Why is this store such a dud? Okay, we were spoiled before moving to western Lenexa. From our old home, Hen House, Sprouts, McKeever's, Aldi, and HyVee were all less than 2 miles away. Now, we're stuck with this Price Chopper that has no atmosphere, no character and even the employees don't seem to want to be there. On our most recent visit, we spent at least 20 minutes in the store and not one employee spoke a single word to us. Don't get me started on all of the holes on the shelves. Hopefully soon, another grocery store will open in the area and this PC will be forced to be better or be a goner. read more

I was blown away by this store. The first time I came in. I loved it, and still do. The bold, colorful wall murals are a great addition, the shelves are always well stocked, and the produce section and selection are top-notch. It's well-organized, pretty and enticing, everything looks fresh, and there are always some good bargains in produce. I like that the fronts of the packages in the frozen section are upright and face-forward, as it makes it much easier to find what you want, and draws you in to explore. Wide aisles and very visible signage above every aisle sets these redesigned Price Chopper stores apart from all others. read more

I rarely stop in at a Price Chopper, but I was delighted by the cleanliness, selection, and ease of navigating through the store. ...until I saw the prices. I know the dollar doesn't go as far, but I think I crossed over the line into nope. Picked up the things I really needed, and left thinking I may have spent $40 for about $25 of stuff. NOT COVID-19 cautious. Went to a different store today to see if any TP could be found (wasn't-but no one does right now). PC is sort of close. Just a word of caution, there are no sprays or wipes for your cart (most other stores have staff actually doing this for you when you come to pick up a cart), no plexiglass between you and your cashier, cashiers stationed open right next to E/O (so no way for me to be more than 2 ft from anyone while checking out, never mind 6-ft), and still no way for self service in purchasing. I was also the only customer with gloves...that's not on them, but curious about customer base. PC, let us know when you take all of this seriously. read more

I stopped in the deli today to grab something quick. They had grilled salmon! I asked the deli clerk--okay, tell me about the salmon. It can't be all that. He said, it's delicious. It flies off the "shelf" and we sell out each time we have it...a guy in the seafood department will come over and grill or smoke the salmon. He's the best in KC. $7 and some change and I had a huge piece of beautiful grilled salmon with a lemon wedge. AND IT WAS AMAZING!! Just as good as the salmon I've had at fancy restaurants. McKeever's Price Chopper (Lenexa) has onions stacked on a floor-standing cardboard display case with bright colorful VIDALIA SWEET ONION advertising on it. Unfortunately, the onions in the display were NOT Vidalias. I mentioned to the product manager, and he told me they were sweet onions, and he was just using the Vidalia box. Vidalia is not a generic name for sweet onion, it's a trademarked name and only available for onions from certain counties in Georgia. Vidalia onions are always from GA and always labeled with Vidalia onion stickers. The onions in the "Vidalia's bin" were from Nevada and Washington! I thought it reflected a general lack of integrity and a willingness to infringe on someone else's trademark, not to mention mislead some of their customers. read more

This Price Chopper is disgusting! I refuse to do large grocery hauls here but being the closest grocery store to my house I sometimes run in for one or two items. Everything about this store is dirty - the floor, the bathrooms, the checkout belts, the carts, the shelves, the employees appearance - EVERYTHING! Even the trash cans out front are overflowing. The employees do nothing but socialize and stare at their phones. It's hard to imagine with the state of this store, there's a manager on duty and if there is, they need some serious coaching. Now for the reason I took the time to write this review - tonight I bought shredded cheese and it was moldy. The cheese was not expired so it leads me to believe it was mishandled by Price Chopper causing the mold growth. Wouldn't surprise me at all based off the overall quality of this grocery store. read more

This is quite possibly the worst Price Chopper! Sadly its the grocery store closest to my home! I am sick of walking in here and seeing seven employees standing around doing nothing while the place is a mess. It is not stocked, not cleaned, not helpful in one word, horrid! This PC is really great. It is close to home, very clean, and the food is fresh. It doesn't hurt that it's in an uppity area so even the parking spots are nice and wide. I used to go here several times a week, but I now have many options to shop from so I don't really go here as much. It's still very nice though. This sounds funny, but I come here once a month because of a group I'm in. We meet upstairs in a conference room. FYI, the rooms are free to rent so our group meets here to discuss what we love to discuss most - everything. This place also has a nice salad bar and a food counter where you can pick up dinner if you don't have the time to cook. Pretty much, this PC is one of the nicer ones, and I don't think you'll be disappointed if you come here. read more

