    Pitmaster Platter

Meat Mitch is good but very mid compared to other KC bbq spots. We got the pit master platter so that we could try a bit of everything. What we liked: -sausage is really good -loved the burnt ends -I personally loved the ribs but they were a little tough What was just okay: -brisket, no flavor -pulled pork was fine -turkey was fine -cheesy jalapeño corn is not good. think watery corn I think the sauces are just your personal preference. To me, they were a little sickly sweet

Food yummy. Service friendly and surprisingly fast. The space was packed but not a long wait for a Saturday evening. Chiefs aren't playing so that could be why. There are TVs galore. Winners win platter was good per the people I was with. I am a pescatarian so I decided to get the salmon wrap without avocado (I'm allergic). It was good but I wish it was bigger for the price. The fries were tasty and seasoned very nicely. We'd come here again for sure!

We took friends visiting from Puerto Rico to try some of the great BBQ KC has to offer, and this was our lunch spot. It did not disappoint. We ordered the Pit-master platter to share with curly fries and an extra side of their onion rings. OMG, everything was cooked to perfection. The brisket will always be my favorite, but those ribs and the sausage were simply mind blowing! The vibe is fun too. It feels like you're outside at a BBQ competition, even though you're inside. We went early on a Tuesday, so no rush, and service was great.

I always love coming here! The food is always tasty and there's always something for anybody, no matter your diet instructions. The service this time was a little slow, but definitely understandable with the amount of customers that our waitress was waiting on. She was really friendly and sweet. The ambience here is like a family sports bar, barbecue, and unique eat joint that makes you want to come back for Moore.

The Return! So this is a bit of a story. I am sitting on the couch watching some video about a guy that travels the world eating (I wish I were one of these people), and he is trying Kansas City area BBQ. Oh, and this is part 2! So, after scoffing because these are always the same, I proceeded to watch. Like ya do! In this video, the guy goes to Meat Mitch, and they bring him something brand new. A burnt-end corndog! I immediately call up my friend David L. (see his Yelp reviews, he's nicer than me) and have him meet me here specifically for the Burnt-end Corndog. I need to let you know that this item is ONLY on the happy hour menu, and of course, we were several hours away from happy hour. But, the staff said "no problem and got it for us anyway! We also enjoyed other items off the appetizer menu and a few beers. All I can say at this point is I can't wait to go back and get another!

Average: The sausage was pretty normal for a BBQ restuarant. Burnt ends were good, held their own. Brisket was good balance of fat, tenderness and not dry. Above average: Turkey stood out as the winner. Not a lot of BBQ restaurants have it, very moist. Street corn had a great kick. Reminds of me literally what you would find in the street in a place like L.A. Wings, oh yea, the dry rub was solid. Service good, ambiance nice.

My husband and I are not adventurous when it comes to BBQ, we have our go to when we're craving it. But word on the street is Meat Mitch has a killer smash burger, so of course I had to check it out! And can confirm, the smash burger was very good! My husband ended up getting some BBQ to try and it was good, but the smash burger was really where it was at! Service was good, our waitress was very nice. The dining area was bigger than I expected it to be. It would be a fun place to visit in the spring/ summer to utilize the outdoor area!

    Burnt End Birria
    Jacob R.

I ordered the burnt end birria tacos, which are the Tuesday special. It was around $16 and was absolutely amazing. It was packed full of flavor with the meat being super tender. The only complaint for the tacos would be that the corn tortillas were soggy instead of crispier. The service was super friendly, the server told us her favorites and was very kind. Even while leaving they were very nice. I also tried the sticky fries which were very unique and good. The overall vibe was very busy even tho our food did not take very long to come out.

Okay I was so hungry I forgot to take pics of the food. I did get the meat platter. The turkey was dry and the 2 sides were cold- corns and beans. Should they be? The burnt ends were incredible and so was the pulled pork. I also loved the BBQ sauces. I did take pics of the cocktails. Reservations on a weekend night recommended. I will be back!

