Love love love this place! My son and I came to Wiener Kitchen for lunch, and really enjoyed our food. He (who is only 6) made a comment: this place knows how to make a delicious sausages! He kept saying yummy so many times. I got their special: Cuban, and my son got kids hot dog. If you love garlic, the garlic pork sausage in Cuban sandwich was phenomenal! It was juicy, rich, and well-seasoned. We got some frozen sausages from their freezer, and the owner explained to us how to cook them at home, which was so helpful! We will definitely come back to Wiener Kitchen. Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5

What a cute casual place. Locally owned. Friendly service & very welcoming. You order at the counter & they call you when it's ready. We ate inside & the food was seriously delicious! It's a meal that will fill you up. They offer a breakfast menu before 11am & a regular menu. Daily specials are available. Offers wide variety of canned & bottled beverages. They have sausages for sale if you want to grill at home. Highly recommend & will definitely be back.

Finally made it to Wiener Kitchen after seeing all the Facebook and Yelp buzz. It's a small artisan sausage shop with a fun, quirky menu and a butcher counter (bierocks, buns, sausages). Not your $1.50 Sam's dog--prices are higher, but you're paying for novelty and quality. I'd love to try the jalapeño kielbasa next time and bring home some traditional and breakfast bierocks to bake for brunch. (Big Runza vibes for me--went to high school in Nebraska, so I'm always curious when I see bierocks.) Our order: Chili Cheese Dog (Mom) - Wagyu brisket dog with chorizo black bean chili, cheddar, onions, hot sauce. Total fork-and-knife situation. Messy, bun got mushy, and Mom didn't find the chili tasty or fresh. Rating: 1/5 Chorizo Rojo (Mine) - Pork chorizo sausage on a crispy tortilla with cheddar, onion-jalapeño relish, and cilantro aioli. Loved the aioli and tortilla crunch; chorizo itself was fine but not mind-blowing. Rating: 4/5 Perspective check: We're not sausage/brat aficionados--we usually stick to Sam's Club Nathan hot dogs (not Costco!)--so connoisseurs might rate it differently. Mom's already crossed this place off her list, but I'd give it another shot to explore more of the menu. Overall: 3/5.

I personally don't like sausage or wieners but my husband does (insert joke here). We never catch this place open but today was our lucky day. Seriously. The people working were so nice. We had no idea what we were doing. We bought some merch, food from the butcher section, and two different sausage/hot dog on a steamed bun. (We bought only one because I assumed I wouldn't like it - then came back for a second) We tried the daily special (Hot Smoky) and KC Frank. Both were delicious. I highly recommend checking this place out. It's a super clean place for breakfast or lunch.

I thought I reviewed Weiner Kitchen! Well, it is about time I did! I love this place and if you like biscuits and gravy, try their bacon sausage smothered in sausage gravy. It is almost perfection, but to get it to perfection you have to add an over easy egg on top, a drizzle of hot sauce-optional. Nice selection of bottled beverages and chips. Bonus: they sell bacon, sausages, jalapeno poppers to take home. Staff are super nice too!

Outstanding wieners!!!! Got an assortment of wieners and sauces for an Octoberfest party and it was amazing. The staff was so helpful.

Limited hours--so plan accordingly. Expertly crafted sausages--absolutely delicious! A lot of creative options available, worth the effort to try a bunch of them. I think everyone who works here has significant culinary training and experience, so be ready to be amazed!

I leave maybe one Yelp review a year, if that. This place rocked my world. I loved the board showing all the local ingredients, I loved the staff talking dog preferences and how everything is made, I will have dreams about the dogs.

My go to place for fresh sausage and beef / steak. Love the items on their menu as well. The folks at the counter are very knowledgeable about all things sausage and always happy to help.

Amazing hot dogs and worth coming by during their hours (typically 7a-2pm Wed-Saturday). They also made a soup of the day which was a Thai chicken soup and it was also fabulous. It's a local business and definitely worth a visit!

Chili Cheese Dog Jalapeño Cheddar Kielbasa Bacon Sausage

Great service, knowledgeable and friendly staff who clearly are passionate about their business. Large selection of sausage options to take home and cook, but also great to-go. Decent portions and tasty unique sausages, but a bit pricey for what you get.

