Looking towards the coffee bar ordering area

I tried this coffee house out the other day and it was a quiet reprieve to enjoy a latte. I had an almond milk vanilla iced latte that was pretty good. They have various tables and chairs, a leather couch and two leather chairs and also outdoor seating. They also have an enclosed playroom for children 5 and under which is very nice! The service was good and the young woman brought out our beverages to us where we were sitting. They had a quiet playlist playing in the background and it was a relaxing atmosphere.

The Foundry Coffeehouse is located inside a church. I stop in for something hot to drink while out looking at Christmas lights at So Kar Park Trail. Service was great. They have plenty of parking. There's a climbing wall inside. The night i was there, they had a fire pit outside for people to sit, have coffee and look at Christmas light.

So if you are plugging this one into your GPS, just know that Foundry is *inside* of its parent church building. The coffee bar is open separate hours other than just on Sundays, but on Sundays, you could attend a church service and get your coffee. Win/win! I love the space, with its high ceilings, comfortable seating, and robust Wi-Fi, making it a wonderful place to work or just get together. And oh yeah, the coffee. Foundry makes a great regular roast and works hard to make outstanding artisanal coffee drinks. Even a hot cup of cocoa is done just right and pairs spectacularly with many of their pastry offerings. Another perk is Foundry's proximity to the pond and walking paths at Sar-Ko Park. I have been known to get my coffee and then walk across the parking lot to one of the benches in front of the pond, just a serene experience watching the ducks on pleasant mornings. I highly recommend a piece of their cinnamon coffee cake to accompany your coffee. Pro tip: get it warmed up. Prices are standard for similar fare elsewhere but the value is in the friendly service and welcoming space. There is a really solid kids' play area (with an age limit) giving families with littles a great option. Enjoy the park scene or just unwind in their space or on their patio and enjoy Foundry!

Indoor playground. Awesome for kids.

A hidden coffee place to be! First time here. Thought they were closed because the phone number listed is disconnected. They've updated their phone number to 913-888-2722. They've been here for over 15 years. It is connected to (in the same building as) the Cedar Ridge Christian Church. Their coffee is pretty good! I had the Caramel macchiato. They just don't have milk substitute besides soy. I prefer coconut milk. I can stay here and relax while my toddler play in the indoor play area. She loves all the slides. There's a beautiful view of a pond. They have plenty of space to lounge and seating outside as well. It would be an awesome place for students to study since the space is so big; twice to three times as big as Starbucks. When you get a little sleepy you can go outside and take a walk around the pond.

Menu - Inside Foundry Coffee House, a menu board displays drink options, with coffee supplies and decor on the counter and shelves.

Only had their blueberry muffin which was good. Will return for coffee. Nice kids play area inside. Went on a Saturday morning and there was a string music group playing inside which was nice.

Cool space, absolutely mediocre coffee for a ridiculously high price considering the quality.

Long day running errands with my 13 month old, I got a great cup of coffee and he got to get his wiggles out in the 5 and under play room.

One section is totally secluded for studying or working while the other is in a working bakery where you can see bread being made! I enjoyed the matcha, it was a little sweet which was a nice flavor. It made the ordering process super quick

You are definitely paying premium for your drink but especially the baked goods as their bread is all made in house by Ibis Bakery. Now more than one barista helped me review the massive menu. Payton ended up taking my order: CBS with MIXED GREENS, MATCHA TEA and a MUDSLIDE made with SOY MILK! The space is very large with multiple seating areas, quiet corners, plenty of open dining and enclosed room dining as well. It has a walkthrough to the bakery side along with mini store selling cups, Messner Farms merchandise and more. Now I really enjoyed my CBS: marinated chicken, bacon, red onion, cheddar cheese, tomato and chipotle mayo on brioche potato roll.. sounds pretty good huh! It was devine! Those combined ingredients made for one of the best chicken sandwiches hot or cold (because I could finish it in one sitting) I've had! Now I picked at the chicken solo and it didn't have too much flavor but as a sandwich everything comes together well! I wasn't too impressed with the Mudslide.. it was dreary, no hit of chocolate or creme so I'm not sure what it was supposed to be. My mom said the match with honey syrup was decent. Everything for the price definitely ensured my only trip.

This local spot is located in the little historic Lenexa downtown, which is itself somewhat hidden away now that the Lenexa Public Market is open and draws folks that way. Coming to this stretch of suburbia feels charming and quaint, and I love that there is a really fantastic local coffee shop nestled into this shopping center. Now onto what makes this place so special. There are tons of great cafes in Kansas City, but what sets Maps apart from the pack is that they roast their own beans in house and they are all super fresh. You can taste the difference in the brew and it's a nice change of pace to have something a bit different since many of the local spots in town use the same local roasters. Once you find out about Maps you'll start to notice other cafes and restaurants that use their beans. It's not as many as say, Messenger, but Maps holds their own in this arena. They also make their own chocolate! And when I say make, I mean make. They actually make the chocolate bars and not just the candies. Even more impressive, it's damn good chocolate. Honestly, if you haven't been to this spot and have a love for coffee and/or chocolate it's well worth a visit. The cherry on top for me is how unpretentious the entire place is. You'll feel welcome, and the staff working will be happy to chat your ears off about their products. 5/5 for me!

The iced latte I got was delicious, and I was so glad that they had decaf espresso as an option since I can't typically have caffeine. (Note: I am unsure of their specific cross contamination risks, so be sure to ask staff for more details if needed).
