully covered it with me! Amazingly, she brought me a true Irish Coffee perfectly made! About that time I asked how long she had been there and she said, "6 months" so I had to ask where she had worked before, "3 months at anther local restaurant." I was astounded! We talked for a few more minutes and realized she knew the bartender's capabilities, the strong points in the kitchen, and the details of all the menus! Needless to says the rest of the meal also went flawlessly. Phoebe was ahead of everything that happened. She had taken ownership of the table and assured everything was as we expected, and all with a genuine smile. Easily, very impressive service in pizza pub. My fragile ego aside, with continued support from management she will exceed my level of service on the tables (OK, the older I get the better I was). Wanted to check out the restaurant week options and have not been here for a long while. The bar was understaffed for the occasion and we did order the menu available for the special, which was meat balls, salad, and 8" pizza. We ended up sending the barbacoa pizza back as it was filled with a lot of oil and not much meat if any at all. Ended up with carne pizza which was ok. Unfortunately there wasn't anything that was a knock out of the park, was just ok. We felt bad the bar didn't have much help because she was running around with full intention but it was to keep up. The Grilled Chicken Pesto did not impress me much, but the Brisket Melt was my favorite as it was more flavorful. The chips that were served with the dish were okay. Came by for a late lunch and a happy hour beer. This place is awesome! The Brew 39 beer on tap pairs so amazingly well with the Pork Al Pastor pizza. OMG you have to try this combo!! So good!! The bad: I had my expectations set too high. The pizza was good, but it wasn't amazing. While my daughter's pizza came out okay, my husband's pizza crust was burnt. It was equivalent to the taste and texture of a saltine cracker that had previously been lit on fire. I had the open-face meatball sandwich. Probably one of my favorite breweries in the KC area! I've been to the one located in overland park a few times and this was my first time at the Lee Summit location. The pizza and beer are amazing every time! The atmosphere is very chill and the restaurant has always been very clean. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks and food. She informed us that we could split the pizza in half since I'm a mushroom lover and my boyfriend is not lol it was great that we both got to choose our favorite toppings and still split a pizza. I really like Martin City! I've been coming about once a week with my grandma, and every time the staff is very friendly and the food comes out fast. I loveeeee the pretzel appetizer with the cheese and their mustard is the best, I order them every time I come. The menu includes sandwiches, salads, pizza, flatbread, and different apps and everything I've tried so far has been great. They have happy hour almost everyday from 3-6pm and again 9pm- close. The servers remember us when we come in and they talk to my baby when I bring him in his car seat, everyone is so nice and the margaritas are made just right. If you haven't came in before I recommend the chicken pesto sandwich or pizza, Taste of Italy salad, Bavarian Pretzels, & the meatball appetizer. We will be back soon! read more
