Best cold brew I've had in quite some time. The barista was cheerful and knowledgeable... I was grateful for the recommendation, because this drink was seriously good! Such a fun spot inside of ROKC in case you're in the mood to do a little rock climbing! Stopped in on a quiet Wednesday morning (conveniently located next to the DMV). Ample parking and seating. Free wifi- they also serve pastries and hot food dishes. Some pastries made in house, others are Mr D's and Skratch Bakery. I really enjoyed my coffee option- they have great creative flavors! I enjoy apogee a lot. It's definitely one of the most unique spaces since it is connected to the rock climbing gym. It makes it easy to have a post workout meal or wind down after an intense rock climbing session. The space is comfortable and the bar is stocked with some incredible whiskey. The pizzas and salads are solid and definitely the way to go. When I first came here, I was really just expecting coffee but it has so much more. The owner is nice and takes care of his space and make sure his customers are satisfied. I attended an event here as well and it was super smooth which can be hard to do when organizing events with so many people. read more

The Yelpers were on point again. This is a solid spot. I knew I'd love it when I saw the sign that said "coffee pizza beer!" All my favorite things in one spot. Yes, please. It's a cool vibe on the inside. It's next door to a RoKC which probably gets a good corn from there. They have cocktails, food, breakfast, snacks, milk alternatives and gf and veggie options Today I got a latte with oat milk and whiskey caramel syrup. It was good. Got some protein bites. Stopped here for the first time one morning with some friends! When I walked in, most sitting areas were full, so it must be a popular spot! I LOVE Apogee. West Olathe was in desperate need of a place like this - we could use 3 more things like it. Apogee is the only coffee place in the area with what I consider "good vibes." I love the staff - especially Mallory, who is a ray of sunshine. Lots of friendly clientele, too. It is fun that it is connected to the rock climbing gym, so there are a lot of families, young people, etc. in and out all day. Apogee is more than coffee - it actually is a full restaurant, coffee shop, and full bar. I go to Apogee almost weekly during my work day to work for a couple of hours. It is the perfect working atmosphere if you like a little ambient noise in a comfortable environment. I always feel welcome here. The food is good - although it is a small menu. It's basically pizza and a few sandwiches. I do wish they had a bit more. My go to is the lunch special, which is a small personal pizza and side salad. If I'm there in the morning, I get their breakfast burrito, which is also very good. My one piece of constructive feedback - I think it'd be worth putting a menu board up above the bar. People hate QR code menus, and it is confusing to newcomers to not see a menu. Plus, it'd be cute! Definitely give Apogee a try. I waited longer than I otherwise would've because I thought it was going to be like a climbing gym snack bar, but it is much more than that. For all you rock climbing enthusiasts, you won't have to go far to find great refreshments and food. You can visit RoKC to scale the tall wall and then stop into Apogee without even leaving the building. Lots of places are doing great pizza and maybe craft beer, but not every place is doing very well at both. Throw in the fact that Apogee is creating hand-crafted cocktails and kegging them up, and your afternoon or evening has all the makings of enjoyment. Drew was working the front end of the house during our visit, and he could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. I opted for an Irish Feather, Apogee's take on a horsefeather, and it was a spectacular cocktail. I talked to my wife into trying the Paloma, which is a grapefruit margarita that is finished with smoked mescal. The drink was a touch powerful (it was the smoke) for her tastes, so Drew, everpresent, hooked her up with a Paloma sans the smoke and she was ever so happy. The pizza was just right, crust holds the toppings, sauce to the edges, and cooked all the way through. That pizza had to weight three pounds, and two slices is ample for most appetites! It was more than enough to share and then split with a to-go box. Pro tip: Apogee's pizza is really good the next day, and anyone who went to college knows that next-day pizza varies greatly. Do your eats and dranks pre-climb or post, or just stop in for a beer (the local menu is well-represented) or coffee in the working adult hours. Really lovely little spot, conveniently right next to my dogs daycare! They have tons of draft beers, many a whiskey, and I hear also coffee??? Did a take out order of their goat cheese and arugula, and added some sausage. I came in a little early to scope the place out, and was met with really hospitable and apologetic wait staff because my pizza wasn't ready, despite the fact that I arrived 5 minutes earlier than what the order told me to do! Was offered something to drink immediately. Everyone who was dining in seemed to enjoy their food. I did notice that their menu in the establishment was quite bigger than the online menu! We were in the area and decided to stop in and get a beverage based on the good reviews. We were