Pizza galore!!
Dustin E.

This place was great! A friend recommended it a while back. I picked my wife up from the airport and we hit this place on the way home to Lee's Summit. Price-Rite is great!! I had an Italian sandwich grilled in the panini press and my wife got a Reuben. We actually ended up having have of each and shared. They were excellent!! We also picked up some Italian sausage from the deli case. I made past with it and some cherry tomatoes from our garden that night. It was amazing! They have groceries and wonderful fresh produce here too. I picked up some ham salad, a banana pepper that went in the pasta too, plus some Colorado peaches. Just a fine place! But there are no public restrooms. It was a long trip home.

Price rite is a go to spot for us for fresh produce, flowers, general groceries and some delicious home made meals. They have great pizza and many daily specials including sandwiches, tacos, etc etc. Today we tried the new fresh hot jumbo pretzels with cheese and OMG were they delicious! We'll be adding this yummy treat to our future hot and delicious orders. Definitely check this place out for lunch, dinner, Amish veggies, flowers etc. So many seasonal treats and always great service and prices. Hidden neighborhood gem fo sho!

Baby Back Ribs

We've loved everything we've tried at Price Rite--from pizza to chicken fried steak. Just had the baby back ribs for the first time and they were perfect--bare and easy to heat. $10 for a rack. Friendly staff, great daily specials, and now that it's warming up, the picnic area is a great lunch spot--especially if you're out on the Line Creek Trail!

What a neat little grocery / convenience store and restaurant. First, due to some major road construction it was a little difficult to get to. Can't get there from the south direction, have to approach from the north. However, one we got there it was worth the drive. We got a chicken parmesan sandwich and pork tenderloin sandwich. Both were huge and reasonably priced. They were both very good. People working there were very nice and friendly. This place is also a small grocery type store. Plus they have a lot of prepared foods you can buy ready to eat or take home with you. They also had pumpkins and some really neat gords for the holiday. Check it out.

Meatball Sub

If you're thinking about trying Price-Rite, don't wait any longer. I saw a couple pictures of the meatball sub here on Yelp & drove up on a Friday for lunch. Wow, this is a fun store & restaurant. The man and I noticed several large boxes of watermelons when we pulled up. As we walked closer to the storefront, we noticed more items for sale: peaches, tomatoes, onions, garlic, and other seasonal produce. Inside, we walked down the aisle closer to the deli case to read through the menu and place our order. Although we needed a little time, two individuals were available to help us when we were ready. I ordered the meatball sub, he chose the Italian steak sandwich, and we ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza to share. The sandwiches came with chips and we each grabbed a bottle of soda from the refrigerated section. We didn't see seating inside, but had remembered a couple of tables and seats connected to the outside of the building. Even in July, the overhang and a nice breeze was pleasant as we dined al fresco. I have a feeling we'll be back soon to purchase a watermelon & sample more of the delicious menu items.

Friday 2-topping special!!!

You have to be kidding me!! This for $12?? Everything is perfect! The crust; the sauce; the fresh ingredients. Everybody raves about this place on FB and I can see why! This was my first experience here but will NOT be my last! Mind you, this is the Wednesday and Friday special so I thought maybe I was going to get a 10 inch pizza. This is a whopping 16 inches and when it comes to inches usually more is best!

BLT it's so good!

This place is on a country road mixed in with houses. I came here with my daughter and grandson. We ordered a BLT sandwich which was the special of the day. It's seriously the best BLT I have ever had with more than 1/3 a pound of bacon on it. I probably should've only eaten half but I couldn't help myself. I've had their pizza before, which is excellent. They have a lot of food that's already made in case you don't want to cook. The people working here are very nice and friendly. Cute little place with flowers hanging outside to buy and fresh produce. I bought some strawberries, which were delicious. You need to go here because I'm sure you will find something you want.

Cheese Pizza

Soooooo... I really wanted to like Price-Rite. I really wanted to have an amazing sandwich. And the kids wanted some pizza. We wanted them delivered also. Ordered up some PR based on Yelp reviews and some local here-say because in the words of my friend "some people swear by this place, but I haven't been". So... delivery ordered for Cheese Pizza, Pastrami and Swiss Sandwich, and Turkey and Swiss Sandwich. And while we technically got those things brought to our friends house, it was VERY unsatisfying. Looking back at the receipt, we paid $50 all in (though technically the food itself was only $35) and also had - which I totally forgot about - Italian Wontons. Plus, we were drinking and hungry so the bar was quite low to begin with. But how can you just put two ingredients on some bread and call it a sandwich? Technically it is, I guess, but that's literally all that was happening. Turkey + Swiss cheese + two slices of bread. That's all. No sauce. No toppings. Nothing. Quite possibility one of the weirdest (plainest) sandwiches I've ever paid someone to make for me. The pizza was totally fine. Would I order or go anywhere out of my way to try PR again? No... not unless a friend of a friend or one of you all who have written one of these 5-star reviews somehow vouches for it again because I just don't understand.

