Great breakfast items & coffee!! Love the ambiance, such a gem. This has become my husband and I's go to neighborhood coffee place

Lots of goodies all morning long!

Top-notch coffee shop in western Shawnee with a homey feel and darn good coffee. If you want a spot with a comfy seat, WiFi, & great drinks, then this might be your jam. The menu is big enough (think lattes & cappuccinos) but is still focused. Pricing is on par with the area and the value outpaces the pricing anyway. There are probably a dozen flavor options for your beverage and you can marry that up with a bagel or sammich. Gallagher's offers something called a 'rollover' and they're pretty proud of it, so that's on my future menu. There is a place dedicated for littles to play as well as a small fireplace area that is comfy during colder weather. The space is divided enough to make several distinct areas with cozy seating options. Even the sidewalk/front has some tables & chairs for nice weather enjoyment. Friendly service and quick baristas add to a great experience. Sure, you can go for a drive-thru or try Seattle's next corporate offering, or you can support local and make a neighborhood spot like Gallagher's your thing.

This is the cutest coffee shop. Great for 1:1 meetings, catching up with a friend, or WFH vibes. The staff is friendly and helpful when choosing items. The cinnamon roll was incredibly delicious as well as the egg and cheese sandwich I had. Latte was tasty and sweet (banana cream pie flavor). The quiche was really good and Americano had good taste. Something that is extra thoughtful is they had a few diapers and baby wipes in case you run out/ have an emergency with your little one. Will be coming back!

We tried out Gallagher's for the first time and were so pleased! We really liked the atmosphere and homey vibe. We liked the way they have all the seating arranged in cozy groupings whether there are larger groups or small. They had food choices and bakery choices that included gluten friendly which I appreciate. I also liked the special touch of diapers and wipes of various sizes in the bathroom, feminine hygiene and even a small container of flossers. They really have put a personal touch in their cafe. They also had a selection of games to use. My husband had iced tea with blackberry added that was good and I had the 16 ounce iced latte with oat milk and sugar free caramel. I also like that they have a simple card punch rewards system because too many coffee shops want you to download an app to keep count of points. We will definitely return and bring friends and family.

Really good spot if you work remotely. Loved the comfy chairs avaliable. Americano was good and the quiche of the day with the red peppers was a good touch. Had a couple bites of the cinnamon roll and it was delicious. Staff was helpful and friendly, food was quickly brought out.

The menu is large but easy to navigate, and the prices felt pretty average for the area. I ordered the avocado toast ($12.99), and it was bigger than expected--in a good way. The bread was perfectly toasted and piled high with avocado, thick slices of mozzarella, tomatoes, and a nice drizzle of balsamic. It also came with two eggs and a choice of side; I went with the fresh fruit, which was a great complement. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The only drawback was the limited staff. Our waiter was fantastic, but he was clearly stretched thin--handling seating, bar duties, takeout orders, and multiple tables all at once. It was a bit much for one person and did lead to longer wait times across the board. Hopefully, this was just a one-off situation, because the food and service quality were definitely there. I'd absolutely come back again.

It's a lovely restaurant. It seems a bit out of the way with mostly corporate buildings around. The restaurant has a nice modern aesthetic. I like the purple hyacinths hanging from the ceiling in one area. It was very steady for an off time in the afternoon. First, our server Olivia was amazing! Very attentive and we were extra needy this day so I really appreciate her patience. We even dropped food on the floor. Oops! She was so nice about it and cleaned it up immediately. We had customizations and extra requests. No problem for her! She went above and beyond. I hope she sees this because she was such a joy! The food was also very good. We started with the biscuits and one peach compote and one blueberry. Both were yummy. They were traditional drop biscuits and I love a good biscuit! We also had an order of fried green tomatoes on goat cheese grits. You get 4 very large slices. I could only eat one. The grits were yummy but there were not enough of them in relation to the friend green tomatoes. They were also encased by a sauce. I'm guessing a remoulade. I don't really care for remoulade sauce so I'd have removed it had I known it came with the dish. It really overpowered the goat cheese taste in the grits. The tomatoes were very al dente and I would have preferred them cooked a bit more. The dish was still good but my least favorite and I would normally love anything with those ingredients and fried green tomatoes are a favorite so the remoulade (or whatever it was) sauce was a real problem for me. I would definitely get them again without the sauce because they are great otherwise. But that sauce just overpowers every other flavor! I got the chicken tender dinner and others in my party got the bone in fried chicken. Everyone liked their chicken. The tenders were a big size. 4 of them but I hit 2 meals out of them. Everyone liked the Parmesan rosemary potatoes. I really liked the bacon green beans. The only side we weren't impressed with was the Mac and cheese unfortunately. The cheese was not good. We got coffees and a chai. All of them were very good. A bit pricey for the amount you get though. Even with the smaller complaints, I'd still give th a 5 because of the outstanding service and the dishes were overall very good and large portions. We will definitely return and I hope to try out a breakfast item next visit!

