The Is a neighborhood sports bar that has several locations across the Metro. Some friends and I were at the Olathe location which is one of their smaller locations but have a really nice layout. I've rarely had a subpar experience at any of the locations nor was the case on this trip. I had the classic Three wings and fries and a couple tasty beverages and a lot of awesome camaraderie and fun! I really do think they have the best if not one of the top 3 chicken wings in the city. The bartenders are always nice and they keep the drinks full! The peanut is one of the few places that have been able to keep their prices moderate and their quality intact. read more

I've stopped here now twice while on travels to the Olathe area. The Peanut came highly recommended and it does not disappoint. The biggest issue I've had is what to order, but I'm all for consistency. On both trips I've gotten the wings and the BLT. The wait for the wings is worth it and there's always plenty to leave for a future snack. I love the decor and have sat at the bar on both stops. Service is attentative and they have a nice selection of drinks and beer. If you want to eat like a local, this is the place! read more

The peanut offers some of the best bar food in Kansas City. There isn't much to the place but that's what makes this place so special to me. This is a great bar to go and watch sports plenty of TVs and the service and food is always great. They are most known for their wings and BLTs. The BLTs are piled high with toppings and you can get a triple decker and add some add ons as well. The chicken wings are the full wings and by far the best and biggest wings you can get in Kansas City. I have been to the peanut many times and it never disappoints. They have many items on their menu that are fantastic. The nachos are another great item on their menu. Think about going to the peanut next time for either dinner or going to watch the game. You will be surprised by their food and there is a great vibe and service to the establishment. read more

Our neighborhood bar. It's got mediocre food, and mediocre service but we always keep coming back. Wings do take a while, around 20 minutes, and you can get them naked, buffalo or bbq. Idk what their ranch is made of, but I could drink it, it's so creamy. Bartenders are friendly if you're needing to sit at the bar for a drink and take out. It's usually not too busy, but on certain nights the way could be 30 min and it's highly disorganized to try to get a table. read more

Fortunately, I didn't break a tooth or swallow it -- and there certainly are worse things to find in one's food. But when I called the restaurant (it was a pickup order) to give them a heads-up, I have yet to receive a follow-up response nearly a week later. looking for a bite after the chiefs sunday afternoon game to watch the sunday night game. The Peanut popped up as a "local sports bar" chain with good reviews & location was close. TONS of TV's ALL around & all tuned to the game, not a bad seat in the house! menu is much as you'd expect from a sports bar. cant speak to drinks or beer - we were there to eat. i like pork tenderloin sammies - something popular in MO but not much in TX so i decided to try that. hubbie was torn between a burger & ine if the specials mac n' cheese with fried pork belly. he opted for the later. my sammie was fine - hot & crisp pork - but nothing to write home about flavorwise. hubbie was surprised to find his mac n' cheese was sweet! is that a thing in the area? it was kinda strange & kinda worked with salty pork belly - but kinda offputting. some of the pork was tender but a lot of it wasnt. we also ordered mini corn dogs as an app it came with honey mustard for dipping. we enjoyed them, they were hot & crisp and didnt get soggy after they cooled off. i could see this as being a great spot if you wanted to watch a game out & grab a drink & a bite while doing it. waitress was adequate. read more

I'm a big fan of the Peanut, and have been to most of the locations at least one time. I know the ones downtown are owned by a different group (Peanut Midwest versus Original Peanut), so I will leave those out of my comparison. My usual Peanut is the one at 127th and Metcalf, so I will be using that one to compare it to. The ambiance. What I like about the Peanut on 127th is that it feels like a dark dive bar with awesome wood paneling and ancient dusty beer signs, but it is in South OP. The Peanut Olathe tries to emulate that feel, but it is too bright in there, the beer signs look too new, and the look/feel just isn't there for me. There are too many high top tables and not enough booths and low tops tables for my liking. I thought the neon "NO FARTING" sign above the bathrooms was an appetizing choice given their proximity to multiple tables and the bar. The food. I thought the wings were as good as their other locations. The wings are always hot, huge, well sauced, and the best in town. The fries tasted burnt and were overdone. We also split an order of onion rings, and the batter was thin and falling off. Totally different batter than the 127th location. The group was split on the fries, with some saying the 127th location's fries are too lightly done for their liking and they preferred them overdone, but all agreed the onion rings here were totally not good and not at all the same. The service was good, and the same as I've experienced at the 127th location or other Peanut Midwest locations. Overall, a nice addition to this area. read more

