I was there for an event so It hard for me to do an official review. The area is very nice and cozy. Reminds me a lot of being at a CO resort. The event we were at had salad for starter. It was a good mix of greens and was fresh. The main course was a choice between, Salmon, Chicken and Steak. Again I don't want to rate it on the food my steak was over cooked and tough, I know that since it was a group event that it would be better if I was there to just eat. Dessert was some of the chocolate cake that I have heard about. Again with he group setting it was on the dry side. I will definitely go back and try it out on its own.

Celebrated a special day at this amazing restaurant. We made a reservation ahead of time and had some request for a bit of view certain dietary restrictions in They make sure that everything was taken under consideration. I can bet that this is one of the finest fine dine restaurants in Lenexa there are some other options in the downtown but obviously this place has its own charm with the white view. Amazing sunset, spacious, great parking. This restaurant takes special care for the food. The chefs are extremely creative and the tasting menu changes pretty often. We got to try some of their specials for the month and we were extremely satisfied with it very humble and respectable service. We are definitely going to go back there to celebrate something else.

FPO and I always celebrate New Year's Eve by finding somewhere to watch the last sunset of the year. This year we decided to splurge with a fancy dinner too. The ambiance of Silo Modern Farmhouse was classy casual and very appealing. Our server was Sophie and she was phenomenal. Sophie's actually the reason I'm giving Silo three stars instead of one. She was friendly and personable, very knowledgeable about the menu. The food .. was meh. I wanted to like it more than I actually did. I really wanted to like it because of the atmosphere and service. It was just disappointing. Everything else about the restaurant was really nice. The food wasn't worth the price. FPO and I got the Brie Spinach and Brussel Sprouts dip for an appetizer and added crab and lobster. For the entree we got the Tomahawk Steak for Two. It came with Caesar Salad and two sides. We got the Cous Cous and Leeks and Mushroom. We also added the Roasted Brussel Sprouts. The Caesar Salad was a few pieces of whole Romaine leaves with the dressing on top, a crostini on the side, and what I think were fried anchovies used as a garnish. The presentation looked really pretty but the flavors didn't impress. The Cous Cous was mushy with too strong of a bell pepper presence; the Brussel Sprouts were soggy, and the leeks and mushrooms were just okay. The Brie dip had some pieces of wrapping from the cheese still in it and then fried pita was chewy. Sophie informed her kitchen and the manager came over. It was she who told us what we found in the dip. She offered a free dessert or to comp our drinks. (We pulled Sophie aside to ask her to make sure the manager understood what she was offering. We'd gotten a really nice bottle of Greenwing Cabernet Sauvignon.) In the end we chose the drinks. I just wasn't in the mood to try anymore food. The Tomahawk Steak was overcooked. We ordered medium rare, it was closer to medium. It was also under seasoned. Oh, and we found out when we got home, when the restaurant packed up our leftovers, the didn't include the huge steak bone with all extra meat still on it. I don't think they can reuse it for anything and it bothers me that they would've just thrown it away. All in all, it was a disappointing experience. I won't go back.

If you're looking for an upscale dining spot that nails both the vibes and the flavors, The Silo--perched right on the golf course near Lenexa City Center--is an absolute must-visit. This place isn't just on my list... it basically owns the list. I've been here several times, and without fail, the dishes are nothing short of incredible. Whether you're in the mood for a stacked sandwich, a perfectly crisp flatbread pizza, fresh scallops, dreamy seafood, or a steak that makes you close your eyes on the first bite--The Silo has every craving covered. And listen... do not skip the appetizers. The whipped goat cheese plate? Life-changing. I'm talking local honey, mustard seed, and pure happiness on a plate. It's my personal favorite and honestly worth the trip all by itself. Want to try even more without breaking the bank? Hit their happy hour. It's the perfect excuse to "sample" (aka devour) a little bit of everything. The ambiance is just as impressive: stunning windows with golf course views, thoughtful design details throughout, and a balcony for outdoor dining when the weather's feeling friendly. It's classy without being stuffy, and comfortable without losing that upscale feel. Bottom line: The Silo is a one-of-a-kind gem you absolutely don't want to miss. Go hungry, leave happy, repeat often.

Got to look at the menu again. Love Brussels sprouts

We had a relatively good experience here. We came for our anniversary and had a reservation. We were promptly seated and the waiter was attentive, he wished us a happy anniversary. Later in the night though, he asked us if we were celebrating anything and we had to repeat that it was our anniversary. An honest mistake though as I know he had a lot of tables. The food was super delicious and came out pretty quickly. We did feel like we waited quite a while between seeing the menu and the waiter coming back, but they were busy. It was a bit of a bummer as the couple next to us had their anniversary too and we overheard them offered champagne on the house. We had no such luck, but ended up buying our own bottle. We paid for a dessert as well. A small gesture would've been nice especially knowing they offered it to some other folks. My husband loved his salmon, and my scallops were a delight. I think my favorite part was the appetizer, which was a tasty spinach artichoke dip with brussels. We would maybe come back again for a special occasion as the prices are high but I think the quality justifies it.

