I'm a big Burg & Barrel fan, but hadn't been to this location just yet. It's kinda nicely tucked right off the south side of 87th street. Parking was ample outside and we came in right about dinner time. We were sat immediately and I soon had a nice red beer. The cheese burgers were the special, so I opted for one of those with fries + the "my girlfriend isn't hungry" add of a couple chicken strips and some extra fries. The burger was perfect, but I've gotta say...for being a place called *Burg* and Barrel, their chicken strips are the best. They're juicy, the breading is fantastic, and they're always just really high quality. We came in while they were starting the trivia night deal, which I couldn't care less about, but if that's something you're a fan of...it's a thing here. Went here for the first time and it will not be the last. It was great we did pick up and we didn't get any burgers. Because the menu showed awesome looking chicken. We had a combination of several chicken dishes. The strips which were perfectly done and crispy, i had a buffalo chicken sandwich that was huge but it didn't come with the blue-cheese that it was supposed to be to but the ranch that came on the side was fine, the fries, tots and onion ring were all very good. This one was a take-out order. And this is some of the really hard-to-review stuff. Let's face it. Box sizes and to-go orders don't really have a good presentation or fit with the amount of food you normally get while dining in at the restaurant. But Burg and Barrel has it down. Everything travels very well. And they are good at ensuring they have the right boxes for the right items. Venting in place to keep the fries (or tots) from steaming up and getting soggy. Boxes that are big enough for the full sandwich and a full order of fries. Snagged a beer while I waited and didn't even make it all the way through before the bartender showed up with our to-go order. Then speaking of Ambiance... we got to sit in my awesome living room and wolf down burgers and a steak salad while watching the movie of choice for the night. Burg & Barrel has brought their OP style into the western 'burbs, holding down a spot in the burgeoning Lenexa space. They are doing more than just bringing a burger and beer; their craft beer game is pretty unmatched out this way, and their food continues to perform at high levels. Each visit we have made has included an appetizer and a burger. Their current happy hour for appetizers at half-price runs from 2:00-6:00 so you have a chance to sample at a bargain. We love the Goat Cheese Balls, the Totchos are a meal to themself, and the Pretzel Sticks satisfy our kid's picky palate. The specialty burger menu starts with a classic burger, which you can customize, and goes up through increasingly interesting options. I love the Cowboy, a juicy burger with bacon and an onion ring on top and served with a spicy BBQ sauce. We have also tried the Baby Bella, which is not your average mushroom/swiss burg. Regardless of which burger you choose, my suggestion is that once you start, don't put it down. The burgers are juicy (I like a medium-well), they can become a mess quickly, and you risk getting involved with your food - not that that is a bad thing. The flavors smash, though, and the presentation and options for sides are done very well. Service on the floor or behind the bar is always friendly, and they have taps aplenty. Whether you get down with hop or malt, there is something for almost any beer enthusiast. Burg & Barrel also offers a fair cocktail selection if you don't like a glass of brew, so again, there is something for anyone. If you participate in a beer,social app, such as Untappd, you can check in at this venue to track what you've had there or sample what's new. It really is a great location. Parking is easy, because out here in the western suburbs, we have lots of space. Seating is nice indoors, there is some outdoor space, and the service is always fair and friendly. Prices are on par with the area and the market, and for two of us we usually get out of there for dinner at about $45. That's not far on either side from the median cost of a dinner out, but when you get the fabulous food included in that cost, then you really have a great experience. read more

Food for my husband-he ordered 'The Pig' burger and my son-he ordered the Caprese sandwich but as a wrap and asked for the chicken to be fried instead of grilled, was great. We typically go to the Metcalf location but we were in the area so we stopped by for lunch. The restaurant is clean, and has a large amount of seating. It wasn't busy so we were immediately seated and the host was pleasant. My husband had the fish and chips and I had the salmon salad. Both were good, but I do think the portion for the salad is larger at the Metcalf location. The bathroom was clean and the sound level was fine. They have happy hour specials listed also. The waitress was nice but the one thing that made me give it a 4 star is that we felt rushed and our conversation interrupted continuously by the server trying to check to see if my husband was finished eating (I was already finished) and then seeing if we paid yet. He still had a fish and a plate full of fries so it was frustrating. I told her, "I will flag you when we are ready to pay", she worked as the bartender also and was only a few feet away from me. So my husband just paid right then to get it over with and finished his food. That lowered my rating because we felt very inhibited on just relaxing, enjoying our food and talking. read more

Our first time was yesterday, Monday 3/2/26 for lunch. We really thought it was quite good, clean and the server could not have been nicer or more helpful. The wraps were delicious and even the fries were good. Just a suggestion for ownership, I would ask if they get people with their kids. If so I would definitely add Mac and cheese to the menu because every kid loves it and it could also be an option as a side. Very good and we'll be back soon. read more

