We found the Blind box / Pressed pig on accident. There was a really long line at another coffee shop, and we looking for another coffee shop that was close by. The Pressed pig came up on yelp. As we started to drive toward it, we realized that they are located inside of the Nebraska mart, what a hidden treat!! My husband and I both got hot coffees. I technically did the dirty Chai, that it has Chai tea with espresso and my husband got a turtle coffee. My husband also got a cinnamon roll and my daughter got a chocolate croissant. The prices are competitive with other "fancy" coffee shops but I will tell you that the Chai with espresso was one of the best I had ever had. It was flavorful and it was smooth, it didn't taste bitter at all. My husband and daughter loved their pastries, plus there was no line!! So next time we are looking for coffee, I definitely believe this will become our new spot when we're close to the legends. Oh and my husband wants to come back and try the BBQ.

We are in town for a family emergency and we are sick of sandwiches and fast food. I was very pleasantly surprised. The wings were very meaty, the fries were hot & crispy! The guy who brought our food to the table was nice enough and the ambiance was sports bar-ish. I would definitely give them and try! Only complaint was there were no clean tables so we just picked the least messy.

The sides were very good. The beans are definitely KC style. The smoked potato salad was nice. The meat was served cold. Disappointing. The meat lacked a true smoky flavor. The service was fast. Maybe too fast. The atmosphere is noisy. It is in Nebraska Furniture Mart. I would go to Famous Dave's which is in the general area. It's better BBQ.

We stopped in before hitting up NFM. The menu has a great selection of entrees and sides. I went with the platter of burnt ends and brisket with a side of potato salad. Hubs decided on a brisket sandwich with cheese and bell peppers and French fries. Service was a little slow at this location - as there was only one person taking the order and the same person preparing the meal and serving to tables. The fries were unseasoned. But everything else was fantastic with great flavor.

We checked out the bbq at blind box after reading the reviews. It is inside of the Nebraska furniture mart but it is a fully functional restaurant with nice decor. The service was excellent and the food was out fairly quickly. The food was delicious. My sandwich was piping hot -the only feedback was the smoked sausage was a bit cold. Would recommend it's worth checking out.

Went to have dinner before a sporting game, this place is located in NFM. It is a order than sit type of restaurant. Line was about 8 orders deep, took about 15 to get the front. A little confusing where to pick up the beer after ordering. Food came out in about 15 minute. I had bbq wontons and my dad got Bleu brunt end salad. I loved the wontons, definitely something to try. I added honey mustard as dipping sauce. Onion tangles on the salad were crispy but the burnt ends were just ok.

In Kansas City for a short visit and had to have bbq. Never have been here before but trusted reviews on Yelp. And it did not disappoint!! Get the bbq nachos. Just do it! Its layers of fixin's - not fixin's all dumped on top. The bottom nacho had bbq and ooey gooey stuff just like the top nacho. The pico gave it a hint of heat and the sweet corn was the connector between the meat and queso. But not to be outdone was the Notorious Pig, piled HIGH with pulled pork, sausage, Mac and cheese, fried onion strings and bbq sauce- YUM! Love the casual vibe and live music on Friday night. Counter cashier was super helpful when I said we'd never been here before. And when you're done eating you can shop at NFM without leaving the building, lol. Truly a great find.

Cashier was zero help and zero smiles (you order at the cash register). In fact she seemed a bit annoyed that we had questions and didn't know the answers. Simple question ("It looks like pretzel bites are the same price on the happy hour menu as the regular menu, is there a difference?" "I dunno..."). Having said that, the food was good and the giant store that it's in is fun to browse around in! Maybe she was having a rough day, But they definitely didn't have their people person on the register. Ok. Rant over, food was fine I'd eat it again. Go check it out!

I really enjoy Blind Box BBQ at their Shawnee location. We stopped by the Nebraska Furniture Mart location before a Monarchs game. There was not a long wait and the food came out very quickly. The BBQ nachos are a ton of chips and really is more than enough for 2 or 3 people. There was not a lot of meat on these though and the chips at the center had not toppings. The wontons were just ok. They did not compare to the wontons at the other location. Overall, this was an ok stop for us before going to a game. I would probably come back for nachos if I wanted something quick in this area.

Location: Kansas City Kansas. Inside Nebraska Furniture Mart. Ambiance: indoor and outdoor seating. It is very convenient if you come to NFM. Food: it is good. Ribs and their BBQ sauces are delicious. Not the quality that you get on Q39 or Fiorella's. But this place is decent. Be careful at choosing the sides. Mc and cheese was horrible, lacked flavor and cheese, and pasta was overcooked Service: You order at the front desk, you get a number, and they bring the order to your table. Sauces and drinks are self-service.

This is a place I wanted to like more than I actually did. Blind Box BBQ is located inside Nebraska Furniture Mart. Part of the concept is, you can buy adult beverages and enjoy them while you shop. That part is pretty cool. I'm focusing my review on the restaurant itself. It's a partial service place, in other words you go up to the counter, place your order, and they bring the food to you. After, I most people clearing their trash away. The employees are for the most part really friendly and helpful (one girl did look like she was just having a bad day). I just couldn't get over the food. Their BBQ is really sweet. I ordered the half chicken dinner (comes with 2 sides). FPO had the burnt ends dinner. I guess the burnt ends were pretty good, the coleslaw was nothing special. My chicken was really dry. My smoked potato salad was okay but I think it had bacon in it (something that really should be mentioned). The onion strings were super salty. As was the fried pickles appetizer. All in all, I was curious about this place and we tried it. I don't need to go back. People, good; ambiance, good; concept, good; food, no.