A Hidden Gem Worth Finding…read more The day after the World Cup Final, we needed to find a place for lunch near our Airbnb. Sometimes those unplanned stops turn into the best discoveries, and that's exactly what happened at The Glass Cat. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Berkley, our server. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home. She knew the menu well and wasn't shy about making recommendations, which always earns extra points in my book. She told us The Glass Cat is known for their biscuits. I laughed and admitted, "I'm really not a biscuit guy." She smiled and insisted I at least try a half order. Well... she was right that they were good, but I've officially confirmed I'm still just not a biscuit guy. Nothing against theirs--I think I'm simply impossible to impress when it comes to biscuits! Since I'm familiar with this part of the country, I couldn't pass up the Tenderloin Sandwich. It wasn't exactly like the classic pork tenderloin sandwiches I've had elsewhere, but it was absolutely delicious. The pork was tender, the toppings were fresh, and the fries were cooked exactly the way I like them--golden brown with a nice crisp on the outside. At Berkley's recommendation, my wife ordered the Egg, Cheese & Bacon Biscuit with hash browns. She wasn't kidding about the bacon--it was thick, smoky, and full of flavor. I stole a bite (as good husbands do), and it was a really tasty breakfast sandwich. The hash browns were another highlight--crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked. While we ate, we soaked in the local atmosphere. It was fun listening to everyone engage in a conversation. My wife and I discussed making our plans for the day and return trip for tomorrow. We made a quick stop at the nearby Price Chopper to grab a few things for the Airbnb. The Glass Cat Cafe may be a little off the beaten path, but that's often where you find the best local restaurants. Good food, generous portions, outstanding service, and a relaxed hometown vibe made this a memorable stop. I'd absolutely come back the next time I'm in the area. Chef T's Scorecard: * Food: 9/10 * ‍ Service: 10/10 (Thanks, Berkley!) * Value: 9/10 * Atmosphere: 8.5/10 Overall: Sometimes the best meals aren't found where everyone else is eating--they're found where the locals are. We hit the club for brunch with a group, and while the ambiance was pure "Country Club Chic," the execution was a bit more "Sunday Morning Sand Trap." The Liquid Courage I started off my round with two drinks. the Bloody Mary. It was fine--tasty enough, but it certainly didn't change my life or inspire any poetry. However, things got interesting with their Tequila/Cold Brew/Liquor 43 concoction. Topped with an egg foam cap, it was actually pretty solid. A bit of a gamble, but sometimes you have to roll the dice when the menu is trying that hard. The Culinary "Hit and Miss" Then came the food, or as I like to call it: The Great Consistency Crisis. The Steak: I asked for medium-rare; I received medium-well with a "char" that felt more like a personal vendetta against the cow. The Potatoes: Apparently, potato portions are determined by a lottery system. I received about half the amount of the person next to me. Maybe I didn't look hungry enough? The Eggs: My over-easy eggs had crispy, hard edges and arrived at a temperature I'd describe as "lukewarm at best." We also had to hunt down salt and pepper like we were on a scavenger hunt. Honestly, I probably should have just hit the buffet and cut out the middleman. The Service Our server was perfectly nice, but he appeared to be roughly twelve years old. Since he wasn't legally old enough to understand the complexity of a craft cocktail, he couldn't give us any info on the drink menu. We just had to "go with our gut"--which is a dangerous game when tequila and cold brew are involved. The Verdict I'm not saying I won't be back, but consider this a fair warning: if Round 2 involves another charred steak and a side of "room temperature" eggs, I'll be sending it back for a rerun faster than a shanked drive into the woods. 3/5 Stars -- Great for people-watching, questionable for potato-equity.

Unfortunately, the service side fell flat. We arrived mid-afternoon around 1:30-2:00, and the restaurant wasn't busy. We asked if we could sit upstairs, and the host seemed confused before telling us it was closed, then seated us directly next to a loud group despite plenty of quieter open tables nearby. A few minutes later, we looked upstairs ourselves and saw multiple occupied tables being actively served...what the heck? The most frustrating part of this experience wasn't the seating, it was the complete indifference from the staff. Drinks didn't arrive until after we had already finished eating, and despite the restaurant being relatively slow, nobody seemed remotely concerned. No urgency or communication. Just a normal day for them, I guess. A kitchen can only carry a restaurant so far when the front-of-house operates with this little care for hospitality. The atmosphere gives the impression of a place that wants to feel polished and upscale, but the service felt lazy and disconnected from the guest experience. Mistakes happen in restaurants. What matters is whether the staff notices and cares enough to fix them. We left wondering how a restaurant with food this solid has become comfortable delivering service this poor.