Wow, what a great store! I am so glad I stopped this Price Chopper, what a great surprise, this Price Chopper has a very nice cafe and they have my favorite, SUSHI. It was just the pick me up lunch that I needed. The cafe area is extremely clean and comfortable. I also ended up picking up some adorable father's day cards and gift cards for the upcoming Father's Day. I am now a huge fan of Price Chopper and whenever in the area I will always look for the store. Also, this location has huge parking space and across the parking space is the cutest little coffee shop called Scooter's. I seriously love this location. The people are super nice and I just did not want to leave that is how happy I was with my new find. read more

I remember them building this grocery store years ago when I used to commute from Lawrence to Kansas City. Back then, it looked ridiculous, since it was five minutes west of the I-435 beltway, and literally sitting there all alone with Wendy's. I used to think, "do livestock and field mice need to buy groceries too?" Why else would anyone drive ten minutes outside the city, or stop their rushed commute to work or home to grab this week's grub? Now, it's surrounded by other businesses, a half dozen neighborhoods, and office parks, like mine, which is why I became a regular here. I picked up grocery-getting duties last year for the family, and it's easy enough to slide one exit down the highway from work to go here over lunch. At that time of day, it's usually pretty quiet, the store is well-stocked and the products well-faced, and it's easy to get in and out quickly. The store has a large, well-maintained produce area and a pretty fluid overall layout, similar to other PC's in the area. Their healthy/organic area is decent size and has most of the stuff that we're usually looking for of that type. The prepared foods area is of average size (for today's standards; five years ago, it was probably above average), and has average-to-below-average variety. The service is usually pretty straight faced and monotone, which is to say very run-of-the-mill for supermarket employees these days. All in all, I give it a "meets expectations" rating. read more

Really love having this price chopper near my office. Very convenient! Usually find it clean and in order. The staff is quite friendly most of the time. Prices are fair for groceries in Kansas... Need I say more? One tip for the deli... Stop being so stingy with breakfast portions. I frequent many price choppers for their early morning breakfast. This is the most stingy location in the entire KC metro! I promise... You will not make your millions on a half cup of scrambled eggs! One last tip - red potatoes for breakfast isn't the best idea - stick with old fashioned hash browns like the other locations. read more

I have had to go back and get money back from them over charging for things so make sure you paying attention to pricing and your reciept. Also they had a sale on canned veggies 3 cans for 1$ but the canned veggies with no salt where "on sale" for 3 cans for 2$. So they want double for the veggies that are better for you and they don't have to add salt yet it's twice the price. Pretty shady if ask me. read more

I have shopped many of my local supermarkets and big box stores. I consider myself a savvy shopper. But I will not forego quality for price. This Price Chopper at Woodland in Lenexa, KS has it all. Variety, fresh produce and great tasting, gristle-free meat. Yes, I'm that customer. The one who appreciates a steak which is marbled, grilled medium rare to perfection. Price Chopper meets or exceeds my expectations. When planning a special meal for holidays, this is where I go for my appetizers to my desserts. Staff employees are customer oriented. read more

An employee noticed my confusion and asked if he could help. As an out of towner, it is time consuming to find things in a new store in a different chain with different brands. I only had found about half of my dozen or two items so far. The employee personally took me to all the rest of the items on my list. When I turned to thank him, I noticed his name tag, Steve Protzman, Store Director. I told him I was very impressed with his help. I honestly don't know why I came here. It's along the way home from work, but I already have a grocery store I like a lot, that's closer to home. I guess I just wanted to try someplace new, for the hell of it. Everything here is just your standard grocery store fare. Prices seem the same as everywhere else, the meat is the same as everywhere else, the veggies/fruit are the same as everywhere else. The inside is clean, spacious and open, though it definitely has a bit of a warehouse feel to it. The staff are not rude by any means, but they just sort of put their hours in, get the job done without a huge amount of effort, and that's it. Unlike places like Hy-Vee or Hen House, nobody seems to be willing to help too much, and certainly nobody will ever come up to you and ask if they can help. So, I'll stick to my original grocery store closer to home. If this is your closest store - by all means, come here. If it isn't, you're not missing a whole heck of a lot. 2.5 stars, rounded to 3 for the heck of it. read more

Price Chopper has the best fuel discount program in my area, but I think they are a bit pricier than other grocery stores. If you check the adds and shop smart it works out to be the same. We have also special ordered some items and they are very friendly and accommodating in doing this. The produce is always fresh as is the meat, two things that I look for in a grocery store. read more

