I absolutely love the brewery's minimalist style. The room's long open layout encourages socialization. If you play your cards right, you might make a new friend or two. I love the theme nights. Music bingo on Thursdays is my favorite. I haven't attended yet, but the Sporting Kansas City, KC Current and Formula One watch parties look fun. A variety of beers are available on tap. They usually include a few year-round options and a couple of seasonal options. Canned beer - some that isn't available on tap - is available to go. I could do a review on all the beer at the place. I could also talk about how friendly the people are or how the owners/brewers are onsite and constantly striving to keep their thumb on the pulse of what us consumer/beerdrinkers want. Or, I could launch into how they have a great patio setup and an often open-air venue to allow for plenty of seating and watching the football (soccer) games on the TV. Instead... we will do this. I have been going to this micropub for several years now. And I consider a lot of this staff/owners/brewers friends. I have helped them where I can. Contacted a food truck or two for them and shared their information when and where I can for people wanting to have any meetups or events. The KC Renfest meets here on occasion and we love the place. You can find live music here, trivia, and a ever-growing march of food trucks. I see someone has done a review on the Cousins Lobster Roll truck. But there are so many other options! But, I hear you over there in the corner... "but, Rob, I don't like beer." That is ok this place also serves a few wines, and a good selection of whiskeys! "But, Rob, I don't drink..." That isn't true! Oh, you mean you don't drink alcohol... how about the great selection of craft sodas then! Yeah this place has you covered. If there is something that isn't here and you think it should be... just tell the staff... they are building this to be a community place to share good times and libations with people. This is a great brewery if you have not been. The layout of the brewery is very clean and minimalist. They have whiskey as well and hold a lot of events. On certain days, there are discounts on whiskey and beer for events. They are great at making wild ales and stouts. I have had better IPAs and lagers to my palate but the other types of beer are really well done. You can also bring outside food to munch on while you try their menu. They have a decent selection and styles. Their outdoor patio is typically where we go when we bring out pup and the staff is very friendly and will bring a water bowl out for us. Overall a great clean atmosphere and something for everyone to enjoy . read more

This might be my new favorite local brewery, we came in on a random Saturday night and were pleased to see a local band was playing. And a show has me coming back every single time. I ended up trying the Pittem which is a Belgium style tripel, it was listed to have honey, champagne and baking spice. This is a very unique beer and I ended up getting two. I also ordered play date, which is a double IPA but it did not taste like an IPA whatsoever. It had tropical and melon notes, it really surprised me. There was also a food truck parked outside that you could order from and your food would be brought straight to your table. Hopefully they do more shows soon because I would love to go back soon and check out some more local music. read more

Lots of parking and they partnered with a food truck, which is a beautiful way to build/support community! The beers are all excellent and there's a good variety of brews. I'd like to see a few less hoppy options, but I still enjoyed all the ones I tried. The inside is bright and open. There are lots of seats an guests are invited to relax and stay for a while. Pathlight has always brewed consistently tasty beers! We've been here so many times, I'm surprised it took me this long to share some love. They have a side patio with picnic tables and garage doors to open up on a great day. Check their social media for food truck popups. We've also ordered pizza and brought it with us. We love trying out local breweries. Pathlight has been our list for long time and I am so glad that we stopped in. The space is great, there is plenty of seating for large or small groups. We sat on the couch which was a great spot next to the bar. I had the Foeder Saison Muscat and really enjoyed it. I love sours and this was definitely one of my favorites that I have had recently. We also had the Cold Hearted Blond. This was a coffee blond ale. I normally don't love coffee flavored beers but this one surprised me. It was light and very easy to drink. We plan on returning soon and highly recommend adding Pathlight to your must visit list! read more

Awesome brewery! They focus on iPAs and bottled sours (they have a wild ale program) but also have a good variety of other options. I'm not an IPA gal, so I appreciate this! Some of my favorites to date have been the bankers hours Amber, the 75th street abbey ale, and a mimosa sour. Another unique option they have is a slow pour! They usually have one option on tap, and while I don't totally understand the beer science, it makes for a foamy pour that I've generally found refreshing. Lots of great pop ups happen here too! We've loved Smoke n Seoul and Point and Flat BBQ! Solid patio space when the weather is nice! And the heaters will keep you plenty warm when it's not quite so warm! If you're into F1 racing, this is a great spot! We went for a bbq pop up on an F1 race day and the energy was incredible! We didn't stay long after finishing our food and beers to make rooms but it was cool to see the racing and crowd! read more

