Salmon

I think this is a great spot if you like chargrilled items. I got the salmon and the sauce on top didn't seem to pair with the salmon. Meatball appetizer was really good! Definitely worth the try if you haven't been.

We all loved our food and the service. The steak frites are a great price and some of the biggest best fresh fries I've had in a while. I would love some more crust/seasoning on my steak but the inside was nice and tender.

Steak & Frites - medium rare flank steak, crispy/crunchy fries and a killer/bomb/awesome aioli dipping sauce.

Food - consistently Excellent! Service - great Ambiance - it's a small ish grill and bar with a great patio for afternoon or brunch. Hadn't been here in a while (as of 5/6/25 and "had" to try the sammy of the day - Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. Bun is soft and yummy, chicken is fried with a light batter, nice thin pickle slices, a hot but not insane seasoning, and great slaw. The star of the show, is the garlic parmesan fries, that are fried in beef tallow. Add these suckers to either a dip of mustard, ketchup or the Aioli that comes with the sandwich - excellent either way. Also, if you are NA (during the day) they make a really good Arnold Palmer. (I combine mine with some bitters for a better flavor.) All in all NOT a cheap lunch nor dinner, BUT like a good pair of shoes, you get what you pay for in quality/savory/salt/acid and taste bud happiness.

Great happy hour menu!

Definite jam for an afternoon happy hour or an evening meal anytime. Western Lenexa is popping with choices but if you want a great vibe and great food, then check out Sierra Grill. Reservations are recommended but you don't *have* to have them, but hey, you can always see if a table is available when you're out and about. High ceilings and an open-style kitchen makes for a chic atmosphere, with a nice long bar that had open seating. The happy hour menu has some fab choices, such as the pork belly tacos, garlic fries with Parmesan, & a phenomenal roasted tomato & goat cheese dip. You can even skip the main menu and just blend a few apps at happy hour for a dinner! But if you want a touch more, then Sierra Grill has some great specialty dishes. The grill is always working and turns out a solid steak, whether ribeye or other, and the braised beef short rib is absolutely worth a try. I'm a sucker for the steak & frites, mostly because I'm a juvenile, but it's fabulous cuts of beef splayed over a crispy bed of fries. I've also sampled their grilled salmon, served up on mashies, and it's spectacular! Pricing is a touch steep, because hey, specialty dishes, and the service is good but not great. The food is definitely worth the visit, though, and when coupled with drink specials it's a great spot. Check it out!

My prime rib sandwich with the best Brussels sonorous ever

I couldn't wait to go back to this establishment after an elite event a while ago. I took a friend and my 3 y/o daughter there for lunch. They do in fact have a kids menu, which had me surprised since this is a higher end business. I ordered my daughter the fancy kids Mac n cheese, she is a fry nut so she thoroughly enjoyed her fries that accompanied the Mac. My friend ordered the steak sandwich. She absolutely loved the garlic fries. She kept raving about them so I had to try them. They were outstanding! I ordered the special which was a prime rib sandwich with bbq sauce and onion rings on it. It was delicious but messy! The onion rings were thin like onion straws. As a side I went with something that I knew this place could make amazing but other places can't- Brussels sprouts! They did not disappoint. This is a nice quiet restaurant. Our server was absolutely amazing. In fact he was so amazing my 3 year old asked if he could babysit her sometime. Such a cute memory. I wish they had one of these in the northland as it's off the beaten path for me but I will venture back as much as I can. It's my new favorite place!

More grisel

I've had their ribeye before and it was great but this time it wasn't. There was so much grisel and very little fat. For what I paid for it I wouldn't recommend it. The rest of the meal was fine however I didn't pay $62 for potatoes and broccoli, it was the steak I wanted.

I sat at the bar as usual. I've been craving this chicken dinner for a month now. It was very delicious..

I must say, Sierra Grill blew me away with their food! We came here for a dinner with my in-laws, and I really had no expectations as I hadn't heard of the restaurant. The service and food was absolutely phenomenal. A great selection of wine and cocktails was an added bonus. We ordered a few appetizers, the smoked & braised beef crostini and the scallop ceviche, both just so fresh and flavorful. Our table tried the ribeye, lamb, and braised short rib and HOLY CRAP. Every single meat was cooked to perfection. We will definitely come back for another special occasion dinner.