    Delicious!

Absolutely delicious! First off, I normally don't name employees but Jonathan was exceptional. He was upbeat when he greeted me, then when I didn't know what to order, he was able to quickly give me several options off the top of his head. He also came by later to ensure my food was good. It's always refreshing to see people who actually care about their job, the food they are giving the customer, and the company. The BBQ nachos were SO GOOD!!! They make their own white cheese sauce which was great on the loaded chips, and it was the perfect combo of ingredients. This restaurant is in Nebraska Furniture and is well worth visiting!

Didn't expect much from a bbq joint inside NFM, but man, it was surprisingly good! Everything my family tried was delicious and nice large portions (even the kids menu!). They didn't skimp on the meat either. Delicious! And it was busy for a Tuesday night!

While KC is known for their tomato based sauce AB's is known for their pork ribs and molasses based sauce. While Oak is popular in Texas, Hickory is the main wood used here to pair that sweetness with the molasses with a little oak to finish. As one of the most popular/famous BBQ joints in the area and maybe the country the line can be long at times, but generally not time consuming of a wait. Like alot of the big boys they have a great system of cooking and serving. Service is somewhere between big ticket and owner operated. Decor is still gas station with a smoke house, but they have some massive roittiserrie smokers using blast cyclinder design for efficiency. Their ribs are meaty, nice sweet bark, spicy sweet sauce, mellow oqk flavor. The open faced burnt ends are less candy and more charred nuggets, juicy, less unctuous as they grill it to finish. I found their turkey a little dry, could use a longer brine or even better twined to keep tight as the fibers tore too much on cutting making it shredded/shaved rather than sliced. Great sausage, thought I'd have liked some creativity as the smoke doesn't really accentuate it as much as it could if they had other flavors. I still prefer the Texas style brisket as the bark is more pronounced. They even have chicken tenders for the kids which are deep fried, a little overseasoned for kids (yes I had to try it). Baked beans were sweet, thick, rich on the molasses and smoke, but at this point its a bean jam and a little rich. Dirty rice which i thought was a southern thing was fluffy, aromatic, umami, a true side dish. Potato salad was a little dry, potatos were sized all over the place so some were overcooked and some closer to raw. Go casserole next time or get the cheesey corn, but you can't do both, it's too much. The onion rings were crunchy and sweet and went with their sauce amazing. The fries aren't an afterthought and complimentary to their other non brisket/ribs items. Prices are avctually below average, service is quite good, but to me being an OG it really has changed under the new management. I'm not sure i'll need to come here again as this was my 2nd trip here and i'm not sure it's a must eat place anymore. After all the BBQ tours I've done I really do prefer Texas and SC styles and have found other KCBBQ spots that give a better representation of KCBBQ.

Let me start with the meat, because that's what keeps me coming back. It's the real deal. You actually get a proper slice of brisket--not a fatty mess, but tender, flavorful, and done right. The turkey? Absolutely divine. Juicy, smoky, and honestly one of my favorites on the menu. Now, I have to be honest about the sauce. The original just isn't for me--it's a little too gritty and heavy on the vinegar. But their sweet and spicy sauce? That's a whole different story. It completely transforms the sandwich into something incredible and, in my opinion, way better than I remember growing up. The ribs aren't my personal favorite here, but everything else hits. The fries are exactly what you want alongside BBQ, and the pickles just round everything out perfectly. Arthur Bryant's is still a Kansas City staple for a reason--great meat, rich history, and flavors that keep you coming back... especially if you go sweet and spicy.

When we have friends visit from out of town or fellow locals looking for something new we take them there and it's always a guaranteed hit. Their brisket is always top notch along with their pork belly burnt ends and the sausage is amazing. I think their fries are just about the best in the city and my wife agrees. Honestly though I'll be the first to say there are so many bbq places with not spicy sauces that are labeled spicy so I really appreciate that their spicy bbq sauce actually brings a good amount of heat. Not enough that I'm dying but you know it's there. If they sold it in a bottle I'd be the first to buy it for when I grill wings or chicken at home. This time we went and had the opportunity for the first time in a minute to try their new menu options. The thing that stood out was their Mac and cheese. Their revised recipe for it has been firmly cemented at the top of my list for best in the city. Most other bbq places really don't have the right salt level so it is left feeling bland, and to be honest that was my complaint about wolfpacks Mac in the past. But this new revised recipe has the perfect salt amount that drives the flavor of the béchamel they make for it and its seasoning to a place that other bbq places in KC just don't really come close to touching. I wish I had a spoon to eat the last little bit of the cheese sauce at the bottom of my bowl it was that good. Next time I'm there I think I'm going to try their brisket Philly because that sounds too good to be true. I appreciate their staff and owner for being attentive to the finer points and making sure every platter is served to the best of their ability and not sitting on their laurels and continuing to revise and hone their BBQ. Wolfepack has never missed and I don't think it ever will. I'm glad that I found it and I'll be going there for as long as it is around, don't hesitate and give it a try, I don't think you'll regret it.

I did find that $4.50 for a total of five medium to small onion rings was a bit excessive and not worth the cost. French fries were flavorful and worth the price. It's great to have a good barbecue joint close by. Want to try their hamburgers. Thank you for a good dinner.