Still loving this place even 8 years after my initial review! One of my favorite NYC style pizzas in the metro.

Best meatball subs I've ever had. Friendly service. Yet another NKC gem. No indoor seating. Can't wait to eat here again.

This place was so weird…read more The guy at the register seemed like, hungover or something, and it just... took him a while... I hope he wasn't having a mini stroke. The item I purchased rang up at a higher price than what it said on the shelf. Never a good sign. Everything was really expensive, except for a few things on sale - like, I managed to find a single-serve yogurt on sale for $2.50 instead of $4.59. They have some bulk herbs and teas, but the selection is very, very limited. They have a couple water dispensers in back which is nice, but there's no price listed anywhere. I really want this kind of place to survive..... but it's just so pricey; and then the service wasn't great either.

Staff here was overall helpful and friendly. Store was very clean and I did like the layout it also wasn't too busy at all but the aisles can't be a big claustrophobic. Recently they added on a wing around their deli, and it looks a little more suburban than the area but not a total eyesore. I often feel you can judge a grocery store by their produce quality, and here it's always pretty good if not a bit more expensive than other stores. They also have a nice bakery area, beer & wine, and all the candy my girls could ever want to find. Not a place I do my weekly shopping but absolutely fantastic for popping in for a quick thing here or there.

Back when I worked down the street from here, and lived nearby, I used to pop in here frequently for beer, wine, and to indulge in their great salad bar. I don't often find myself grocery shopping in this part of town any longer, but when I do I always notice that they still have a great selection of local items, including beer and wine. AND, they still rock a great salad bar. I popped in here most recently thinking I might try one of the waldo take and bake pizzas that I'd heard were rumoured to be available, and was a bit sad that I would have to get thin crust to get any meats on a 'za. Definitely not Cosentino's fault, but that would be an improvement as I'm not a waldo thin crust fan. At any rate, I think you'll find most of what you need here at a somewhat reasonable price. I'd put prices somewhere in between whole foods and price chopper. While you might pay a little more than going down the street to Price Chopper, you'll find a cleaner shop, and tons more local options, which I always enjoy. Now that I live a little bit further out I find visiting this grocery store to be a bit nostalgic, and I enjoy seeing what little treasures I can find if I find myself here.

Last time I went in there and stopped at the service desk to get a Powerball ticket. I stood in line behind a couple other people and waited for 10 minutes for someone to come over and man the service desk. The people in front of me never got waited on as far as I know. After 10 minutes I walked away because an employee still hadn't shown up to serve anyone. I then went to the deli counter to buy some crab salad. It was closed. I don't know why it closed early, but it did. I don't mean 5-10 minutes early. More like 2 hours early. I didn't go back to this store for months. I always drive by it to get to Hy-Vee even though it's about 4-5 miles up the road. Sun Fresh is so much closer to my home but I travel miles to get to Hy-Vee because service is non-existent at Sun Fresh. Well, silly me, but I stopped in Sun Fresh two days ago, once again to buy a lottery ticket and a couple of quick grocery items. As I'm walking up to the counter I don't see anyone other than a customer who is already at the service desk. I stand behind the other customer for a few minutes and it's like deja vu because there is nobody working the service desk. I try to make eye contact with employees who are working the checkout area but they are quick to divert their eyes to avoid me. I don't know if it's because they can't be bothered or because they are embarrassed that customers can never get service. Either way, it's not acceptable and I am done with this store. I understand that it's hard to find employees who are willing to work, but can't they at least say, "I'm sorry for your wait. Someone will be with you as quickly as they can" instead of avoiding eye contact with people who are waiting for assistance. If the business owners are so flush with cash that they don't need customers, they should board up and shut down. Another option would be for them to close the service desk. Discontinue selling cigarettes, Lottery tickets, and whatever else they have back there. I should also add that I was a loyal Sun Fresh customer for YEARS before they closed their location at Vivian and Antioch. I would say that this is the most scathing review I have ever written. When a business treats customers as an inconvenience (if you can even get their attention) it's time to walk away and find a place where your business is appreciated.
