Their prices are competitive but the staff will naturally try to sell you their in-house products first. The selection goes well beyond that tho and you will find something for any type of exercise supplement need. PS: free body fat analysis is provided in store at any time.

I have come out of every experience happier than the last time. The selection of products is great, but the real value is the experience you have coming to this store. Joel and the rest of the staff work to make you feel welcome, understood, and appreciated. Whether it's having specific supplements you wish to avoid, questions about how a certain supplement will help you achieve your fitness goals, or how you should be eating with the supplements and how you should be taking them, they take the time to make sure you are leaving more than just supplements. The culture of this store is where its value really lies and I don't think I could got anywhere else because of it. You aren't just buying a product, you are gaining a support system that wants to see you succeed and is happy to help you achieve that success. Also, a special shout out again to Joel. He knows everyone who walks through that door and gives every customer he helps 110%. Just one of the kindest, friendliest, most positive people you can meet.

I wish it was around when I was living in the area. I would definitely be a regular customer! I visited on a quiet Tuesday afternoon, and the store was organized, neat, and easy to navigate, which was a lovely start. I had two main items on my mission: grabbing the Back to Nature Peanut Butter Creme Crackers (a snack I became obsessed with after a trip to New York!) and picking up a specific protein powder for my mom, which was on a great Buy One, Get One 50% Off deal. However, the real highlight was the service, thanks to Dahlia, a head cashier employee who stopped to help us. Dahlia was incredibly kind and went above and beyond. She walked us through the free rewards program, explaining not only how to find coupons but also detailing a huge deal: if you buy $100 or more in health & beauty products (including that protein powder!) within a three-month span, you will be able to get 30% off your next purchase. She explained that the purchases history for this deal resets after the three months are up. She even took the time to offer personalized recommendations, sharing her own experience with thinning and oily hair and suggesting specific shampoo and conditioner products for me to try. After Dahlia helped me with the rewards sign-up, I checked out with a different cashier. This cashier was also super nice; she knew I was setting up the account and proactively made sure I either entered my phone number or had my rewards barcode scanned before I paid, guaranteeing I got my points for that trip. The service didn't end there! I had a $3 off coupon for the protein powder that wouldn't go through due to the store's poor cell service/Wi-Fi connection. Dahlia, without hesitation, simply gave me $3 back in cash to honor the coupon deal--that is truly above and beyond customer service. I highly recommend this location! The product selection is great, and the atmosphere is pleasant, but the staff--especially Dahlia--is what makes this store shine.

This place was so weird…read more The guy at the register seemed like, hungover or something, and it just... took him a while... I hope he wasn't having a mini stroke. The item I purchased rang up at a higher price than what it said on the shelf. Never a good sign. Everything was really expensive, except for a few things on sale - like, I managed to find a single-serve yogurt on sale for $2.50 instead of $4.59. They have some bulk herbs and teas, but the selection is very, very limited. They have a couple water dispensers in back which is nice, but there's no price listed anywhere. I really want this kind of place to survive..... but it's just so pricey; and then the service wasn't great either.

Staff here was overall helpful and friendly. Store was very clean and I did like the layout it also wasn't too busy at all but the aisles can't be a big claustrophobic. Overall solid recommend for a healthy store

I love this store because it's the nearest store to go to return Amazon products. It also has a wide variety of meat, selections, cheese selections, and an amazing hot bar. You can get food items ranging from pizza to fried chicken to Indian curry plus incredible soups like minestrone and clam chowder. They have a wide variety of salads and cold food items like Sushi and sandwiches as well to offer. I recently checked out their cake selection and was blown away by the variety of decorative cupcakes they have started to carry. There is a cute little space near the entrance where you can enjoy the hot/cold bar food items. Apart from the above selections, they also have tons of frozen products, dairy items, vegetables, holistic medicines like supplements, clean skincare and makeup, and so on available for purchase. However, if I compare it with other stores, the pricing does tend to be on the higher side. That's why I do not do all my grocery shopping here. it's always clean. The staff is friendly approachable, and very helpful. If not for groceries, I would definitely recommend you to going in and trying their hot bar because you wouldn't regret it!! It's literally a one stop shop with everything you could want.

So I stopped in at the Emerald Forest during lunch one day. I was pretty sure this local health food and supplement store would carry it. They did have mineral salts deodorant -- two varieties in fact. The health and beauty section was probably the best-stocked part of the store, so I browsed around in the toothpastes, soaps and lotions for awhile. Every product I picked up was cruelty-free, and most were organic too. I made my way through the rest of the store more quickly because unlike the health and beauty aides, the other sections weren't quite as well-stocked, that is until I reached the vitamins and supplements. Emerald Forest's selection rivals GNC in this area, which must be their bread and butter. If you're used to the robust offerings at Whole Foods you won't be impressed by Emerald Forest. But if you just need the odd jar of amino acids or a big bottle of multi-vitamin and mineral supplements with whole food concentrates, they can hook you right up.

When stacked against giants like Whole Foods, you have to come in expecting that merchandise would be on the low side but here it's almost non-existent. I stopped counting the empty produce bins and shelves early on. Selection was scarce for many of my usual staples - cereals/granola, yogurt and pizzas. Their selection of herbal teas weren't bad with a full line of Celestial Seasonings, Yogi and Stash teas. Unfortunately, I have had the pleasure of experiencing Trader Joe's and that makes me almost shy away from any other place because their selection, pricing and service always outshine the rest, including Whole Foods or Wild Oats. For small shops, I always look for quality, selection and the friendliness of the workers, all of which were lacking substantially at Emerald. Not my kind of jewel.

As much as I would like to support a locally owned business, I just can't justify it with the type of service they offer in the store, their selection, and their pricing.

As it happens, they did have the product I was looking for (white chia seeds) but for the most part if you're looking for groceries neither of these stores are your first option. You need to go to Whole Foods, Natural Grocer, or the surprisingly complete health food departments at many local Hy-Vees! Service was friendly and efficient -- the woman at the counter could go right to the shelf where the white chia was located and the price was OK (it's very popular these days, it seems, so it's not inexpensive). If this location isn't near where you live, DO call them before going to save yourself a wasted trip. But if you're looking for supplements you should be happy camper here or at Emerald Forest! The store itself is extremely clean, well kept and the staff is helpful. I am sometimes disappointed they don't have certain brands or flavors ( Mikey's regular flavor English muffins) and a few other things. Sometimes I wish they carried more local type items, night shade free bbq/ketchup that is made in KC. I can typically find all of my healthy food here, for my everyday cooking. When you become a member ( super easy and you get points and coupons) they have speciality prices on things like organic eggs, avocados, bacon, kombcha. These special prices are all the time for members. Totally worth it for organic avocados and eggs!!!! They sell other items in bulk, organic almonds, cashews, coconut shreds, spices, seasonings and such. Makes it really easy to refill your jars at home and much cheaper then always buying new jars. They carry grab and go items, health and beauty items and supplements/vitamins. If you are looking for a healthy grocery option, head to NG. My only complaints are the food selection in the store as well as limited fresh meat options (almost everything is frozen). And, I wish this location was larger like the ones in Lenexa, Lawrence, and Liberty. If it was larger, I would shop here more often.
