In a pinch I needed some things that you can't find a gas station and Mckeevers was just across the street from my hotel. I zipped over there and walked in not realizing it was a normal grocery store! I was relieved to see that they had everything I needed! It was laid out similarly to the same store in my town, and I was able to navigate myself easily. Self check out was a breeze, and I was in and out of the parking lot quick. It's located in a bustling plaza with fast food, gas, banks, and this grocer. Great location! read more

One of the BEST selection of gluten free items in a supermarket! Well done McKeevers in carrying such a great selection. Only challenge is they use to have it all in 1 area, now it's kind of spread out which makes it easy to miss some of these gems! McKeevers is always clean and quiet. The good: It's clean, the produce is good, they have a decent selection & the checkers are nice. The bad: It's overpriced by quite a bit, the deli counter is awful, they do not like to slice the meat, act like you are putting them out, and don't know what is on special, the "eatery" doesn't even compare to HyVee, and it's difficult to find anyone behind the counters (bakery, deli, meat) to help you. I went there to buy a birthday cake. I've had a hard time finding a good birthday cake from a grocery store since moving here. I finally found it! If you're from the SE, this is as close to Publix as you'll get out here. It might even be better but that is TBD... very similar though. I'm so happy I found it. read more

No hand baskets. I mostly go to hyvee now since they got rid of the hand-baskets at Mckeever's Market. There are plenty of hand basket's at Hyvee on Phlumn and 87th just down the street (See picture). Every time I walk into McKeever's I get angry that there are no hand baskets for shopping. I usually only need one or two things. But I can't get three or four things because I am not going to run around the store looking like an idiot cupping a full pile of items in both hands. And I do not need a cart! Those slow me down! I can navigate the isle's better and quicker with a hand basket. This is a horrible customer-service mistake by McKeevers. read more

I was really excited to shop on opening day, and McKeever's Market did not disappoint! Lenexa has been anxiously awaiting the arrival of our newest tenant and today was the day! Despite the large crowds, the store is so spacious and well designed it didn't seem busy at all. I didn't have much time to explore unfortunately, but to me the highlights here were the bakery, the popcorn corner (you read that correctly) the fresh sushi, the coffee shop, and all the freshly made foods. Everything I saw looked delicious and it was all displayed beautifully. Beyond the specialty areas in the store, there are millions and millions of grocery and non-food items on the shelves. I have literally never seen so many Gluten Free and Vegetarian options at a grocery store, and thanks to our newly designed Kansas Liquor laws there are a gazillion beer options as well. McKeever's Market absolutely blew me away, and this new gem exceeded my expectations. It's 100% worth the time to swing by and see what they have to offer. read more

I try to avoid McKeever's simply because the bakery there is so good! Every morning there are fresh scones, donuts and other delicious pastries. They often have items marked down or on sale at incredible prices. This is not the average grocery store bakery! read more

I have been so excited for this place to open and was not disappointed. It is very big and open so even opening day didn't feel crowded. I won't go into a long review because grocery stores are like churches in my opinion. We are all looking for different things so I will stick with facts. The floral department has an extensive variety of flowers, many I have never seen in a floral shop or grocery store in KC. They have a popcorn station with flavors ranging from caramel to banana. The bakery has your typical cupcakes and cookies but then also high end designer cakes and macarons. They have a huge cheese selection although not very many local cheeses. Their seafood selection is pretty large and looks to be very fresh. They have a pizza station, panini station and other hot foods. They also have a large grab and go section with a good portion dedicated to healthier options. Best feature is a free pineapple corer. It is fast and amazing, cuts them in spears rather than rings. They also have a decent olive bar. Their craft beer selection rivals any small liquor store. All in all this is a great one stop shop in my opinion. Yes it is pricey unless you stick with sale items but most stores are now. We will definitely be using them for quick meals on the run and the pineapple corer. I will stick with my weekly trip to Sprouts for produce and bulk bins but I envision McKeevers being on my weekly route as well. read more

We were in the mood for strawberry shortcake. So we drove ALL THE WAY to Mckeevers to buy strawberries to make strawberry shortcake. All day long we looked forward to eating strawberry shortcake. After the chiefs beat the bengals by a Harrison butler game winning field goal, we went for a walk that included two very large hills and all we talked about was coming home and eating strawberry shortcake. When we got home to make our strawberry shortcake, we discovered that the strawberries that we bought from Mckeevers were moldy. Now we can't have strawberry shortcake. So disappointed. read more

