Brewery Emperial is such a fun brewery in the crossroads. It has a spacious patio that is kid friendly and has great laid back vibes. The food is really good too. I've had their burger, fries, wings and now I'm adding fried green beans to the list. They were delicious! I ordered a margarita and my husband had a beer, both good and the service was good. You have the option to order and pay online from a QR code which is convenient, but the servers are also around to take your order if you want.

Great place to hang out, just outside of downtown KC - in the crossroads/brewery district. I tried two beers from the menu and enjoyed both. The first was actually a beer and a shot - Todd's Combo. The pint of Biscuit and a shot of TODAMMIT wouldn't be my go to, but it was worth trying. I actually enjoyed the beer. The cinnamon schnappy shot I could've skipped. The beer had toasty notes... if you like pale ales, it is a good tasting beer. I also tried the URSA23, which is a stouty beer. It was great tasting and filling. 12 malts and 1/3 of the batch is aged in Tom's whiskey barrels. It was delicious. We took up seats at the bar. The bartender was nice and greeted us immediately. He took our orders and put some waters in front of us. As soon as we were near empty, he asked if we wanted more or something else. He was knowledgeable in guiding us to the beers on tap. Guests have the ability to order online, but why would you with competent friendly service like this? Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The biergarten is covered, and if you want to sit out front, you can do that too. Even games for the kiddos, if you bring them along. They have flat screens showing the Chief's game, and music in the back ground if you weren't interested in football.

Garlic Parmesan Fries

Brewery Emperial in KC's bustling Crossroads District just proved you can deliver brew-pub magic in a to-go box. I grabbed the Jr. Smasher Burger with garlic-Parmesan fries, and, wow--flavor-bomb central! The smash-seared patty was cooked exactly to my medium-plus sweet spot, juicy without a hint of grease, tucked into a soft bun that held up all the way home. The fries deserve their own headline. You can taste that they start with real-deal potatoes--crisp edges, fluffy centers, finished with a punchy mix of roasted garlic and nutty Parmesan that clings to every bite (no sad shake-on powder here). Fresh ingredients are clearly standard practice; everything still tasted farm-stand vibrant after the drive. Service was on point, too. The curbside pick-up station was organized, my order was ready right on time, and the team made sure sauces and napkins were in the bag--small touches that matter. Because I haven't actually stepped inside yet, I'm holding one star in reserve, but if the interior vibe matches the food and hospitality, I can already see a five-star update coming. Bottom line: whether you're exploring Crossroads or just hunting a killer burger-and-fries fix, Brewery Emperial belongs on your short list. I'll be back soon to soak up the atmosphere--and maybe sample a pint or two straight from the source. See you again, Emperial!

I love this place. It's great in the summer with their cool, covered patio. But we came on a foggy and cold Christmas Eve. Inside was a haven for weary and thirsty travelers, cozy and comfortable. The beer is excellent. I had a flight of imperial stouts that I really should've spent longer drinking. They were quite good. The food was first rate, with plenty of vegetarian options available. Our server was festive and super friendly, which only added to the ambience. I recommend highly.

Nice bar area

Emperial had a great layout. It seemed very family friendly. Lots of games outside and areas for groups to play and hang. The beer was okay and the bar staff seemed a bit distracted. All in all it was a good place to rest a bit and cool off. I was there on an especially warm day so it was nice to sit on the cool and dank bar area.

We checked out Brewery Emperial in the winter, and after noticing their covered patio area, I realize we MUST come back in the summer time - it seems pretty great. They even have tetherball, which I haven't played since middle school, but I'd love to give it a go! I don't do a whole lot of drinking, but my friends said they loved the beer selection, and really enjoyed a flight of stouts. I got a pretzel, and it really was exactly what I was looking for - tasty, chewy, and so soft on the inside. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, there were some flat screens around if you wanted to catch the game. Our server helped us figure out how to make an order - just know there's an automatic 20% gratuity, which is fine, but something to note just so you don't accidentally tip twice. Overall, Emperial is a must-visit spot in the Crossroads brewery district. 5 out of 5 stars!

Great food, beer and love the outdoor area! They added tetherball which is awesome! I also love being able to bring the pups there. The only thing I don't like is how you have to place your own order on your phone and you have to pay through there as well. I definitely prefer to have a server you interact with that takes your order and checks on you. They just bring you your stuff and then they also automatically add on 20% tip on your bill. It just doesn't seem right to me especially since I felt like I did most of the work. Other than that small annoyance it's an awesome place.

Cute little place that offers inside and outside seating. We stopped to have some drinks and appetizers. Place is small and cramped, service was lacking a bit as they encourage you to order on their app only and not with servers. We tried guacamole dip and fries. Both were ok but not amazing. Enjoyed drinks. Fun place to hang out.

I really enjoyed our stop at Brewery Emperial. I loved the space and the service was great. I had the Biscuit beer and really enjoyed it. We shared the Parmesan fries, mini corn dogs and Bavarian pretzel. Everything tasted great. We are already planning on returning.

The server in a Wednesday costume was amazing last night. Very sweet and accommodating of my food allergies. The food was good. The pretzel was hot and soft. My coworker liked the green beans. The place is cute with all the owls.

