Service was slow this time for the large group. Everything still good. Server was pleasant and setting nice for our group of eleven.

Another KC brunch fail. It's not that this restaurant is bad but all KC breakfast places follow the same bad formula. Overall, Kansas City doesn't understand breakfast. First, the Bloody Mary's had no alcohol in them. The Belgian Waffles were loaded with sugar. You didn't need to add syrup. And yet again another KC restaurant that doesn't know how to make biscuits and gravy. The gravy you put on chicken fried steak is NOT sausage gravy. Service was extremely slow, server carried all of our drinks by hand and some were held against her chest because she was carrying so many. She was very nice but was chatting a lot with another booth so ignored us and our needs. Food took a long time, I had ordered Buffalo chicken wrap, it did not come out with everyone else's order at the table. Our server walked by and questioned that I did not have my meal yet. So, she went and found my meal. My buffalo chicken wrap had no buffalo sauce on it, and since my server was chatting up the next table, I took it upon myself to walk up to the kitchen to get buffalo sauce. It took a long time to get our ticket. Probably won't be coming back. Everyone else's food at the table was good. read more

So disappointed, it seemed to be an inconvenience when the hostess (manager) went to seat us as my wife is in a wheelchair, once seated we waited 40 minutes to have our order taken, asked for the manager and she finally came 50 minutes later and denied everything and never apologized. . Overall we had a good experience. The food was good and had good taste. The quantity for the price was not comparable in my view. There was something wrong with all our drinks. I believe it was at the soda level as maybe flat or the carbonation was off. Our server even confirmed there was something not right with the taste even after he replaced all our drinks. He did his best and can say he tried his best to make it right but when it's off it's off. The place was clean and looked well spaced. I called this morning to make sure I could watch my team's game. All was good until half time when the channel suddenly changed to another game. A person tried changing it back but couldn't. She said she would look into it. No one ever came back. I asked the waitress to find out what happened, and after a long period of time, I was told that another customer had requested a different game and to be fair (in their words), they let me watch the first half of mine and the other person watch the other half of theirs. Excuse me???? I was there early, and I was there first. If at any time I was told I wouldn't be able to watch my FULL game, I would have gone somewhere else. The manager should have come back to tell me that and not put it on the server. Imagine if you were a Chiefs fan, and they wouldn't let you watch the 2nd half of the game because someone else wanted to watch another. Never again. Do better, sports bar! Until then, my business goes elsewhere. read more

Been twice, had food once. Was good and adds to Olathe community, however this 2nd visit was a disaster. After an hour waiting for our order, the manager came over and said "you cant say anything I haven't heard. We are having major growing pain." She went to check in order and never returned, we left after 90 mins!!! The restaurant location in Olathe needs attention by others from their other locations. We will give it a month and try again but this one may wane quickly if management is not Update 1/31/20 - the issue use are being worked out. Service on the bar dude is much better than "over on the other side". The good is still solid, live the smothered ribeye. Keep improving and I will keep coming back. Increased to 4 star! read more

Terrible experience. Horribly lazy management and kitchen staff. Ordered a sandwich plain, came out with everything in it. Sent it back, they simply took off the toppings and brought it back out. Advised them there was a tomato allergy and that's why we asked for it plain. They sent out the same sandwich, yet again, with an additional piece of cheese on top. We had a direct view of the kitchen staff doing this and the manager approving it. They thought it was funny. Manager never came to talk to us and it was not removed from our check. This place is very poorly managed from what it seems. Our first experience here, we came on Sunday to watch a chiefs game! Got brunch, service was meh, food is usually decent here. All of the sudden, the tv in our booth we are watching the chief on, our local nfl team, is changed. When we asked a server about it we were met with a horrible attitude saying "well there's a bunch of other TVs here not everyone wants to watch the chiefs"... tabbed out and left as our seat didn't have a good view of the other TVs. Next time we came about a year later, we tipped cash and the server put in an incorrect charge tip. When we went in to correct this, the server proceeded to know exactly what we were talking about, paid us cash, then pointed to us while gossiping with his co workers. Avoid this place at all costs, seedy employees, trash service, maybe if you get to-go food it's alright but even then, it's overpriced anyway. Don't go here. read more

This place is trashy!!! Their bartender got in a fight with a customer and their manager chased after a customer and called the customer very ugly names. All of these actions happened right in front of me and other customers. The night that this happened it took an hour and a half to get my food and it came out cold. I never got the drinks I asked for on multiple occasions and ended up having to go up to the bar to get it. The staff and service at this restaurant are poor. read more

Very cold beer, love the aluminum cups! The customer sitting next to me had nachos and they looked really good so I ordered them. Can't believe it was the same thing, mine were meat skimpy and soggy when they arrived. Husbands pork tenderloin was very good!! read more

We went there last night for a birthday celebration. Our waitress was awesome. Food and drinks were great. We had some issues with the bartender Amanda though. Worst chicken wrap ever ! 1/2 had no chicken, only lettuce the other half was not edible. It was basically soy sauce with a tiny bit of chicken. It was also freezing inside and took over an hour to get appetizer and dinner. Wings were served fast (before drinks) and were luke warm, which probably means they were not cooked to order. Even after getting a sweatshirt from car teeth still chattered. Music was too loud to even have a conversation. First time at a restaurant I asked for water only got an empty cup but no water. My friend also got a cup, but when asked to have it filled with water, the cup was taken away never to be seen again. read more

