Wings were awesome!
Madeleine L.

Good food! Their wings were the best I have ever had! My bowl had too much fried onions though. Great service. Definitely worth a stop.

Stopped in for a cocktail during happy hour and so glad we did. We ordered the cornbread bites on the earlybird menu for six dollars, and they were amazing, I couldn't stop eating them. We also ordered the raspberry Cosmo and they were prepared perfectly. We sat at the bar the bartender was kind, and the service was exceptional. Unfortunately, we did not stay for dinner, so I'm not sure how the food was. They did have a takeout area, which was a nice touch or you can sit and dine in the restaurant.

The barbecue was okay, but for the price point I wouldn't come back here again. We ordered the barbecue mac as well as the French dip, and both were delicious, but it was expensive for what it was. The sauces were unfortunately unimpressive as well. The waitress was nice and the dining area was very open and had tons of natural light. However, you can find better KC barbecue at other places...

What started off as an excursion for a snack turned into an incredible dining experience! First off, the aroma from Burnt End hits you like a warm hug, and then you see the openness and roof lighting above the bar hitting every part of the restaurant. A server quickly mentioned their Happy Hour specials and I was sold -- I wish I had tried everything listed. The barbecue is amazing, sides are amazing, and their SAUCES *chef's kiss*!!! The highlight for me was the phenomenal service, but the bartender Terrance deserves every ounce of praise I can give. His presence? Warm. Recommendations? Top-tier. He truly exemplifies what you would want to see in any restaurant and I left highly satisfied. If you're in Kansas City and haven't visited Burnt Ends yet, do yourself a favor. Go for the Happy Hour and stick around...you won't regret it. I'll be back with coworkers next time.

Service was quick and wings came out piping hot and juicy, had good flavor but I wasn't impressed with the cookie (forgot to take a pic). Descriptions said served warm, it wasn't and was very small to be almost $4 for one.

Salmon & fries (food allergies). Exceptional customer service!!! Mark- manager & waiter Terance!!! Thank you!!!

Excellent downtown and beautiful full-service bar (as well as eatery), located in Kansas City. Super happy hour daily from 4p-6p when house Martini's and Margaritas are no more than $8. Enjoyed a scrumptious pretzel w/cheddar cheese while savoring a house Margarita (on the rocks with salt, of course).

Burt ends and pulled pork

Delicious. I could end my review there and it would tell you everything I had the burnt beef ends, pulled pork, potato salad, and creamy coleslaw. Nice size portions with choice of 3 bbq sauce at the table. The coleslaw had loads of celery seed which, personally, I love. Service was quick and friendly. They have a full bar for eating in and a nice size seating area. Separate take-out for quick pickup.

Chicken Philly Burnt Ends Sandwich

I am so glad I ate here during my trip to Kansas City! The burnt ends sandwich was my favorite. Their fries were so crispy! They have 4 sauces to choose from. You must try their 'Fire' barbecue sauce, exceptional! It's very bright and warm inside with the glass ceiling. Their booths are large and comfortable. The Bloody Mary wasn't my favorite but the garnishing was great.

I stopped in on National Burnt Ends Day this past Monday afternoon 9/1/25 after visiting the Museum of BBQ one floor above in Crown Center. I was sort of expecting a special or some sort of recognition of the day since Burnt End is in the name, but nope they didn't have a clue. When I arrived, i waited at the "please wait to be seated" sign for ever without acknowledgment. I finally made eye contact with a barback behind the bar and motioned that I was going to sit at the empty bar in a nearly empty restaurant. I was given a drink, menu and my order was taken quickly and then my Burnt Ends Bowl was delivered promptly. A nice choice that I had on an earlier visit. Six chunks of wonderfully prepared burnt ends and chunks of cornbread served over a bed of baked beans with onion straws. An above average offering although the price point is a bit high for the quantity of meat. After my food was dropped off it was "ignore the customers" time. Two college age girls came in and shortly after two middle aged gents all seated themselves at the bar. About 10 minutes later someone emerged from the kitchen giving the girls a menu and completely ignored the gentlemen from out of town. They went to the hostess stand and got themselves a menu while we made small talk. Another few minutes later, the kitchen gent passes by and I flash my card so maybe someone will ring me up and I can leave and be ignored in my own home -where I don't have to pay for the experience. Another 5 minutes and my waitress emerges from the outdoor patio and asks if i'm ready; I politely replied "for quite some time" and bit my tongue on what I wanted to say. The two tourists asked me what I suggested while waiting on my check and I told them that they should order an Uber and go somewhere that cares about customer service. This is maddening at any restaurant but makes my blood boil when they are inside of Crown Center that caters to vacationers and business travelers. This pitiful lack of customer service helps to give KC a poor reputation. Burnt End BBQ, get your act together or close up shop and let a destination worthy BBQ joint that respects all of their paying customers - local and visiting - with some respect.

