It was busy but service was fairly fast. Would not recommend the chicken Thai wraps. The flavor and spice was fine but it was a complete salt bomb. Could only eat about half. read more

Great trip to Bar Olathe Saturday for brunch. The Bloody Mary and screwdriver was great and our wrap with fries was fresh and super tasty! Service was quick and attentive! We will be back for a good patio hang out. read more

We visited on a Tuesday evening, so it wasn't super busy, which will be important in a moment. We ordered some nachos, southwest eggrolls, cheese curds, and a couple cocktails. Everything tasted great other than the nachos that were just okay. Now, the fact that it wasn't super busy plays HEAVILY into my rating. The wait staff checked on us once after the food was first delivered...and then I waited 25 minutes from when we finished eating until the wait staff came near our table again for us to flag them down to get the bill. I don't know how long we ate, but that 25 minutes was after we actually finished eating. I shouldn't have to wait that long to pay you for your services. Good food and drinks, could use better service. read more

We kinda hated our food from here. The burgers were okay, but the other stuff was very sad. We picked up after ordering online. We live very close. The fries were limp, soggy undercooked. The onion rings had no flavor in the batter. It was like the opposite of flavor. The wings were okay, maybe they get them preseasoned because I think they are the only thing we got that had a little bit of seasoning on them. We honestly were fighting over who HAD to eat the leftovers. I guess there's a reason there were like ZERO patrons there around noon on a Saturday. read more

Unfortunately, the service during our visit was very poor. The bartender was the only person handling customers, and there appeared to be no wait staff available. As a result, service was extremely slow and felt complacent rather than attentive. While I understand staffing challenges happen, there was little communication or effort to manage expectations. We waited far longer than reasonable for basic service, which significantly impacted the experience. I hope management addresses staffing and service standards, as this visit did not meet expectations. read more

Very accommodating service. Good specials, had the hamburger nachos for $8. Potato skins were very hefty. Lettuce wraps were flavorful with a zesty sauce. Definitely bar ambiance with TVs galore. Great place to relax and watch a game. Bacon jam burger is a blast ! read more

Better than bar food! We usually get carry out but the food has always come out quick, prices are reasonable, and everything I've tried has been delicious. The bartenders are always friendly, attentive, and quick to help, even when they're busy! read more

I love this place, quality food, excellent service, and a great place to watch a game. Feels like home!

Not gluten free friendly. Was in town visiting family and simply asked what I could order that was GF. Was told the cooks speak Spanish so they cannot understand the word gluten free. The only thing on their menu that is GF is a bun.. but nothing that you would put on the bun. The server seemed put off for me even asking what I could eat. Typically I can at least order a piece of grilled chicken anywhere. Would avoid at all costs if you have food sensitivities. read more

Great Service !!! Beer is cold and Plaza 3 Steak soup is amazing! Great spot for sports and relaxed atmosphere

For bar food it's ok. Service not terrible. The bar layout to me is not ideal and makes the spotlight on an average bar setup. Location is very busy to be driving after a couple of beers. Overall the okayiest bar i've been to. Maybe that's why they named it the bar. That's clever! read more

I recently visited The Bar in Olathe for 'Taco Thursday' though I'm now not finding any evidence of this being an ongoing occurrence online. I'm actually not even seeing tacos on their menu, so without a picture, I would have thought I made this up. I ordered off-the-menu black bean tacos / modified the tacos to be more 'vegan' and appreciate that the staff/kitchen was willing to do so. These were pretty good and as you'd expect tacos to be. With 5 locations across the KC area, The Bar is a good spot with a wide selection menu options. read more

Sometimes when one thing is really bad, no matter how good other things are, it will never make up for that one bad thing. I was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by and get some food, as it was next to the T-Mobile store I visited. Let me say, this place was packed on a Friday. It had an older, mostly male crowd, and most of the folks I saw there were more into their clique than mingling. What can you say, I'm a mingler. Whether I go to bars with a couple of friends or by myself (if I want to get out of the house), I like to talk to other folks. So, while the atmosphere was near raucous, it was also segregated to their groups, but I find that a bit of the KC atmosphere. If you want the "Cheers" experience when hitting your local bar, this is not for you, at least south of the 435. Anyway, what ruined any positive experience for me was the service. At best, my server seemed exasperated, at worst she was simply just rude. It was clearly the worst service I've experienced in KC. There were several things that made her the worst server. 1. She was very curt, with a condescending attitude and always ended what she said with a sigh, as if she did not like talking to people. 2. She was allergic to smiles....and strangely, making eye contact. 3. She would not stop at my table, even when dropping off food. She would plop the drink or food as if I were a stop and her bus did not stop at my table. I was actually glad that she stopped only a few times at my table as her attitude just got more on my nerves every time she rolled on by. As for the food, it was okay, but even if it were 5 stars (it's not), I will definitely not come back. I MUCH prefer the Other Place, which is just as busy...but with servers who actually want to be there. read more

Do not EVER come here for a 21st birthday celebration. Came here for my brother's birthday and the waiter tried to tell us he was not 21 after reading the outdated battery powered sign on the wall with the wrong date. The waiter then proceeded to check his ID several times and confirmed it was not expired and he was of age. We were under the impression he would be brought a beer until the manager told us this would not be happening due to law when it was really company policy (didn't have paper ID). This was wrong for them to lie to us. She offered us a free meal and we decided to stay. When we were submitted the bill, no free meal was provided. They conned us into staying to pay money for food. We were lied to and will never be back at this restaurant again. Please tell your friends. read more

Food always good, service excellent. Reasonable prices. Friendly casual bar. Karaoke fun for everyone.