We love this place! The ambiance was great. Classy interior as you'd expect for a golf course then also an amazing outside view getting to overlook the course. I had the chicken dinner plate. It was so good. Whenever we go back it's going to be hard to get something other than that. We also split this 11 layer chocolate cake that we loved. Highly recommend Silo!

I heard so many good things about this place... great sunset views, great farm to table foods, and that service was amazing. It was mostly true when we went on New Year's Eve. We did like our waitress, Sophie, and she was attentive. The food was jus ok for us. The sunset was amazing! We always try to get a pic of the last sunset of the year and this place had a great view. Sophie was patient with us since this was our first time. She offered the specials, but we continued to look over the menu. We ordered the $15 brie spinach and brussel sprouts appetizer and added the $8 crab and lobster. We did like that. We also got the $48 bottle of the Greenwing by Duckhorn Cabernet wine. The dip came with crostini and fried pita. The pita tasted stale & slightly soggy like it sat in the oil too long and left out. We told Sophie and she brought us more crostini. We later found out that she charged us $4 for the extra crostini. For dinner we opted for the $150 tomahawk steak for 2 that came with a cesar salad and 2 sides and added the blue cheese butter. New Year's Eve, why not splurge right? We chose the leeks and wild mushrooms and pesto saffron couscous for the sides. Wifey added a side of brussel sprouts. I thought the leeks/mushrooms were good, but wifey wasn't too impressed. The couscous was a bit soggy. The brussel sprouts were mushy and kinda bland. We asked for the steak to be med-rare, but it came out mostly medium. The only part that was med-rare was the middle. It was moist and tender tho. The cesar salad came out as a wedge, which surprised both of us since the menu didn't mention it was one. We had a bit of a time cutting into the wedge since it was on a kinda narrow plate. Thinkin bout it, it was more like half slice of a romaine head than a wedge. The salad didn't have much flavor to it. I found out that those brown crispy things on the lettuce was extra fried anchovies. I thought they were crispy won tons and popped one in my mouth. It was crispy for sure, but my face musta said somethin to wifey. She asked what's wrong and I told her with a sour face that it was fried anchovies. I'm not a big fan of anchovies by themselves. Wifey found somethin in the blue cheese butter and gave it to Sophie to show her manager. The manager later came out sayin it was the plastic wrap around the butter. She then told us she'd comp the dessert if we got any or she'd comp the drinks. Wifey and I looked at each other with wide eyes on that last part cause we got a bottle of wine. We asked Sophie if that was right and she said yes after double checking with the manager. Wifey and I looked over the dessert menu, but nothin caught our eye. We decided to go Avelutos for tiramisu afterwards. Unfortunately they were closed by the time we got out of Silo's. We asked to box up the leftovers and to re-cork the wine. We got home and I found out Silo's kept the bone that still had meat on it. Wifey and I were both surprised since it was a farm to table restaurant. The ones we've been to before gave everything that was on the plate if you took home anything. Sophie did take our pics with the last sunset of 2025. We appreciate her checkin up on us throughout the meal. Ultimately we decided that we liked the scenery and Sophie, but the food was jus ok. As you can read, our experience with the food wasn't all that great. Not sure if we ordered the wrong stuff, but I was pretty disappointed when wifey wasn't happy with the food. I thought I finally found the perfect place for our "last sunset of the year". We'd probably come back for the wine, last sunset pic, and Sophie, but food wise we weren't too impressed. A Hui Hou... maybe

Silo is on my short list of repeatable restaurants. It's on a golf course so if you are lucky enough to sit by a window, you will have wonderful views! The restaurant is consistently busy so please make reservations! This special mahi was really good, something unique with a lot of flavor profiles. The smoked cheese curds, which I did not take a picture of, are excellent and the cheese popovers that they bring in the bread basket are one of a kind. We always have great service and tonight was no exception. Thanks Silo for always been consistent with high-quality food and a amazing service experience.

Service was wonderful and we ate out at the patio as it was a beautiful evening. My daughter and I shared the whipped goat cheese appetizer, she had the prime rib sandwich, I had the gnocchi, and we shared the 14 or 16 layer chocolate cake. All was excellent!

This place never disappoints. The beef tenderloin was so tender It was like cutting butter. I love the leeks and mushrooms. We had some octopus ceviche, which was the worst ceviche I've ever had in my life, but that is really the only bad thing that I've ever had here great atmosphere with great views.

Get! the! goat! cheese! It was so fresh and smooth and delicious!!! It was definitely my favorite part of the meal. This place has a great moody ambiance to it. The short rib burger had good flavor and came with yummy crispy fries! Definitely want to visit again to try their happy hour & some other items (maybe during the day as well so I can see the view).

Went for brunch to celebrate a birthday! We got to sit on the patio and it's a great view and full sun spot! We got the chicken and waffle, the omelette, the BLT and mimosas! We did pineapple and orange juice with the mimosas and highly recommend that! The B.E.L.T had the best bread and perfectly cooked egg! Would for sure recommend going to brunch at silo!

Ask the Community - Silo Modern Farmhouse

How cold is the patio this time of the year? I know it's heated but don't know if I will be able to last a whole meal Out there.