Amazing! Cheers!

best beer in KC! owners are fantastic and food is delicious! The akaushi farm to table beef from the burgers to the steaks are amazing and the wood fired steak specials. The beer garden rocks! Ask for howland's ranch dressing- is the best I have ever had! West Coast - loving the bE experience!

This is a great brewery and the best I visited in KC. I had the pleasure of talking with the owner and the brewer and learned a lot about the beers and the KC beer scene. The fish and chips were also very good. They have indoor and outdoor seating options and the environment is very comfortable. The beers I tried: Wheat (excellent) Biscuit (great) Marzen (very good) Chocolate Stout (great)

The chillest of the chill vibe in the crossroads for daytime drinks and games. If I drank beer I'd probably like it even more.

We ended up just getting a snack, Gouda Mac and cheese bites. They were pretty salty which took away for the flavor inside. Dunking in the RAD AF (one of their beers) ranch helped it out. First of all, looking at my last review I realized that the Rad AF was the first IPA I really fell in love with and really changed the way I viewed IPAs in general - now they are my primary beer of choice which would have shocked 2019 Sarah to hear. The things I said in my last review still ring true as the beer at City Barrell anywhere you get it whether it's in the taproom or at the liquor store is pricey. The difference now is that everything everywhere is pricey and I maintain that their beers are still amongst the very best in town, so in short, it's honestly probably a slightly better value now than it was in 2019 when it's all said and done. Now onto the food. You're going to find bar-fare here and they do it really well. We had cheese curds and I had a sandwich and "fancy fries" all were delicious. Next time I'm going to do their appetizer platter and just enjoy all the bar food deliciousness. What put this into 5 star territory for me though was our server - she was so nice and welcoming - it was honestly just one of the best casual dining experiences I've had in a long time.

When you walk in you can choose if you'd like to sign up for a brewery tour - if you haven't done this it's well worth your time. I usually just head up to the taproom. In reality there are three different taproom places here. The second floor is the main space and where I find myself most often. They serve pretty great bar food and have a ton of taps to choose from. You'll find an array of Boulevard favorites and some experimental options which are fun to sample. They also usually have a free photobooth running and PLENTY of space. It's happened to me, but it's rare that it's so full you can't find a spot. They also have one of the best patios in KC IMO. The top floor is the rec deck which has games, and more space to hang out and enjoy a drink though a more limited bar. Downstairs if you navigate behind the gift shop you can find a more intimate bar where they deposit tour goers over the weekend. During the week they host trivia here and it's always a fun time. Overall you can't go wrong stopping in here for a pint. If you are visiting KC this is a must visit.

The food came out piping hot and with the right amount of flavor. The chicken fingers had a great flavor, which complimented well with the honey Dijon mustard. The cheese curds were super cheesy and as long as you ate them right away as with any cheese curds it didn't stiffen up! Per my friend the queso was creamy, her reaction to the full portion coming out was priceless but I couldn't capture that here lol. It came with both tortilla chips and soft flour tortillas. I'd probably leave off the soft flour tortillas because those don't really fit with the idea of dipping into the queso. Our server was A+, very attentive, he kept up pretty well with our table and the others during I'm sure the busiest time with Happy Hour. Kept our water coming, was mindful that Happy Hour would soon be ending and came back by to grab any additional orders which I loved. The ambiance was happy hourish. We made a reservation and yes we did arrive approximately 30 minutes early 5:30 versus 6:00. Checked in and was told they would check on our table which was fine. We would have been happy to have waited at the bar and had drinks however we were seated which was very nice but we were not informed that our server was not going to be available for another 30 minutes. She took 1/2 our drink orders and walked away no explanation. 20 minutes later came back took a couple more and then a couple more. But never relayed that she was "in the weeds" and just left us unattended. After another 20 minutes she took our appetizer order which when delivered was incomplete. Had to flag her down to get her attention to take our meal order. Never asking if anyone would like another beverage or even refilling our water. Food finally arrives staggered at best and please note that when I ordered the daily special I specifically asked if the Prime Rib was available at medium rare she said yes. When it arrived it was medium well to well done and looked like shoe leather. The last straw. I asked to speak to a manager just to let them know what was happening and how disappointed we were. I NEVER asked for any rebate just letting them know what was happening. When I received the bill they had reversed the prime rib but had charged for the white wine 3 times when only one was ordered. And added a standard server charge for a party of 8. I admit I did not add any additional tip to the bill. As the service and food were both less than what should be expected from a restaurant where the average meal is $70 per person. The reason for this review is because about an hour later I get a call from the manager demanding that I come in and pay the server $150 in cash because she worked hard. Then proceeded to tell me that I have been band from ever coming in again which is absolutely not a problem because trust me I will never darken their doors again. I have worked in the service industry for over 35 years and have a compassion for people in the industry and generally over tip. But I have never had anyone not even listen to what my experience was before demanding I compensate someone for an unacceptable experience. Never once were we communicated with about there being an issue. The word TIPS To Insure Prompt Service. Not a guarantee.
