I visited on a quiet Tuesday afternoon, and the store was organized, neat, and easy to navigate, which was a lovely start. ​I had two main items on my mission: grabbing the Back to Nature Peanut Butter Creme Crackers (a snack I became obsessed with after a trip to New York!) and picking up a specific protein powder for my mom, which was on a great Buy One, Get One 50% Off deal. ​However, the real highlight was the service, thanks to Dahlia, a head cashier employee who stopped to help us. Dahlia was incredibly kind and went above and beyond. She walked us through the free rewards program, explaining not only how to find coupons but also detailing a huge deal: if you buy $100 or more in health & beauty products (including that protein powder!) within a three-month span, you will be able to get 30% off your next purchase. She explained that the purchases history for this deal resets after the three months are up. ​She even took the time to offer personalized recommendations, sharing her own experience with thinning and oily hair and suggesting specific shampoo and conditioner products for me to try. After Dahlia helped me with the rewards sign-up, I checked out with a different cashier. This cashier was also super nice; she knew I was setting up the account and proactively made sure I either entered my phone number or had my rewards barcode scanned before I paid, guaranteeing I got my points for that trip. ​The service didn't end there! I had a $3 off coupon for the protein powder that wouldn't go through due to the store's poor cell service/Wi-Fi connection. Dahlia, without hesitation, simply gave me $3 back in cash to honor the coupon deal--that is truly above and beyond customer service. ​I highly recommend this location! The product selection is great, and the atmosphere is pleasant, but the staff--especially Dahlia--is what makes this store shine.

Toppings are pretty much self-serve, as is the FroYo/sorbet, and be careful what you load up because the pricing is weight-based. Better yet, don't be cautious and let your tummy be in charge with lots to choose from, including boba, sprinkles, nuts, & about every candy bar you know. A couple of cups of FroYo, with moderate (and delicious) toppings ran us about $16, which is kind of pricey but that is on our selections instead of the product. The FroYo options, beyond the standard chocolate & vanilla, offered NY Cheesecake, a fabulous Very Strawberry, Cake Batter, and more. You are bound to find something you like. Service is friendly and the dining area is clean and comfortable. There are even a few games on hand should you want to make it more of a family-ish quality time visit. The type of place where the farmers are actually farmers. The type of place where the farmers will remember who you are and what you like. The type of farmers market where the farmer will bring you green tomatoes for the next week just because you want to fry some. It is also home to some of the most delicious tomatoes you will ever have in your life. I'm being serious here. There's this guy. He sells them out of the back of his truck. They are the ugliest tomatoes ever, but they are so good. I love this man and his tomatoes. I can't wait until it is July. If you want fancy stalls and pastas and breads and pies, then there's another farmers market close by that is probably better for you. I mean, the Shawnee Farmers Market does have some of this stuff, but for the most part it is just produce. I love it, and you should too.

This local spot is located in the little historic Lenexa downtown, which is itself somewhat hidden away now that the Lenexa Public Market is open and draws folks that way. Coming to this stretch of suburbia feels charming and quaint, and I love that there is a really fantastic local coffee shop nestled into this shopping center. Now onto what makes this place so special. There are tons of great cafes in Kansas City, but what sets Maps apart from the pack is that they roast their own beans in house and they are all super fresh. You can taste the difference in the brew and it's a nice change of pace to have something a bit different since many of the local spots in town use the same local roasters. Once you find out about Maps you'll start to notice other cafes and restaurants that use their beans. It's not as many as say, Messenger, but Maps holds their own in this arena. They also make their own chocolate! And when I say make, I mean make. They actually make the chocolate bars and not just the candies. Even more impressive, it's damn good chocolate. Honestly, if you haven't been to this spot and have a love for coffee and/or chocolate it's well worth a visit. The cherry on top for me is how unpretentious the entire place is. You'll feel welcome, and the staff working will be happy to chat your ears off about their products. 5/5 for me!

Maps... home of the best PSL ever?…read more I was in the area shopping with a friend and was in desperate need of caffeine. I just happened to stumble upon Maps and I couldn't be happier I did. I chose one of their seasonal menu items, a pumpkin spice latte, and was blown away by how good it was. The pumpkin flavor was nailed perfectly with the coffee. Service was incredible (for a fun surprise, enroll in the rewards program!), and the shop vibes are very relaxed. I'm looking forward to many future visits!

It's a pretty small area for eating, but that won't stop me from coming back again and again because I can't believe how much I enjoyed the Chorizo Rojo and the Jalapeno Cheddar Kielbasa! I also had the Chicken Apple which was good, but the other two were the stars of my tastebuds. There are never any good coupons, promotions, or discount days, but even so, I continued to support your business, spending on average $17 a visit. I kept hoping that once you were more established, you'd start showing some appreciation to your customers. But today was the last straw. My bowl wasn't even filled to the top. When I politely asked the employee for a bit more fruit, especially since there were only five blueberries in my bowl and plenty of room left, I was told that management has instructed staff to put no more than five blueberries in each bowl. They are not allowed to fill the bowls anymore. This is a lousy business practice, and it speaks volumes about how little you value your customers. There's a new açaí bowl establishment just miles away that offers BOGO days, a rewards program that actually counts, and bowls filled to the brim. You can keep your five blueberries. I'll be going elsewhere from now on.