I spend thousands of $$$ at the nearby McKeever's Price Chopper in Falcon Ridge Lenexa Kansas. Not Frequently but most every time they do not have what a high-end PC should have in stock at both of their Lenexa locations! We therefore have to make additional trips to Hen House and or Hy-Vee to find commonly stocked items. Guess what they always have those commonly stocked items. Today I went to both Lenexa locations. Every single organic Sour Crean and Mexican Crema was expired beyond 10 days. There was a young man loading LOADS of expired dairy into a cart. I alerted him to the Sour Cream...not impressed. The Staff and Customer Service are Inept. I go to Customer service requesting a particular item and their response "I have no idea let me call someone in that Department" This is after I had already looked on my own. I suggest that she review on-line inventory? "No, we do not have access to that" Amazing since I had already looked at their on-line inventory to learn it was supposedly in stock. Humph. Yesterday, I went shopping and withdrew ATM cash. I went to Customer Service and asked for change for a $20.00 bill. I was told VERY FIRMLY that I must purchase in order to get change. I kindly explained that I would be spending $100.00+ dollars in groceries. She very FIRMLY told me that it was cooperate policy that I must purchase something at the Customer Service Counter in order to get change. The only items available for sale were tobacco products??? She relented with a very GRUFF response I will do it this time but not again!!! Today I shopped at both Lenexa locations to purchase items normally found there. not available. I did find the items at Hy-Vee. It may be further away but McKeever's Price Chopper is by far the WORST Grocery Store I have ever had the displeasure of working worth. McKeever's this should be no surprise we have been sharing our unhappiness with for years...Oh by the way How come you are unable to stock fresh Ginger for the last 2 weeks? If you wish a preview of the future Customer Service is headed for go to this Store in Falcon Valley. They could Care Less about you, product, store or themselves. This store is being run by tools dressed as punks. My mistake for shopping here 7 times. Every visit except # 3 has been disappointing at best. The fuel discount is a way to rip you off for higher food prices (really now 10-35 cents off per gallon) that come's to an average car of $5.25 off a tank. I would suggest getting rid of the High School crowd and find some motivated people who know what customer service is. The future is bleak and numb! read more

Have been here 10 or so times since moving to the area and am disappointed every time. As a 7 month pregnant mom, I've never once had a bagger at the check out line and end up having to bag things myself- which is difficult with a pregnancy bump. The last two times I went I left with sausage that's use by date was a week ago- did not realize I needed to check every expiration date when shopping. The health food aisles are very limited and lacking- some products are in multiple places on the aisles trying to "fill in" to look like they have more healthy options than they really do. I honestly hate price chopper! They always have teenagers running the store. I'm all for businesses that hire young staff to provide youth with work opportunities, but there should be a well balance between them and trained professionals. If you don't check expiration dates (which you always should), but say you trust your grocery store to put out fresh product then you will end up buying expired produce at price chopper. My family and I are always good about this, and if we hadn't checked on several occasions we would have bought expired produce. The store is always very dirty, and understaffed. Today I went in the middle of the day, because I was in a hurry and needed two items, it took them 20 minutes to get me through the line. The only reason I come here is because it's about 5 minutes from my house. I love the Hyvee on Ridgeview, I'm going to start driving the extra ten minutes just because they have better produce, better prices, and a great staff. Did I mention the fresh food at Hyvee is delicious? Chinese, deli, pizza, and it's always fresh and ready for consumption, as opposed to price choppers fried and greasy food that is a day old. I am so done with this Price Chopper. I've been shopping here for about 4 years now. The amount of food that I have bought from this store that has been bad/spoiled is absolutely outrageous. From milk, meat, cheese, supposably "fresh" produce, bottled sauces, etc. I made myself a bowl of cereal this morning with a brand new half gallon of skin milk that doesn't expire for another 10 days that turned out to be spoiled. I ate a few spoonfuls just to make sure it wasn't my taste buds being weird, it tasted pretty bad. So then I grabbed the jug and smelled it and it was most definitely foul smelling. I have bought meat from there on multiple occasions that the sell by date wasn't for another 5-7 days, but when I opened the package later that evening or the next evening and it was rancid and slimy. They also stopped putting the dates on the tags of the little bags of bean sprouts, and ever since they have done that, I have never been able to purchase a bag that wasn't already super slimy and going bad. And not to mention, it is almost impossible to find bananas that are fresh and haven't been beat to heck. When I first started shopping at this store, this was never an issue, but this past year, it has been really really bad. I don't leave food out for extended amounts of time and I store items properly as well. Also when I buy meat, I always check the dates, and it never sits in the fridge for more than 2 days before it is cooked. You should be able to trust that the store you are going to isn't going to try and sell you already expired food. With the amount of money that has been wasted on their way over priced food and products, I will now be shopping at the HyVee on 119th and Ridgeview, it's in an inconvenient location, but their prices and products are way better. read more