disappointed to say the least. We went to the front counter and were behind another customer and when he left, the barista just walked off and never said a word. She was apparently ending her shift but it would have been nice to tell the next customers that. So after the other barista finished making a beverage for the previous customer he walked over and was not welcoming or friendly either. When I asked about what types of syrups they had for lattes and any choice of sugar free, he answered with a somewhat snarky reply about how they don't do artificial and they only had lavender/honey or vanilla bean. That's fine but the attitude didn't have to come with it and most coffee shops have syrups/flavorings so it's not unusual to ask! Quite a few of the empty tables needed to be cleaned as well. The trash was full and the cushioned chairs were stained in the next room. So the vibe was not good and the service was rude. The only good thing was the coffee was good and the tea. I usually dont write reviews but I felt it was important to bring to light some concerning information regarding the new ownership: bluntly calling transgender people "delusional" and not wanting to affiliate with those who uses they/them pronouns. I watched someone post this exact same concern on Google reviews yesterday and that review has been removed. I would like readers to know this is a coffee shop that lives inside of a rock climbing gym (a community I have been a part of for several years now) - alternative people are loudly welcome at this gym. As time goes by and I witness more and more the dynamics between staff, ownership and the greater gym community, I am simply increasingly disappointed and decreasingly surprised by the views, actions and words of the owners. From their behavior time and again i see that the new ownership does not care to understand the community they think they proudly serve. I genuinely feel for the Apogee staff who have to deal with the disrespect and passive aggressiveness of these new owners. And I feel for the regulars that have been treated with unkindness, used, and ignored. Ownerships now open views towards transgender humans is what has finally brought me to write this here. I very much do not recommend supporting an entity that is okay with discrimination and disrespect. My greatest sympathy reaches out to those who make that entity function as well as it does and have allowed so many positive reviews to exist. Staff, you guys rock. Ownership, do better. read more

Traveling through Kansas and looking for a great climbing place and stopped at ROKC. Well they have this pizza place/bar Apogee in side with outside seating. The team that works here has always been helpful and attentive to the customers from watching. Has sitting inside and a little four table gated porch area that when the weather is nice just brings an even better experience. Started with getting the peanut butter balls and homemade pop tarts (made locally) when started coming here, very tasty and great snack as the team has mentioned to help with after workout or quick little breakfast. Tried the baked chicken wings this past week and the flavor was on point but today the pizza was wow... The Hawaiian pizza had great flavor and the pineapple is not basic pineapple and with the bacon adds extra flavor especially if you enjoy bacon then the candies jalapeños just wow. I love the vibes and the coffee is really solid and reasonably priced. It's definitely getting out of hand when you have to pay $10 with tip for a dang latte. I had a lemon honey lavender latte and the flavor was subtle and light in the best way - it's great in iced form with oat milk. I want to come back to try the food, based on these other reviews! Second time in and as a customer I felt ignored, undervalued, and left frustrated without finishing one beer and leaving ZERO tip (which I literally never do). The customer service was non-existent. The young gal behind the bar was definitely capitalizing on her looks with the older gentlemen at the bar, who were obviously regulars by the rapport between them and the staff. The menu is small and unappealing and the beer selection even smaller. Their regulars can keep enjoying because I highly doubt they will be able to retain any new clientele. Stopped in last Saturday for lunch. First time at this fine spot. My group had a large all meat pizza and small goat cheese pizza. The all meat was phenomenal with what I would consider a medium crust. Crust and toppings very tasty. The goat cheese was average. Best kept secret in Olathe right now. Sounds like they had the bad timing of opening right at the start of Covid. So glad they survived it! Top to bottom the menu is fantastic. There's something for everyone: coffee, pizza, breakfast, cocktails, huge whiskey selection and lots of top craft beers to choose from. I came for early dinner and had the KC BBQ Pizza, it was outstanding! I was so surprised. One of those "eat every bite" type pizzas with amazing crust. Just enough spice and sweet on the sauce. 7" was getting your bang for your buck. Nice indoor and outdoor seating options. Great spot in an unassuming area. Located inside of ROKC, apogee has coffee, cocktails, an extensive tap list (for the size of the place), and some good eats (I've tried the pizza thus far). Check their social media for events like whiskey tastings.