First time to visit this location - best food and best service of any we have visited. All four of us got a different burger and all were outstanding. The cook on each was just as requested from medium rare for one to medium well for others. Very attentive and friendly service. Shaving a few dollars off prices was the right move as well - pricing being one of the reason we had not been going to BG&B as frequently as we had in the past. Will definitely be returning to this location for sure. (The charge for the extra bbq on the side for a $100 bill was a little petty and is one of those things that needs to be rethought though) read more

We enjoy the location on Metcalf being close to our home, but this location is right by my work. They have daily $10 lunch specials that are great deals and I love about everything on their menu. Their extensive beer offering is amazing, but cannot enjoy that during a work lunch! We went on a Thursday which is the Burger and fries combo special. Their basic cheeseburger comes with cheese, lettuce, tomato and choice of condiments. I ALWAYS get their amazing tots that are perfectly seasoned and crispy, but my coworkers upgraded to the massive onion rings. Between the large 1/2lb burger (cooked perfectly!) and sides none of us could completely finish our plates! I have never had a bad dish at either location. Our server, Chastity, was super nice and helpful and explained everything for the first timers in our group. She and Hailey do a great job and we are looking forward to trying another special! Next time I will take pictures before inhaling the top notch food! The only downside is the place is noisy, since the ceiling is wide open. We always go to Burg and Barrel in OP..but thought we might try the one in Lenexa this time...so happy we did!!! The atmosphere was so fun and comfortable...the food was excellent..but the best was our server OWEN. He was by far one of the attentive and outstanding servers we have ever experienced. He was friendly and anticipated things (condiments, refills, etc) before we even asked for them..this young man is such an asset to this business!! The manager Jon was also outstanding and stopped to speak with us several times..we were so impressed with the staff and quality of this restaurant that we have already booked it for a high-school reunion event! read more

This place really knows how to cook a burger. The patty has a slight char on the outside but still juicy on the inside, which gives rise to something delicious. I got the Gut Bomb, which sounds less than appealing, but it was two expertly prepared beef patties with an over-easy egg on top. It's surprising that more people don't mention Burg & Barrel when talking about great burgers around Kansas City because it definitely ranks high on my list. And when you add in the always friendly staff and atmosphere of the bar, you end up with a place that makes you want to come back again and again. When you call ahead (twice) to ask if a bar will be showing the Super Bowl, and proceed to take last call at 8:30, our party of ten felt mesled. Food was good, service was very mediocre. It wasn't crowded, we just wanted to eat, drink and enjoy the game. Do not recommend. Restaurant was a big open space without being too loud by echoing everyone's voices, but it wasn't crowded yet either. Seemed clean and well maintained too. Food was wonderful. Burgers cooked just how we wanted them, fries just right & not overly salty. Only thing I'd change would be to ask for them to put the goat cheese on the side. The Goyte burger is patty, goat cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, bun - look 4 it on the menu IF you be a GC fan. Tots are tasty with either the included ketchup, or mustard on request. One of their tasty burgers has Peanut butter on it with Carolina Reaper (or maybe Pepperjack depending on location???) and I'm sure that would be a taste explsion of sorts. I tried an item I hadn't had before on the menu, chicken caprese sandwich. The chicken was juicy and loved the combination of tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, and balsamic drizzle! This can give the hamburgers and pork loin sandwich, a run for their money. Debated between tots and sweet potato fries, and wasn't disappointed with my tot selection. I have been eating here for about a year whenever I am out in Lenexa seeing my doctor. Usually eating lunch or early dinner. The menu is really pretty good. It was drawn by the Benny different options for burgers. The two that are my favorite are the PB And tea, which has a spicy jalapeño sauce with peanut butter on the burger, which don't knock it until you try it and a more traditional blue cheeseburger both of which are very good. On my last couple of visits, I tried a chicken sandwich which was very good and a southwest chicken salad with grilled chicken. It also was very good. The staff is usually very responsive very easy in our act with and professional. If you sit at the bar, there are multiple TVs with various sports on the dining room is fairly large with lots of different options. The lighting is not dark, but not bright either and is very Inviting the entire place feels warm and the staff have been nothing but helpful if you were in Southwest Kansas City in the Lenexa area. I would definitely look up Berg and barrel. It is a tremendously good place to eat. read more

My friend and I loved our experience here! The food is phenomenal and the atmosphere is comfortable. This was the perfect spot grab a bite and catch up. I ordered the bourbon glaze burger as a wrap, and I was astounded! The flavors of tasting the burger and toppings in a wrap form was delicious. The burgers are also so juicy that I find the bun doesn't hold up as well as the wrap does - just personal preference - the buns are still great!! Theresa was our server and she did wonderful.