It's nice, but it's not any fancier Or different than the new HyVees or Price Choppers. The produce section and specialty areas like the bakery, deli, and coffee bar are the best parts. Once you get back into the regular groceries it becomes kind of standard grocery store wise. I didn't notice a "health food" section like you see in Hy-Vee. This is a bummer, but Sprouts is nearby so it's easy to make a second stop to fill in the gaps in my list. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Obviously it's brand new, so everything is still sparkling. Their prices are very comparable to other stores. Our favorite part was the pineapple slicing machine. I'd definitely pop back in for that. $2 for a fresh, perfectly sliced pineapple in like 20 seconds. The only thing that kills me is it gets loaded into a little plastic deli style container. :( Hopefully they'll let customers reuse their containers from previous purchases. Any reduction in single use plastic is a plus. read more

I've been here twice now. The first time was their grand opening and today because I had to pick up pork chops to make for dinner. I didn't fare so well as when I was in and out of Sprout's in ten minutes. I stopped to take some pics of this place and recorded myself shopping. I had expected this place to be more high brow considering where it's located but it's bourgeoisie indeed. Their display of desserts definitely caught my eye, but this place left me wanting for more when there's no butchers at the meat counter. They do have lots to choose from as far as take out meals go though. I've only caught a glimpse of their offering but had to book it out of there because making dinner was on my agenda. I feel like this place needs two separate reviews. One for the grocery store side and one for the cafe, market, bakery, eatery, coffee and decor shop side. It's almost two different worlds. Their grocery store just feels like a price chopper, with your typical higher than average prices. But the other half gives you everything you want in a grocery store - a fabulous coffee bar/cafe where they serve all the fun coffee you can imagine, teas, horchata, freshly squeezed lemonade, pastries from Park Street Pastry (downtown Olathe) and other local shops, and more. Then they have their cafe/deli that goes above and beyond in the quick lunch options (including pizzas, hot sandwiches, etc) They also have a tapas/olive bar, a sushi counter, gourmet cheeses, a crazy popcorn corner, a beautiful Whole Foods like bakery - SHEESH! I don't know if I'll make it a regular stop for grocery shopping, but it's beautiful, it's new and it's a great place to come see. read more

McKeever's is my local market! I love this little spot! It's not like the big box stores around town, but what it does have holds high value for the kitchen. They also have a fresh sushi station that I pop over for a quick lunch during the week. Fun Fact: They are open until midnight every day of the week! OK, if you order a grilled sandwich at a grocery deli, I guess you are talking some chances. I did and the results were astoundingly bad. Off the charts horrible. The first pic is half of a...Philly cheese steak! Would you have guessed that? The second is even more shocking: a reuben. Both are on hot dog buns. Yes, a self proclaimed "grilled" sandwich is open faced on a hot dog bun with the meat broiled to black char. Oh and they were $8 each! I don't know if my pics will post, but I tried. read more

McKeever's is a newer grocery store in the area. The inside is pretty and I like how the store is laid out. The prices seem higher overall. My biggest complaint are the employees. They are the least friendly people out of any grocery store in this area. They never say hello or "thanks for coming in or have a good day." nothing. I get stared at blankly every time I leave the store. It's awkward. I'm one of those people that always thanks the self check out attendant at target and I'm use to being acknowledged when I load up my cart and leave. I really like this new place. It's so easy for me to run over and grab anything I need. The staff have all been very friendly and easy to talk to. I never have a problem locating what I need, there's always someone around for me to ask where items are. I love the deli, bakery and the homemade popcorn is fantastic! I have yet to try the coffee bar and food but it's on my to-do list! I'm so glad they moved into the neighborhood. I still visit my other local businesses but this is definitely my new favorite. read more

I was excited for this market to open and when it did, it was very beautiful! The workers were friendly and great. I really liked the layout and mainly the side of the market that has the salad bar, coffee shop, fresh/hot foods, and bakery side of the market. The groceries here were expensive, more so than other markets. However, everytime I get their bone-in wings, it is always raw. That disappointed me a great deal. Other than that I may come back here because they have beautiful cakes and healthy grocery options here. Not for the bone-in wings though, just be aware of that if you do! read more