First time we ate here was horrible. The service was awful and food was terrible. Second time here and service gets a 10. Today the food was hot and delivered fast to the table. The food here is mediocre at best. We live close by so I've gone more than once just out of convenience. I try to order something new thinking "I'm just ordering the wrong thing". The nachos we tried were a giant plate of burnt chips with barely anything on them. The last visit I got a wrap that was okay, but the 10 French fries I got were so saturated in grease I couldn't eat them. Even my kids got a grilled cheese and didn't like it. I love the Ultimate BLT. My concern is that there is no signs of safety measure for Covid. No employee wearing masks, no wiping down doors, and no seats socially distanced. I am being more cautious who We go to. This one will stay off list for awhile due to their lack of care and safety read more

Just left on a Tuesday night at roughly 7pm. We showed up at around 6. In that time we were served 2 beers and an appetizer, we were never asked for our food order. We ended up just asking for our check and leaving, we went to Coachs instead to get additional food because we aren't gonna beg to be able to order. We are new to town and menu looked delicious so we were excited to try the food as they are 5 minutes down the road from our house. They seemed busy, but not swamped, there was no wait for a table or anything. But would not recommend after our first experience with them. read more

First time. Sunday brunch...not many customers. We had a horrible waitress. Not sure why since there were not many customers. We ordered a couple Modelos and fried pickles for an appetizer. The fried pickles were SOAKED in grease. There was literally standing grease in the bottom of the serving bowl. The Club Sandwich was not good-bacon was hot and the turkey was ice cold-not good together. Waited 10 minutes after our glasses were empty(!!!) to find our waitress to give us the check and finally asked another male waiter (very attentive and doing half our waitresses job) to give us our check (which was wrong). We have been there twice in the past 3 days. All I can say is yummy! Between my husband and I we've had a burger, pork t sandwich, reuben sandwich, rib eye and funnel cake fries. They have all been great and we'll definitely get all of those again. Servers have been very pleasant. Wait time hasn't been bad. They've had some hiccups with deliveries and machinery, but hey, stuff happens. Already thinking of what I'll have next time. Austin's used to be a go to, but thinking that will change. read more

Decided to visit three times before writing a review - since they have only been open since November 11. The bartenders are great - very friendly - but very busy. Each time I've been there are 2 bartenders (with no bar back) so they are busy with the large beer selection and taking good orders...bar has been full each time. Lots of TV's so you won't miss any portion of your favorite game. The menu has lots of options but it takes way too long and by the time it comes to my table the temperature was not very hot and pools of grease had formed. My most recent visit had my wait 45 minutes for sliders (and the place was only half full. I'd love to give a better review because I love the location ...but until the time to get food from the kitchen is reduced to more normal timing the best I can give is 3 stars. read more

First timer! A friend of mine and I wanted to check this conveniently located restaurant out. A warm greeting upon arrival, but then the service just tapered off as our time there carried on. We noticed at lunch time it gets quite busy. And between our server and another one, they seemed to be neglecting tables including our table. The food was delivered warm and it was just okay! It took our server like 25 minutes to return our payments and for lunch time service that is quite a wait! Overall the location is great, the atmosphere to watch sports is awesome. I always like to try a place at least two times before I give it a poor review. So here it goes..........we went for brunch today and the food was terrible. After waiting for 30 minutes to get our food it was room temperature. I had pancakes, scrambled eggs , and bacon. The pancakes were so cold the butter would not melt and cold scrambled eggs are not very tasty either. The first time we went I had the nachos and I actually think they added salt to the chips. They were way too salty. I would like to say that the service we had was great. Very friendly and attentive. I was really hoping that it would be a place we could go 2-3 times a month since it is so close. I hope things get turned around. read more

It seems to be a theme in this state that male bar tenders are more attentive and on top of filling drinks than females. The male bartenders have been great to my boyfriend and I, with quick service and keeping drinks filled. The females like to ignore my drink orders. The food is alright, typical bar food. I've been here three times since it opened. I'm really happy to have more food options closer to my neighborhood. I've had good service and the food is pretty good. My favorite are the chicken nachos and the sweet potatoes fries. My hubby has had a burger and few times and enjoyed it. It's always pretty busy but I've never had to wait long for a seat. read more

I have tried to get food here on 3 separate occasions. All 3 times I got the same message, "we're short staffed". I know they just opened and I get it, new location, new employees. Also not a big fan of seeing the servers who handle my food along with the manager "vaping" constantly on the job. extremely gross and unprofessional and probably a health violation of some sort. Been here 3 times in the past 2 months or so, and was only able to get seated and eat once. The other two times I had to leave after standing in the doorway, while literally 4 servers made eye contact with me, and didn't even bother to let me know if there would be a wait, or if they just didn't feel like seating me. Either would have worked, I'm a flexible guy. The place was nearly empty both times too. Either put a sign right in the doorway that says "don't bother" or just lock it. That way people don't have to deal with the disrespect The Bar dishes out hot and on time. There is another bar literally 2 minutes away that is stellar. Do not come here. read more

The servers at The Bar think customers should be so glad to get to be there. Wait staff was literally just hanging out at the bar while tables were needing refills, or service. Someone asked to talk to a manger, and what do you know? It was one of the women hanging out at the bar. We have been here three times and service was bad, better, then worse. Ok, so we've tried lunch and dinner here. Lunch was a cluster F with a "manager" try to be our server who had no idea. Dinner is all about what they want, it seems, rather than what the customer wants. Don't ask how I want my burger cooked? Only tell me after asking that they cook to medium well. Deal with it. Tots side order was short, but same amount as the also up-charged sweet potato fries. We got a huge bowl of more tots, but that's all the fries you get. Server was rare to see and not apologetic. That's just how it is here. Medium well is your only option unless you catch her before she runs off. Pluses - sweet potato fries come with marshmallow dipping sauce! And they comped an over cooked burger. Take your chances. I hear they can be fun and great?!? read more