    Texas Ranger

The Pitch Sandwich Week Texas Ranger 1/2 price $7.50 (original $15) This is a pretty solid barbecue beef brisket sandwich however, it could use some more pizazz. The cheesy corn on the other hand, no notes. It carries the whole meal and is a must order, maybe it's a midwestern barbecue thing but, cheesy corn has my heart and soul. I'm not sure what charred mayo is but, what I am sure of is it added a much needed creaminess to a sandwich that could pull dry. The other component of this sandwich which makes it rich and wet is the cheese fondue that's added on top, the peppery punch of the pepperjack Is just the right amount of spice. I've come to love the addition of a crispy fried onion on top of just about anything and especially on top of a barbecue sandwich! If anything was missing I feel like it needed more of a pickled element, I would have loved some sort of freshness from a little bit veg (one that wasn't fried) Overall Meat Mitch has got the meat part down to near perfection, as far as a sit down barbecue restaurants go (in the suburbs, on the *scoff* KS side) this is as good as it gets. I love the openness of the restaurant but it can get loud. The most fun thing this places offers is the Whomp popcorn you can purchase and take home that's generously dusted with special seasonings. The con of this place is definitely the prices, they are sit down prices for sure but, the service doesn't always match the price point. Meat Mitch is definitely one of the big boys when it comes to "fancier" barbecue options but, if you're like me then wait for a (Pitch) promotion.

NOT the best bbq in KC. Joes will always outshine. What I did not like most was the burnt ends. Dry, fatty, and sauce was blah. The rosemary carrots were way too overpowering with rosemary and I was so excited for those! Fries were good. Service took about 20 mins for carry out which I found odd, and the place was empty. I would not eat here again. Not when there are a dozen better bbq joints in the area.

    zcheckmate- Loaded Baked Potato
    Brandon S.

Staff were extremely friendly, with them giving me extra sauce to try since this was my first time eating there. They had this cool installation of Weber Grill covers used as chandeliers. Very clean and well kept up both in and outside. Now the food was legit. The load baked potato was filled with tender burnt ends under all of the toppings. The loaded curly fries had candied bacon & crispy pulled pork, absolutely delicious. What's not pictured is the jalapeño & Jack cheese sausage, which I ordered cold and used in breakfast hash bowls. Will definitely go back again and try more items.

    Burnt ends corndog
    David L.

Stopped in after hearing about the Burnt ends Corndog, which apparently was not supposed to be an actual menu item but enough people requested it they added for lunch. The staff was amazing and offered to make us one during the dinner time. It was absolutely amazing, one problem is there we only ordered one!!! The Meat Tower was a great mix of meats from Candied bacon, meat spread, sausage, nachos, wings and fried pickles. There is almost more than two people can eat. Well worth the price and every bite worth!!

Tater kegs were good, taste and size-wise. But we wound up hardly eating much of the fried pickles. They were drowned in salt, so much so even the ranch couldn't compensate or cover it up. My wife got the unlimited wings. She tried three different flavor of wings, all very salty to the taste. Sweet Chili, the Popping Pineapple and the Teriyaki. And the teriyaki really didn't taste like teriyaki at all. My daughter had the veggie burger, and she said it was very salty. I ordered the deviled eggs and the jalapeno creamed corn. The deviled eggs were good; filling was a little runnier than I usually like in a deviled egg. The jalapeno creamed corn had some good spice, but another dish that had entirely too much salt in it. When my wife and first got there to get the table for our party, the host asked if we had the app. We did not, he instructed us how to download it, and told us we'd be getting an email for a free burger. He also told us about the 20% off "Vintage" discount for seniors, of which I am one. At the end of our meal, the server (who was really cool, by the way) gave us our bill, which totalled with tax $165 plus some change. I told him I was a senior and wanted the vintage discount. He brought in iPad over, entered a couple things and brought us a new bill. I glanced at it and it said $163 and some change. So I walked after him and asked him if I paid up front and that's where they gave the discount. He said no you pay me and I did give you the discount. Sure enough, on the receipt, it was saying vintage discount......$2.60. Now I use math in my head every day for work as an air traffic controller, so it didn't take me long to figure out $2.60 is WAY BELOW 20% off of $165. I was looking for some fine print somewhere that might explain this particular math conundrum. Couldn't find anything. I was going to find our server or a manager, but the family was ready to go, and since it was a birthday my wife didn't want me to make an issue of it, so we left. Not happy with the liberal usage of salt in everything, and with today's prices, especially not happy with the issue with the discount that was about 18% short. Probably won't be back.