I visited The Bar this week to meet up with some friends and unfortunately, it was not great. The experience was also dampened by staff and patrons smoking on the patio while we tried to enjoy our meal. I ordered the Southwest Burger cooked to medium, and a side of fries. The burger lacked any real spice or heat, despite being topped with jalapenos and pepper jack cheese. The jalapenos were from a jar or can, and were piled on the burger ice cold. It was a decent bar burger, but nothing I'd seek out. The fries looked delicious, but were super greasy, soggy, and under-cooked. They looked great when they initially arrived to the table, but I ended up leaving 3/4th of them behind. Overall, there are better options in this part of Olathe. I'd probably give this a three star rating despite the food issues, but allowing staff and patrons to smoke on the patio where I'm trying to eat isn't for me. read more

Decent happy hour specials, and they have a reverse happy hour too. Opted for beef nachos on the happy hour menu, no milk products. Came out quick, and they were hot. I did ask for a side of large salsa too. Plenty of beef, and fresh onion and scallion. Filling to chip ratio was well done too. Service was fast, prompt, and they checked on us many times during our night. I'm sure we'll be back, since this is just in our neighborhood! read more

I really like the patio here. It's quiet, well lit and there aren't any TVs which makes for a nice break from the atmosphere inside where it's hard to focus on conversation. Drinks we cheap and I haven't had an issue with it being too busy. I wish they had darts or some sort of games, but I haven't seen this in any of them, so I can't fault them too much! read more

This place has good service, we typically have a great time on Karaoke Wednesdays, most of the people here are regulars (at least on Wednesdays) and it's a great crowd! The food is hit and miss here, we always get the Beef Sliders and Fries and today they managed to mess them both up. I sent the burnt fries back and I received another order that was the same or worse than the one I sent back. At least the green beans were OK. Karaoke nights are a fun experience, make sure you come check them out on Wednesdays from 8pm to Midnight. read more

I've been craving a burger so I got the cheddar bacon burger and fries and fried pickles as an appetizer. The burger was pretty good, it needed a some kind sauce or aioli or something. It was lacking in flavor a little but other than that not a bad burger. The fries were terrible, how do u have bad fries?! They're literally the easiest thing anyways yeah fries were trash honestly. The fried pickles were pretty good, not super crispy tho, the ranch they served w them was good. Overall the vibe was nice I liked the atmosphere there. Overall food rating is 6.5/10, big part of it is how do u have bad fries if the fries were better rating might been higher but those fries were disappointing read more

I love The Bar! I live in Texas but always make time to visit when I'm in Olathe. The food is delicious (try the loaded fries!) and the customer service is top notch. Recently I was looking to buy some gift cards for my family in Olathe. I called and spoke with Kaylie, and she not only helped me with the gift cards over the phone, but she offered to mail them directly to my family members so they'd arrive in time for Christmas. Seriously stellar service, and it was so much appreciated! I can't wait to visit again! read more

First time at The Bar Olathe for Brunch today( Sat). We were seated as soon as we walked in. Waitress soon arrived after we were seated. Food was great and arrived in record time. Seemed like a fun crowd there for brunch. Great first time experience, and can't wait to go back again! read more

I had a very good experience during lunch at this new sports bar. My west wrap with sweet potato fries ($8 plus $1 for side upgrade) was served with a smile just 12 minutes after I ordered. It was generously sized, with an adequate portion of tasty chicken along with fresh veggies. The sweet potato fries were nice and unique, with plenty of sweet potato goodness. I liked the friendly service, and I was checked on by a manager to make sure everything was okay. The interior was nicely sized, with a large U-shaped bar area, a spacious, divided seating area, a good mix of booths and tables, a TouchTunes jukebox, a patio, TVs all around the perimeter, and 70's/80's background music (not too loud), although I didn't notice any bar games. The menu pricing was reasonable, while daily food and drink specials and a happy hour were also available. Very nice. read more

I always get the Reuben. I'm sensitive to meat's texture and gristle and this sandwich has never disappointed. It's my go to when I'm craving a Reuben. Really good! This is definitely your typical 'bar food' scene, but somehow elevated at the same time. We live close by so we usually order carry out, but we have also taken our 2-year-old and dined in and it was a great experience. Great place for bar food! I love their big booths that offer some privacy and help with the noise in a crowded sports bar. I've been twice and had good experiences both times. The last time we went we ordered chips and queso. They served us gravy instead of queso. Our waitress was bubbly and fun and we all had a good laugh over chips and gravy (btw-I do not recommend). January 2020: This was our first time here and the food was ok, the atmosphere is cool, but the service was very bad. We sat there for 30 minutes before a waitress stopped by our table to even get our drink orders. Our burgers were dry even though we ordered medium. When we did get a waitress, she kept making excuses. Won't be coming back. *update September 2020: tonight was much much better. Our server (Alex I think was his name) checked on us several times & the food was better. The food is nothing to write home about, but it's decent bar food. The atmosphere is still cool. Lots of tv's so it's great for a football game. It was as clean as any other restaurant during covid. No social distancing at the bar, but the way the booths are set up make for good social distancing. read more