Chicken quesadilla for my you d daughter...don't judge us.
Jennifer M.

I almost gave this place 4 stars solely because the Old Fashioned I ordered was mostly ice, but I slowly realized I had to wake up and say to myself, "is a bbq joint. They're not known for their Old Fashions. What are you thinking?" I orders the Burnt Ends Nachos and the B.E. Raspberry Cosmo and could barely walk out of the resturant because I was so fully contented. They had a party of 30 guests and the entire resturant was PACKED. The staff was INCREDIBLE, moving quickly but calmly and courtesies to all. This place knows what they're serving and how to treat guests. Chefs kiss!

Jolene M.

Went to an event here and food was amazing. Best wings I've had in KC and those corn fritters!! Staff was helpful and super friendly. Loved the bar seating and having a BBQ spot at Crown Center!

Burnt End Nachos
Taylor T.

Located inside Crown Center it's one of the sit down local dining options and a fairly good one at that however, it's by far not any where near the best barbecue in the city. The sauce selection is really good though with a large variety of options to choose from which makes it fun to sample and dip into many different varieties. Since the name had Burnt End in it I found it fitting to order items that contained the namesake. So, on my first visit I went with the burnt end nachos and the burnt end bowl and a few sides. The nachos were pretty standard but definitely were filling and hit the mark for the price, that's another thing this place can get a tad bit expensive if you order a number of things from the menu to sample. They had a good amount of meat on them, cheese and jalapeños but not much else, in my opinion they could have benefitted from some barbecue beans added on top but overall I would order them again. The bowl on the other hand was a tad overpriced, at almost $18, and had a few flaws. Though I really enjoyed the crispy onion straws piled on top the cornbread cubes which seemed to originally be slightly crunchy became soggy layered into the bowl with the beans, sauce and meat. Also, there wasn't enough meat in the bowl, the nachos seemed to contain many more pieces of burnt ends, some of the burnt ends in the bowl were also a little fatty. But, the sides shined. The vinegar based slaw had a nice kick and was zingy and fresh, it paired well with both the nachos and the bowl. The onion rings were well fried and crunchy and it was a blast dipping them in all the different sauce options. I wouldn't go out of my way to go to Burnt End BBQ but, if you're at crown center and are craving a barbecue meal then it is worth stopping by. The space itself is really beautiful with great natural light and nice big bar but, it is an order at the counter type situation which doesn't necessarily match the vibe of the restaurant.

Meal number 2, a build your own bowl at the bar, wasn't as good of an experience as my first meal here.

You get so much food for the price, we ended up taking most of it home lol. We ordered the Round Up and made some swaps, went with the beef brisket, beef burnt ends, sausage, and the crown prime beef rib. Everything was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. The burnt ends were a standout, super tender with that perfect char. The mac and cheese was also solid and hit the spot. The ambience was great, nice balance of upscale and casual with a warm, inviting feel. It's the kind of place you can relax, enjoy good food, and not feel rushed. Service was great too. Our server (I think his name was Thoeun) was super friendly and took good care of us the whole time. Also have to mention the carrot cake... unreal. We're not even carrot cake people, but this one changed that. Highly recommend if you're ever in Kansas City.

It had acid, sugar and salt and a hint of bitterness which made it taste really interesting and vibrant. The interior had high-ceiling and carried the ambiance of a steakhouse. I ordered the brisket combo with a quarter chicken leg, cheesy corn, and baked potato casserole. My partner went with the brisket sandwich. The chicken was outstanding too: lightly sauced, deeply flavored, juicy all the way through. Every bite tasted intentional. Even eating it on the go, slightly improvised utensil situation and all, this was some of the best Kansas City BBQ we've had. Would absolutely come back -- preferably with forks next time.

