The holy trinity or mind, body, spirit connection! We stumbled upon the brewery by stopping by the Lota Bait store, which is also fun, and noticed their name listed. All we had to do was walk behind and sitting on a nice piece of land with shade trees, picnic tables, lots of chairs, fire pit and a stage for music was heaven. There's a pick up window for your beverage orders or you can go inside for their home brew, seltzers and cocktails made with Tom's Town Distilling spirits. That morning they were making homemade waffles, plain or with bananas and walnuts, one of each please, and their utensils came wrapped and are compostable. Can't wait to spend an evening there after having fun on Lake Lotawana or if you live close enough you're lucky. This place is sweet!

They are dog friendly and I was thrilled to see and get to pet a big puppy who was there being a very good girl. The bartenders have all been super nice. They have a lot of beer. Over 10. I know because we ordered two flights which consisted of five tasters each and we still didn't try everything. But I did enjoy what we did get. They had a really good smoked porter that would pair perfectly with some bbq. And they also had a blackberry lemonade seltzer that was refreshing and perfect for this summer heat wave. First of all, looking at my last review I realized that the Rad AF was the first IPA I really fell in love with and really changed the way I viewed IPAs in general - now they are my primary beer of choice which would have shocked 2019 Sarah to hear. The things I said in my last review still ring true as the beer at City Barrell anywhere you get it whether it's in the taproom or at the liquor store is pricey. The difference now is that everything everywhere is pricey and I maintain that their beers are still amongst the very best in town, so in short, it's honestly probably a slightly better value now than it was in 2019 when it's all said and done. Now onto the food. You're going to find bar-fare here and they do it really well. We had cheese curds and I had a sandwich and "fancy fries" all were delicious. Next time I'm going to do their appetizer platter and just enjoy all the bar food deliciousness. What put this into 5 star territory for me though was our server - she was so nice and welcoming - it was honestly just one of the best casual dining experiences I've had in a long time.

There is a story for much of the art work which I will not do a disservice by trying put it in a review. Go there, see it and ask they'll gladly share the story. Second, INCREDIBLE beers are on tap. I tasted 10 during my visit and every single beer was worth trying. My faves were: Freshly Squeezed Blueberry Lemonade Wheat, Apple Pie Milkshake IPA and Calliope Caramel Cream Ale. Finally, the most important part of the operation is the people. Every single person that was present made me feel welcome and like I was already a part of their community. WOW, I was left feeling like I'd made new friends which I know I did. I travel to KC at least once per year and every year I will return to support this awesome brewery. The board will list the ABV for each beer, as well as the pour prices, and you can choose from anything between lighter ales to heavier stouts. I prefer the darker stuff and really love their 'Train in Vain', a brown ale with fabulous body. Communication was excellent and they were able to swap in some vegetarian options at the last minute. The food arrived right on time and was hot, labeled and ready to go!