Amazing service, great drink selection. Very large portions and specials with quality ingredients. Love the tall windows and creative lighting with drapes. Great for lunch today and beautiful art .

This was the first time I've been back to Sierra Grill since the moved from an old Quiznos off College Blvd. Ambiance is still great and can offer some privacy with their set up! I'd been dreaming about the pork belly and egg sandwich for a while and didn't disappoint. Think fat slab of pork belly that just melts. The short ribs and poutine were nice appetizers also! Definitely didn't not leave hungry and made skipping breakfast worth it!

Steak Frites

I gotta say, I was pretty blown away by the delicious lunch I got at Sierra Grill. As you can see in my amazingly executed photos (hehehe) they made one heck of a plate of steak frites. Like, I mean, I almost wept at the beauty of it. I was at lunch with my coworkers so I didn't ask to take pictures of their food but everyone seemed very pleased and as we were celebrating my birthday, they let me choose a dessert. We chose the chocolate torte and it isn't picture only because i couldn't stop my spoon from delving into its rich chocolatey depths! It was so rich and delicious! The service was great, attentive but not hovering, which I appreciate. The art was also amazing! You can scan the QR code and get a description (and purchase) a lot of the pieces up in the walls. I will definitely make my way back to Sierra Grill!

Salmon Crostini Kalbi Short Ribs Meatballs

I had never heard of Sierra Grill before, so I'm glad I got to check it out! The restaurant isn't huge but they do have a patio and the staff were very nice! We got to taste a bunch of food and I'm glad they gave several options so I'll know what to get next time! Started with the chicken spinach artichoke dip. It was delicious! I definitely went back for 2nds (and 3rds lol). It's only offered in happy hour and I definitely will be getting that next time! The Kali Rib was also really good! It was juicy and the marinade definitely helped! We also tried the salmon crostini and meatball. Those were just okay in my opinion. I like the salmon but just not paired with the crostini and I didn't care for the mozzarella on the meatball. The last thing we tried was the wood fire grilled ribeye. This came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. I loved the mashed potatoes and the meat was tender. The house sangria tasted like it had fresh fruit in it. Didn't get a picture cause I drank it too fast! lol

Her service was five star! bar: I took advantage of their Old Fashioned Friday Happy Hour offering and thought the drink was just fine. Drinks took some time to arrive. appetizers: We started with the Deviled Bacon and Eggs ($9 as of 08/2025) and the Heirloom Tomato Bruschetta ($15 as of 08/2025). For the deviled eggs, the menu description includes candied bacon, which you can see in the photo were thumbnail-sized. More on Grand Street bacon to follow. Did not feel this was good value for the money. My wife ordered a burger, but initially received what appeared to be maybe the Grand Street Stack. Her Grand Street Stack arrived a few minutes after everyone else already had their entrees. Once we figured out she did not receive a burger, she had another long-ish wait while the kitchen made her a burger. Management politely removed the burger from our check. Perhaps of note, the menu describes the bacon as Double Thick Bacon; however, it appeared as regular bacon to us. details: Although the address is Renner Boulevard, the entrance does not face Renner. Our first visit was okay, though we found the drinks to be extraordinarily weak. The server was very nice, and the DJ was great. Unfortunately there's not a designated dance floor and it is so brightly lit no one was dancing when we left at 9:30pm. Despite all that we decided to go back, thinking it would be better on NYE... First, we purchased tickets online AND reserved a table for 6 via the website, but when we arrived we were told they oversold and we could only have a high top with 4 stools. STRIKE 1. I made a reservation for 6, not 4. The event said doors open at 4pm with a complimentary buffet between 6-8pm. The buffet was a salad, lasagna, mac and cheese, chicken strips, and a quesadilla--all of which were delicious. Unfortunately, there was ONE bartender and ZERO servers until after 7pm so we had to go to the bar to order a drink. In fact, no one came to take our order at our table until after 8pm. STRIKE 2. The DJ played some great music but kept cranking up the volume to the point that standing shoulder-to-shoulder we couldn't talk to each other. Additionally, because they oversold, we were surrounded on all sides by people standing around, bumping and brushing by us. STRIKE 3. We ended up leaving around 8:45pm because it was painfully loud, no one was dancing because the area where you would expect dancing was full of people standing around, and we had to take turns sitting/standing because our reservation for 6 was not honored. Sadly I cannot recommend this place.