Wolfpack BBQ is a diamond in a rough that people need to have on their radar for the best bbq in…read morethe city. When we have friends visit from out of town or fellow locals looking for something new we take them there and it's always a guaranteed hit. Their brisket is always top notch along with their pork belly burnt ends and the sausage is amazing. I think their fries are just about the best in the city and my wife agrees. Honestly though I'll be the first to say there are so many bbq places with not spicy sauces that are labeled spicy so I really appreciate that their spicy bbq sauce actually brings a good amount of heat. Not enough that I'm dying but you know it's there. If they sold it in a bottle I'd be the first to buy it for when I grill wings or chicken at home. This time we went and had the opportunity for the first time in a minute to try their new menu options. The thing that stood out was their Mac and cheese. Their revised recipe for it has been firmly cemented at the top of my list for best in the city. Most other bbq places really don't have the right salt level so it is left feeling bland, and to be honest that was my complaint about wolfpacks Mac in the past. But this new revised recipe has the perfect salt amount that drives the flavor of the béchamel they make for it and its seasoning to a place that other bbq places in KC just don't really come close to touching. I wish I had a spoon to eat the last little bit of the cheese sauce at the bottom of my bowl it was that good. Next time I'm there I think I'm going to try their brisket Philly because that sounds too good to be true. I appreciate their staff and owner for being attentive to the finer points and making sure every platter is served to the best of their ability and not sitting on their laurels and continuing to revise and hone their BBQ. Wolfepack has never missed and I don't think it ever will. I'm glad that I found it and I'll be going there for as long as it is around, don't hesitate and give it a try, I don't think you'll regret it.

I preferred the flavor of the burnt ends to the turkey though again it was well executed. Both the regular and the spicy barbecue sauces are pretty pedestrian... Nothing fancy. While KC is known for their tomato based sauce AB's is known for their pork ribs and molasses based sauce. While Oak is popular in Texas, Hickory is the main wood used here to pair that sweetness with the molasses with a little oak to finish. As one of the most popular/famous BBQ joints in the area and maybe the country the line can be long at times, but generally not time consuming of a wait. Like alot of the big boys they have a great system of cooking and serving. Service is somewhere between big ticket and owner operated. Decor is still gas station with a smoke house, but they have some massive roittiserrie smokers using blast cyclinder design for efficiency. Their ribs are meaty, nice sweet bark, spicy sweet sauce, mellow oqk flavor. The open faced burnt ends are less candy and more charred nuggets, juicy, less unctuous as they grill it to finish. I found their turkey a little dry, could use a longer brine or even better twined to keep tight as the fibers tore too much on cutting making it shredded/shaved rather than sliced. Great sausage, thought I'd have liked some creativity as the smoke doesn't really accentuate it as much as it could if they had other flavors. I still prefer the Texas style brisket as the bark is more pronounced. They even have chicken tenders for the kids which are deep fried, a little overseasoned for kids (yes I had to try it). Baked beans were sweet, thick, rich on the molasses and smoke, but at this point its a bean jam and a little rich. Dirty rice which i thought was a southern thing was fluffy, aromatic, umami, a true side dish. Potato salad was a little dry, potatos were sized all over the place so some were overcooked and some closer to raw. Go casserole next time or get the cheesey corn, but you can't do both, it's too much. The onion rings were crunchy and sweet and went with their sauce amazing. The fries aren't an afterthought and complimentary to their other non brisket/ribs items. Prices are avctually below average, service is quite good, but to me being an OG it really has changed under the new management. I'm not sure i'll need to come here again as this was my 2nd trip here and i'm not sure it's a must eat place anymore. After all the BBQ tours I've done I really do prefer Texas and SC styles and have found other KCBBQ spots that give a better representation of KCBBQ.

Let me start with the meat, because that's what keeps me coming back. It's the real deal. You actually get a proper slice of brisket--not a fatty mess, but tender, flavorful, and done right. The turkey? Absolutely divine. Juicy, smoky, and honestly one of my favorites on the menu. Now, I have to be honest about the sauce. The original just isn't for me--it's a little too gritty and heavy on the vinegar. But their sweet and spicy sauce? That's a whole different story. It completely transforms the sandwich into something incredible and, in my opinion, way better than I remember growing up. The ribs aren't my personal favorite here, but everything else hits. The fries are exactly what you want alongside BBQ, and the pickles just round everything out perfectly. Arthur Bryant's is still a Kansas City staple for a reason--great meat, rich history, and flavors that keep you coming back... especially if you go sweet and spicy.

We stopped in to use the restroom and on our defeated-walk back to the car, we noticed a separate area for take-out ordering. I was reading the sign, trying to decide if we wanted to wait for take-out. As we were deciding what to do, out walks a guy [Tyler Wigger] and asks us what we were up to.