We have been to our local Olathe Peanut many times since it opened. We love their wings BUT tonight, the wings seemed much smaller than usual. The service was not great and our server was not very attentive. The one thing that frustrated us were all the extra charges - an extra $0.75 for honey mustard. We asked for a side of ranch and they brought us two sides and then charges us $1.50 ($0.75 each). I would have preferred better communication and although we don't mind paying extra for the sauce, at least bring what we asked for and not more, especially if you are charging extra for each side of sauce. read more

If your into wings, the peanut is the place to be. I live down the road from this location and I don't typically see myself in bars to often for dinner. The peanut is slightly different due to their amazing wings. The best part is the wings are lathered in their own buffalo sauce blend that makes it take unique. It's always fried to perfect and the best part is the size of these bad boys since they do not cut the flats from the drums. All this together and you have one of the better traditional wings in the Midwest. I prefer to order them there Vs take home and I also suggest getting the waffle sweet potato fries with your wings. They are bomb. My wife enjoyed her food as she got a simple blt that was done correctly. The 4 stars is specifically towards the wings. The food probably is more basic if you go towards a burger or another dish just fyi. Overall, I'll totally come back for the wings and see why it's a must try here in Kansas read more

The Peanut is a classic Kansas City destination and a must have whenever we are in town. This is a perfect sports bar to have a cold brew and get something to eat. I visited on my own when I was in KC and it was so good I've been back twice since with family members when I've gone back to KC. I love the chicken wings as they are much different than you get anywhere else. The blue cheese dip is blended with other herbs and ingredients and it is smooth and not chunky. I've had their chili, and it was really good. And I've I've had their chili cheese fries and they're good too. The family concurs. They love this place. read more

So another sports bar what's new, well il tell you probably the best chicken wings iv ever had. I don't know where they get these but these ain't chicken wings they are pterodactyl wings they are huge, I'm a decent size guy 6'3 maybe 220lb and I can barely eat a half dozen. The Buffalo wings are solid but man I fiend for their tiger sauce. Definitely recommend their chicken wings with tiger sauce it's so good. The Peanut has been around Kansas City since Prohibition days, when it existed as a speakeasy. Now it's a family friendly restaurant with quality bar and grill menu options operating in seven different locations (three in Missouri; four in Kansas). I've been visiting The Peanut's various locations for the past 14 years, but this review will be specific to their Olathe location, which opened a year or two ago, just under 2 miles from my house. Like I said, I've eaten at The Peanut Olathe MANY times, and it's always on our list of options when my wife and I decide we don't want to cook. Our most recent visit was on a Sunday after church. My family of four walked in and had a table within minutes. It took a bit for my out-of-town daughter to make a choice, but once she did, our server was ready to take our orders and make sure we had all we needed. I almost always order the wings when I go here, but on the weekends they have a brunch menu, and I love their sausage gravy, so I opted for that. My wife ordered the Cuban sandwich and loved it. One of my daughters had her "usual" burger order and the other ordered a different burger, which came on Texas Toast. Both of their hamburgers were cooked to a perfect medium. Each of my three gals raved about their choices, and each was satisfied with only half of their respective sandwiches, which means we left with three extra meals. WINNING! As I was paying the bill I thought to myself, "You know, this place is really great. It's nothing fancy, but it's fun. The food is ALWAYS consistent, and what they do, they do very well." Chain restaurants aren't always my thing, but this KC owned and operated chain is outstanding. We'll keep coming back. read more

This is a great place for a great meal. They are know. For their wings. However I recommend the burger instead. I have had both and their wings didn't really do much for me. However the burgers are phenomenal. Ambiance is fun, a bit on the loud side, and always expect a crowd so get there early. I think the only downside side is that it is obvious they are having the same issues others have and has always seemed short staffed when we go in. The wait staff seems as if they are overly busy. HOWEVER they bust their tail to help you out. So we know they are good. read more

Great new location! Menu varied and TV's numerous for the sport you want (the bartender changed channel for the game we wanted). Fried pickles were ordered and enjoyed. The Mac-n-cheese topped w breadcrumbs was exceptional. Happy to know there are grilled chicken options to top off salads....and really liked mine. Great for groups or small parties - feels more like a bar (at least on a Saturday night). Pepsi products- FYI Wasn't sure when we arrived whether we needed to be seated, or do-it-yourself. A couple different parties just stood around without direction for awhile. Finally we were seated, but had to wait awhile to be noticed. Will return! read more

All the food came out very hot, and it was all delicious and great quality. I ordered a couple margaritas that were actually very good. The wings are a must, as are the tots. Love their homemade dressings and dips, especially the blue cheese. Love the thick cut bacon they serve on the salads. read more