Writing this review on my second visit. First one, we sat outside on a cool summer night but this time was in the middle of winter. In spite of not being a beer drinker it usually doesn't prevent us from visiting brewing places. Most have a few cocktail options. Have to say extremely disappointed in their no cocktail options and only canned ciders. My Apple Chai local cider wasn't to my liking. The place was really busy in this friday evening. The decor is quite sterile. I'm guessing its the beer options is why others come here and give it high ratings. read more

I came here because I saw there was a burger pop up outside and thought that I would definitely love a beer to go with my burger. I love all the windows and how open it is inside. They have a good size menu, good options without being overwhelmed what to pick. I ended up landing on their hazy IPA. They have a nice patio that was packed when I got there because the weather was so nice. I brought my food in and sat in the back towards a bunch of large barrels that were pretty cool to look at. From the street, I fee like you'd never know there is a brewery in the shopping center. I don't really live in the area or close but this is a great spot in the neighborhood. My hazy IPA was good, not amazing but it was solid. The staff was really nice. I would def go here more if I was around the area more. read more

Open for less than 1 year, several locals messaged us to stop by and see the light, and believe me, we're converted. The head brewer Tanner was eager to give us a full brewery tour explaining his in-depth unique approach to brewing and recipe development. We walked through his barreling room learning from the pro about saison, sour and grisette styles. Can't wait to have him lead a Beer School at BeerSauce Shop Kansas City! When you stop by Pathlight, make sure to try the Slow Pour handle off the side of the tap tower. You'll experience a smooth creamy head like craft beer was meant to have. Very cool brewery in a very unassuming location. Nestled next to Mr. D's donuts, this brewery knows what they are doing! With a menu that boasts something for everyone and the best double IPA I've ever had, Pathlight is definitely living up to their name! We went here on a Friday night. There was plenty of seating and space in between so we didn't feel crowded. The brewery and bathrooms were very clean as well. Pathlight has quite a variety of beers in tap, but they focus more on IPAs, stouts, and German beers. A lot of them are 5% ABV or above, so watch out I had the Sugar Daddy which is a milkshake IPA 6% ABV). It was really good with a hint of citrus. I also tried the Chocolate House of Black which is an oatmeal stout (8% ABV). After these two drinks I was literally tapped out. The staff is incredibly welcoming and accommodating and good at making suggestions. Good selection of beers while a little more heavy on the IPA side. I did try their seltzer and porter which I feel like lacked a little flavor. Their slow pour amber lager was interesting with a smooth flavor. They also had the Taco Tank there which was very good! Tucked away in an unassuming building lives this great brewery! I was pleasantly surprised with the decor and vibe on the inside. Lots of open space, minimalistic colors, and natural light. Visited on a Saturday evening for a beer and some food. The place is on 75th just west of Neiman. A fairly Large taproom with tables paced appropriately. They also have some outside seating. A fair sized crowd. A woman sitting near me had the foulest mouth I have heard in a while. Every sentence had an f word! More TVs needed. Service was acceptable, except for the 15 minutes when they got real busy. Not enough workers at that time. They had 12 beers on tap and 3 were IPA. I tried them all and liked the Daddy IPA the best. All were good tho. The food was provided by Taco Tank food "truck". A wagon not a truck. I ordered the Old School tacos and the Esquites. The tacos had great flavor But were a bit dry. The Esquites were a little too spiced up but not hot! After the mouth left it was a nice evening. Last call was 9 and there were still patrons. Don't go late. read more

Located in a tired and out of date strip mall, this is a great spot for a modern brewery, located right off I35 and 75th street. Friendly, knowledgeable staff (not snobby), good mix of pretty good beers at reasonable prices, and a good rotation of different styles and new releases as well. Had a new citra/mosaic ipa as well as a blonde ale that were both enjoyable but unremarkable. Clean and spacious interior. Only major thing this potential hidden gem is lacking (and I think it's big for a brewery to be viable long term) is "soul." My buddy described it as "good beers in a completely sterile environment" which I thought was a good description. The interior feels like they made one trip to Hobby Lobby and did their entire renovation/design/decor work in less than an hour. I think they are going for some sort of minimalist vibe but the overall feel inside is just not conducise to sticking around and having that one extra round with your friends, like you would at so many other taprooms in KC. It's just tables, chairs, and empty walls. It's missing that x-factor that other great places have that keep you coming back. They have a lot going for them so hope they do well! read more