What a fun and delicious place to grab a brat or dog or kielbasa! I stopped by on my way back to Boise prior to being dropped off at the airport and it was well worth it! Grabbed a chicken apple brat and my buddy had the jalapeño cheddar kielbasa. The BEST! So tasty that my buddy ordered several others to take home back to Lawrence. Highly recommend you try this Kitchen out if you are in the area and enjoy a wonderful meal!

It's quite small, but I'm eager to go back and check out more things, especially as we get closer to holidays (and PIE, because they had a lot of pies that looked very promising). I ended up just grabbing a hot sandwich combo from the back: burnt ends, spicy sauce with tomato/cucumber salad as my side and it comes with a can of pop. Everyone was SO friendly! I think every employee in the store might have said hello at least once haha. It wasn't just to me; they were friendly to everyone. There was a ton of meat on the sandwich and the sandwich was good. Their standard BBQ sauce that the meat is lightly dressed in is maybe not my favorite I've ever had. It had maybe a fruity flavor to it that wasn't my favorite. The spicy sauce doesn't taste that much different, but it does pack a bit of a punch. Now if you eat raging spicy things all the time, you'll be fine, but if you're not into spice, you probably will think it's pretty spicy. I really loved that cucumber salad. As a side, it was a huge portion and I liked how the pieces were nice and chunky. I'll definitely be back and try some other things and have a closer look around. I also signed up for their emails so I'll get their ads.

A few days before Father's Day, I found myself in the comments section of a Meat Mitch post…read morefeaturing their annual crawfish boil. Someone from the restaurant replied to a comment I had made, rattling off menu recommendations and encouraging me to stop by. It worked. By the time Father's Day rolled around, Meat Mitch had become the destination. When we arrived, the place looked exactly like the kind of barbecue joint people hope to discover. The patio was alive. Kids chased each other through the crowd. Cornhole bags flew through the air. Families lingered around picnic tables while smoke drifted through the summer air. We were quoted an hour-and-a-half to two-hour wait. No problem. It was Father's Day. Barbecue and patience have always gone hand in hand. So we made an afternoon of it. My son found other kids to play with. My wife ducked into Billie's Grocery for a coffee and a snack. We wandered the Plaza, killed time, and enjoyed the day. Frankly, Meat Mitch seemed worth waiting for. A 90-to-120-minute wait eventually became three hours. That's when the story changed. At one point we sat near the expo window because the Toast waitlist showed we were next in line for a table. From there, we watched the operation for over an hour. The bottleneck appeared to be the expo station. Food runners stood ready while plates piled up in the window and tickets were worked one at a time. The entire process moved at a pace that would make the DMV ask if everything was okay. Meanwhile, managers were making rounds apologizing to guests, comping checks, and handing out gift cards. Every few minutes another table looked confused, frustrated, or defeated. As I listened to conversations around me, a pattern emerged. Multiple tables said they had already waited 45 minutes to an hour for food after being seated. That's when it clicked. The Toast waitlist showed we were next in line for a table. We weren't next to eat. We were next to sit. By this point my son was having a better Father's Day than I was. He'd made friends, played games, and explored the Plaza. I spent mine watching plates age in the expo window like they were being dry-aged alongside the brisket. What really broke my brain was watching carryout orders continue to leave the building while the dining room was drowning. If your quoted wait has turned into three hours, managers are comping meals, and guests are openly frustrated, maybe it's time to stop accepting new problems and start solving the ones already sitting in your restaurant. Then there was the expo station. For over an hour, I watched the same pair of gloves touch faces, clothing, equipment, tickets, and food. By the end they were shiny with grease, stretched loose from overuse, and inspiring absolutely zero confidence. I've seen cast-iron skillets retired sooner than those gloves. I've worked in restaurants long enough to know everyone has bad days. Father's Day is chaos. People call out. Equipment breaks. Tickets stack up. It happens. But after three hours--already an hour longer than the maximum wait we were quoted--I never got to try the barbecue that brought me there in the first place. Unfortunately, I can't review the food. The only thing I got to sample was my patience. And that's a shame. Because everything about Meat Mitch made me want to like Meat Mitch. The patio was great. The atmosphere was great. The energy was great. It felt like the kind of place where you could spend an entire afternoon with people you enjoy being around. In a way, that's what made the experience so frustrating. The promise of a great Father's Day was sitting right in front of me. I just never made it to the table. Update: After sharing my experience with management, Meat Mitch reached out, accepted responsibility for what happened, and invited me back. I appreciate the professionalism and plan to give them another opportunity.