The patio is mostly facing the western sun, but it's still pretty chilly. People were having drinks on the patio this week, but I didn't see anyone with full meals - yet.

    Is there outside seating?

Silo has an amazing heated outdoor patio that is enclosed, but still ventilated. It is socially distanced and a great way to dine safely! It is warm and toasty even when it's cold outside.

It's a lovely restaurant. It seems a bit out of the way with mostly corporate buildings around. The restaurant has a nice modern aesthetic. I like the purple hyacinths hanging from the ceiling in one area. It was very steady for an off time in the afternoon. First, our server Olivia was amazing! Very attentive and we were extra needy this day so I really appreciate her patience. We even dropped food on the floor. Oops! She was so nice about it and cleaned it up immediately. We had customizations and extra requests. No problem for her! She went above and beyond. I hope she sees this because she was such a joy! The food was also very good. We started with the biscuits and one peach compote and one blueberry. Both were yummy. They were traditional drop biscuits and I love a good biscuit! We also had an order of fried green tomatoes on goat cheese grits. You get 4 very large slices. I could only eat one. The grits were yummy but there were not enough of them in relation to the friend green tomatoes. They were also encased by a sauce. I'm guessing a remoulade. I don't really care for remoulade sauce so I'd have removed it had I known it came with the dish. It really overpowered the goat cheese taste in the grits. The tomatoes were very al dente and I would have preferred them cooked a bit more. The dish was still good but my least favorite and I would normally love anything with those ingredients and fried green tomatoes are a favorite so the remoulade (or whatever it was) sauce was a real problem for me. I would definitely get them again without the sauce because they are great otherwise. But that sauce just overpowers every other flavor! I got the chicken tender dinner and others in my party got the bone in fried chicken. Everyone liked their chicken. The tenders were a big size. 4 of them but I hit 2 meals out of them. Everyone liked the Parmesan rosemary potatoes. I really liked the bacon green beans. The only side we weren't impressed with was the Mac and cheese unfortunately. The cheese was not good. We got coffees and a chai. All of them were very good. A bit pricey for the amount you get though. Even with the smaller complaints, I'd still give th a 5 because of the outstanding service and the dishes were overall very good and large portions. We will definitely return and I hope to try out a breakfast item next visit!

Drinks took some time to arrive. appetizers: We started with the Deviled Bacon and Eggs ($9 as of 08/2025) and the Heirloom Tomato Bruschetta ($15 as of 08/2025). For the deviled eggs, the menu description includes candied bacon, which you can see in the photo were thumbnail-sized. More on Grand Street bacon to follow. For the tomatoes, one slice was the heel of a tomato and another was only half a slice? entrees: Switching to mains, I had the Seared Scallops and Shrimp, which is two medium-sized scallops and three shrimp over beans, rice, and corn ($33 as of 08/2025). Did not feel this was good value for the money. My wife ordered a burger, but initially received what appeared to be maybe the Grand Street Stack. Her Grand Street Stack arrived a few minutes after everyone else already had their entrees. Once we figured out she did not receive a burger, she had another long-ish wait while the kitchen made her a burger. Management politely removed the burger from our check. Perhaps of note, the menu describes the bacon as Double Thick Bacon; however, it appeared as regular bacon to us. details: Although the address is Renner Boulevard, the entrance does not face Renner. The entrance is around back. Plenty of easy parking in adjacent garage. Interior is sleek and modern. Music appropriate level for conversation.

By far and away my favorite southwest JoCo sports bar/food & drink spot. Sure, it's a bar & grille,…read morebut their kitchen churns out some really good food and specials are always creative and featured. You'll find it right across the street from 3&2 Baseball's west complex. If there is youth baseball in the nicer months, then you can bet that some of those sluggers will matriculate across the street in search of lunch or dinner with families in tow. And with good reason, because Callahan's offers something for just about every palate. I would suggest sampling their BBQ, of which the menu is not vast but what they do, they do really well. The K-7 Combo is one of my favorites, a brisket & sliced sausage sandwich with a house BBQ sauce (or even the K-10, which subs in pulled pork for the sausage). Really good entrée and pairs just right with some of their sides, like a house potato salad or smoked beans. The wing game is pretty strong here, featuring a sweet & spicy glaze called the Honey Badger. It's not too sweet and not too spicy and sits nicely atop their twice-done wings. A basket of wings (8) runs $13.50 and that's a fairly good meal without a side. The kids' menu has plenty of the usual suspects, but Callahan's also does thin crust pizza from scratch and knocks those out of the park. I'd suggest the Big 8, which is their version of a 'supreme', and that's enough for at least two people, or maybe one teenager. Local knowledge: if you just want a side, then I'd suggest their sweet potato fries. Cut in-house and super crispy, and a basket alone is a phenomenal choice. Service is always friendly and quick and check the specials on the board as you come in. There are TVs in almost every direction, because sportsball, and there is not a bad seat in the place. The patio faces west and is open in nicer weather, and the bar has plenty of seating if you just want a solo spot. Prices are totally on par with the area, and the food delivers a value that matches or outpaces the price. Easy access, friendly service, and great food!
