    Order at the counter

I may have found a new favorite BBQ restaurant in KC!!! I seen the reviews were good and when we pulled up, there were already a few people inside & many more were coming in while we were . Order at the register and food is ready in about 10-15 minutes. I ordered a quarter pound of pulled pork and burnt ends entrée that came with baked beans. That was enough for two people to share. The pulled pork has a lot of flavor and it's juicy super yummy. The burnt ends were the same and not very fatty. Beans were a little sweet. My friend ordered the brisket and said it is super tender like prime rib!!

Took me and my husband far too long to finally stop in and try!! Everything about our experience was awesome. Everyone was so kind, service was good, and our food was great! Their margs seemed different than most margaritas to me; I'm not sure what it is about them here, but I really liked them ! Enjoyed this spot for sure - we will definitely be back !!

As someone who loves KC bbq and also smokes their own meats at home, I may have came into this with higher expectations than I should have. Our office ordered food to-go for lunch, and it was good but definitely doesnt compete with other local joints here for me. I will give them the benefit of the doubt on having it to go, and try it out again though. The price for the portions just seems like not alot of bbq, it was like $23 for 5 burnt ends with 2 sides. The burnt ends were great flavor wise, and the fries were good. BBQ sauce was just okay, a little too sweet for me, the "hot" bbq didnt have any sort of kick to it. The Cheesy hashbrowns were really good!

The staff was really pleasant! We arrived before they were open, and they came outside greeted us and told us they were opening soon. The food, was OUTSTANDING! We got the sampler platter, for two and was very pleased with the portion and the taste was excellent! Definitely get this down your neck!

So we stopped in here as we always are looking for bbq and wow did we hit it good , I've reviewed a lot of ribs in the USA and these were the most fall off spare ribs I've had , I even got a chance to talk with the owner and compliment him see pics , he brought out a jumbo wing which hardly anyone does any more , three step process I tell you what wow that was the best wing I've had no kidding !! Then to top it off he brought out a cookie chocolate chunk butterscotch multi recipe . They were a million dollar cookie! Great people great place clean comfortable 100 stars good job ! Just one little thing I would suggest I'm a sweet bbq sauce person if you could make some .

ok i'll start with the good. The space is new so it's nice & clean. The staff is very friendly. The sauces are good but on the sweet side, but the so-called "spicy" is not even remotely spicy The french fries are good but that's not why anyone is going to a BBQ place. The BBQ itself is awful. i mean truly it's bad. The staff is so nice that I want the food to be good but it's objectively terrible. I went twice thinking the first time was an "off" day. Nope. It was worse the second time. Sliced brisket sandwich on trip one & burnt ends on trip two. Both were among the worst I've ever had but the burnt ends were an actual abomination. The burnt ends had zero bark & i have a hard time believing they were ever in an actual smoker. I don't mind fatty BBQ if it's good, but these were fatty in a terrible way & actually tasted like propane. As if they were cooked in an oven. To even call them burnt ends is sacrilegious. As i mentioned the brisket wasn't much better. Zero hint of smoke, no bark, no flavor. It just tasted kind of like no very good roast beef. How this place is getting such good reviews is beyond me. I have no idea what kind of smoker or wood they are allegedly using, but when you park outside there is no hint of bbq smoke or smell. That's a bad sign. I actually hate giving negative reviews, but this gives KC BBQ a bad name. I'll give it one star for a friendly staff & environment

My husband and I ate there today and it was amazing!! We each had the 2 meat platter with fries(I got turkey and burnt ends),my husband got brisket and turkey. The meat was so tender and had great flavor. We will definitely be back!!

The front door is a little challenge to discern. There are two doors and the main one is not marked well. The restaurant is very clean. The staff is friendly. You can tell they care. The Bbq is "off the hook." I got the rib combo plate with two pork ribs, burnt ends and beans. The rib meat fell off the bone. The burnt ends were juicy, beefy goodness. It all could of had a little more smoke flavor. The two sauces were nice and flavorful. The beans are ok. I give the Bbq and the service 4 stars. The value is 3 stars. I paid around $30 for lunch and still left a little hungry. They should add one more rib bone and couple more pieces of burnt ends. I would go back. I am hesitant about spending that kind of money and still be hungry.

Really good food! Employees really nice. Pork sandwich really good and so are the sides! It's a chill atmosphere so perfect for lunch and also a quick dinner. Cheesy potatoes are so yummy!

Stopped in yesterday on opening day about 15 minutes after they opened their doors on their new brick and mortar location on N. Oak in Gladstone. The building is brand new with high visibility and has all new furnishings, a nice mural and photos, 9 stools at the bar, and about 15 tables with counter ordering and pick-up. Everyone was happy and welcoming and seemed ecstatic to finally get the doors open for paying customers. I love walking into a business and feeling that they are as excited to see me as I am to try the menu. They were on a limited menu while going through the soft opening. I chose the 4 ribs with a side of beans and ordered an extra side of fries also. The fries - nothing special. The Baked Beans were splendid - sweet, spicy and smoky. My 4 ribs had excellent flavor and were the poster child for "fall off the bone". I would have prefered a bit less tenderness and a bit more bark and grit but the flavor was exceptional and a lot of people prefer the "fall off the bone" approach when eating ribs - so in no means was it subpar, just not my most favored style of preparing. The plate came with bread, pickles and pickled onions. Two sauces at the table were excellent and on the sweet side, but I honestly couldn't tell the difference and they weren't labeled. I would give the ribs 4.5 stars and round up to 5 for the peripherals.