McKeever's is my local market and has been for already over 6 months. Their prices are nearly unbeatable when it comes to meats and they have a good variety of everything! Only complaint I would say is that the employees are not the most social people. read more

The entire store is a pleasant shopping experience and their products are always fresh and reasonably priced. The items that keep me coming back are their bakery goods and sushi. It's fresh, tasty and served by employees who seem to enjoy where they work. That means a lot. I can't say enough about Claudia, the bakery manager. The place making our daughter's wedding cake fell through and it only being a month before the wedding, I was having a difficult time finding someone to make it. Claudia was AMAZING to work with. The name on the store is "McKeever's Market and Eatery," so on a Saturday morning I stopped in to get some breakfast in the "Eatery." But I didn't see any breakfast items at all in the "Eatery," so I had to wander over to the bakery area and grab a couple of donuts. A sign in the "Eatery" instructed to ask for a paper cup in order to obtain coffee, so I did that. But the goggles-wearing guy behind the counter replied, "Sorry, our machine is out of coffee." "You're out of coffee? How can you be out of coffee? It's breakfast time, and the sign says you offer coffee." "I've ordered it, but it hasn't come in yet." "It 'hasn't come in yet?'" "No." "Well, this is a grocery store - why can't you go over to the coffee aisle and grab a can of coffee?" "Our self-serve machine only uses industrial coffee." "You can't make a pot of coffee in the regular way?" "Sir, I don't know if you know what's going on in the country right now..." "Listen, Elton, as a matter of fact I do know what's going on in the country right now. It's perfectly normal out there." It was the first time I had visited that store. It has a trendy interior design, so I think it's supposed to compete with Hen House or Whole Foods or something, but I saw nothing that makes it an obviously more attractive place to shop for groceries than Wal-Mart. Neither do I see long-term success for this store. There weren't many people shopping there - even on a Saturday morning. Prices are high, selection is limited. And they don't have morning coffee in the "Eatery." But the decor is fabulous. read more

They have the best homemade Birthday Cakes! I definitely recommend for special occasions.

The bakery at McKeever's market is the best around. Their prices are really reasonable and they have a huge variety. We took the Boston cream pie cake to a bbq this summer and it was a huge hit. My husband and I have also bought the smaller version of the cookies and cream cake, ate the whole thing in two days with no regrets. read more

When you have a sick wife at home and your family is counting on a good family Thanksgiving dinner DO NOT count on McKeever's Market in Lenexa! This what they consider a freshly cooked Thanksgiving meal for $200! When I called the manager to complain, I didn't get an apology or a discount. Updated review. I changed this to a 4 star for one main reason. They have a better selection of fish and some meat cuts than hen house, hyvee, price choppers, and sprouts. Was looking for a rack of bone in beef ribs and this place was the only spot that had them. They so have a beyer selection in the seafood selection such ad chilean seabass, red snapper, or even whole octopus. I would be keen on prices though. Pretty much everywhere has usda choice filet mignon for about $15/lb. It was $22/lb here. The prime filet mignon looked right at about $24-25/lb. Pretty much better off getting prime at that point vs choice here. It's also nice they carry prime cuts of meat as well rather than just choice or select. read more

I stop in to grab lunch at this store three days a week or so. It's quick and convenient. They have a great salad bar and a nice selection of soups. I'm always very happy with the food and the prices are fine. The problem is customer service. Not friendly. Not helpful. Not pleasant. I usually pack my food to go and check out at the front rather than the food service area, primarily because I just don't feel like getting annoyed. Sometimes the main check out lines are no better. Sometimes I just go to Hen House down the street even though the lunch offerings can't compete. This store is surrounded by fast food restaurants that all seem to have found mostly friendly, efficient employees. McKeevers has not figured out how to attract even moderately helpful and happy people. read more

Wow. Just wow. This place has been open a few days. I decided to check it out. When I walked in, I tried the coffee shop. The drip coffee is really good, really strong. I like it! They paired up with a local chocolatier and the chocolate samples were divine. I was then greeted with a bottle of water, given free salad dressing, and endless samples of meat and cheese and veggies. Lunch..check. There is sushi and fresh prepared foods and wait for it...a popcorn station. I'm serious. Well done, McKeevers. I am glad I live near you. read more