    Chopped brisket sandwich, onion rings
    Christy P.

The restaurant was slammed when we got here and we still had our food within 10 minutes. The staff was very attentive and friendly and the food was outstanding! We both had the chopped brisket sandwich, which was juicy and tender. My husband had the onion rings and they were perfectly dipped and fried. We can't wait to come back to try more!

What really stood out right away was the service. The lady taking our orders was incredibly nice and personable, and she actually took the time to walk us through the menu to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. I went with the #5, which is their version of a Sicilian Muffuletta. It was phenomenal. It's stacked with mortadella, salami, provolone, ham, and Swiss cheese, topped perfectly with a red wine vinaigrette chopped olive salad, all sitting on a beautifully toasted seeded loaf. One of my friends ordered the #20 Reuben, and it was a masterpiece. We're talking melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu corned beef, legit sauerkraut from Brooklyn, house-made Russian dressing, and melty Swiss, all piled high between two buttery, toasted slices of marble rye bread. Naturally, I also grabbed a couple of their homemade chocolate chip cookies, and we got a raspberry and blueberry tiramisu that was absolutely terrific. You just can't leave a place like this without hitting the dessert menu! I consider myself very lucky to have experienced this spot. We went for lunch and ordered the Italian beef sandwich and the Angry Capone pizza. Both were really good and we did not expect it to be this tasty. The Italian beef was cooked perfectly and was tender at every bite with the right amount of cheese and spicy peppers. The pizza was even better!! It had a nice crispy base and was full of good toppings like Italian beef, smashed meatballs, pepperoni, lots of cheese and spicy peppers. I love spicy food so I really enjoyed it. Everything was hot, cheesy, a little spicy and very flavorful. If I have to choose between the two , I would pick the pizza over the sandwich. Bay Boy is THAT Boy! I'm thrilled to have another location of Bay Boy in the Northland, which is…read moresuch an up and coming neighborhood. This Bay Boy is a small window located inside The Commons which is connected to Cinderblock Brewery but, don't be fooled by its small stature it still carries the full menu of the West Plaza location. The one thing it boasts is you can grab a brew from with The Commons bar or from Cinderblock while your sandwich is crafted. And don't fret because these sandwiches are well worth any wait they may take! What makes Bay Boy utterly unforgettable is the Dutch crunch bread. This unique crackly slightly crunchy but still, oh so pillowy soft bread is the perfect vessel to hold all the fillings of any of the sandwiches on the extensive menu. My number one recommendation sadly is not always on the menu but if you catch it you better order it! It is called The Blue Blaze and it consists of juicy white meat turkey, peppery arugula, melty mild white cheddar and locally sourced spicy blueberry jam. It's the perfect combination of sweet and savory with a kick. Another winner is the Wagyu Nebraskan if you want a bougie take on a Rueben. The Wagyu corned beef is locally sourced and is melt in your mouth paired with a slightly sweet kraut, nutty Swiss cheese and the tangy thousand island this sandwich is an elevated take on a classic. Another winner, well let's just face it any sandwich at Bay Boy is a winner winner chicken dinner (in the words of the iconic Guy Fieri), but let's focus on another rift of a classic sandwich the El Jefe. This is Bay Boy's take on a Cubano but unlike its predecessor the bread isn't flat or pressed it's on a Dutch crunch roll like every sandwich on the menu. The mojo pork is buttery and fatty- in a good way- making the meat so moist that combined with salty ham, melted Swiss and zingy briny pickles makes for a killer combination. Don't forget the mustard! And how Bay Boy makes it there own is with an addition of a zesty vibrant red pepper sauce. You can't help but to love El Jefe. I could go on and on about how each sandwich is unparalleled but, I'll just bore you with one more...The Bay Boy, I couldn't cover Bay Boy's without mentioning the sandwich that the restaurant was named after (or was it the other way around) anyways it doesn't matter. The Bay Boy is a cold sandwich (unlike the other ones I mentioned which are all toasty) which may sound simple but, the medley of flavors is paired down perfection. No pile of meats just stand alone Soppressata which shouldn't need any introduction because it's the superior salami. This sandwich gets sauced down with not one, not two but four sauces that make the sandwich anything but dry. Classic mayo and mustard are alongside a creamy pungent garlic sauce and a red pepper sauce, which is a mix of cherry and banana peppers. Then produce is added for freshness, think lettuce, tomato and zippy raw red onions (my personal favorite) with pickles of course! This truly is a sandwich masterpiece.

It's a walk-up window, super lowkey, but the food is not playing. I got a turkey sandwich with gouda and peppers, added blueberry jam, and grabbed a bag of chips on the side. The bread is really what sets it off. Crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle, and it actually holds everything together. The turkey and gouda were solid, peppers gave it a little bite, and that blueberry jam added just enough sweetness to balance everything out without being weird about it. I paused after the first bite because it caught me off guard in a good way. Finished the whole thing, chips and all. Simple setup, really good food, and I'll absolutely be back.
