Biscuits and gravy was okay. We will not get it again but others seem to like it. The veggie omelet was good. In the menu it says toast and potatoes were included for omelettes but the veggie one says it includes fruits. I didn't realize it replaced the potatoes. I would probably get it again. We did not get a kids menu and I saw another kid with it after we ordered. We would have ordered from the kids menu, especially since the orange juice was $4 and the kids meal included a drink. Instead we ordered egg, bacon, and cheese croissant sandwich. Bacon is cut up and mixed with the egg for the croissant sandwich. A very generous portion and probably enough for two people. Hubby and i went here for the first time yesterday to dine in. We got carryout several years ago and weren't impressed. Well, we were happy yesterday. The food was delicious, service was great, thanks Molly. It was nice and clean inside too. It was nice to see how helpful and friendly they were to their regulars and how helpful they were to each other. I had the tenderloin and fries, and a pancake. I almost always try the pancakes and either wings or tenderloin when ai try a new place. Hubby had biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon and potatoes. It was all delicious. Leftovers were just as good. What a long 1 hour and 15 minute drive to get here from Lenexa KS. But if the crowd is an indication of this restaurant serving great food, the long drive and 20 minute wait are worth it. First off, they are generous with their condiments: I ordered tea and they gave me a hot water carafe and a plate of 7 different tea bags and honey. Water is served in a pitcher. Jelly packs piled high on your table. Staff is very friendly. Leah was very patient with me trying to figure out whether I want salad, omelet, sandwich or ??? I first ordered the healthy start which is egg white omelet but she suggested the salmon sandwich which she claims is very fresh grilled salmon. You get 2 sides with the sandwich so I picked Cole slaw and fresh fruit. The salmon sandwich was really delicious: salmon was fresh, wonderfully seasoned and cooked to perfection. The sandwich was a brioche bun, laced with a great tasting spread/dressing, topped with mixed greens. The fresh fruit was good, just wish there was more of it, maybe in the same bigger sized dish as the cold slaw...?? Cole slaw was also fresh and the dressing was perfect. An expected experience came when I was told my bill was paid for by a local frequent patron. Thank you so much for your generosity. I ordered the Red Hot Mamacado scrambler. For $11 it was a very large portion. It came with Chorizo, onion, green chilies, avocado and a combination of Jack & Cheddar cheese. Topped with sour cream and served with salsa, potatoes and choice of toast on the side. I enjoyed every bit of this meal besides the chorizo ( and I love chorizo)! The fries could have been more crisp, but I imagine the kitchen was trying to rush orders as fast as possible. I also ordered the biscuits and gravy. The gravy had large chunks of sausage in it that I wished had been broken up more. The biscuits were kind of dry. The only downside was that it was quite loud. I enjoyed the corned beef hash Benedict. The sauce was the perfect tang you hope for with a Benedict. The English muffins weren't toasted enough to my liking & were a little soggy so I just mixed the potatoes in with the hash and eggs. My son had the carnitas burrito but felt like the meat wasn't seasoned enough and that there was too much spinach. My other son had the breakfast burrito and claimed it "was the best burrito of his life." Mom had the breakfast quesadilla and loved it. Huge portions all around! Don't skip the cinnamon rolls! I knew this place had to be good because every table was full, and there were people waiting in line at 10 am on a Thursday. Waitress Jenna was on it, and my food was served in about 5 minutes. Quickest service ever. I ordered the chicken fried chicken and eggs. Came with sausage gravy over the chicken, a fresh biscuit, and lots of potatoes! There was plenty of food, but I had to add a half order of biscuits and gravy. My eyes were way bigger than my stomach. Everything was cooked to perfection, and chicken fried chicken was absolutely awesome. My only complaint, and it's really not that big of a deal, is Jenna forgot to bring me my large OJ. I had to remind her. And maybe she could've warned me that I was ordering too much food, but that was really my fault. All in all, she did great. She was polite, the place was very clean, the service was quick, and the food was great. Should be 4.5 stars. Definitely recommend. read more

My girlfriend and I had lunch here today. I was shocked and feeling much better when I entered in the room was nearly all the way full at a quarter after noon. But if you're looking for a really good meal With some comfort food options, though there are many healthier options on the menu and you're looking for a really good deal I would give Kate's kitchen a try. My girlfriend had quesadillas, which were really good very flavorful and I had a Reuben sandwich with fries and coleslaw and it was very good. Sometimes you get Ruben sandwiches in the corn beef is very chewy. This was very tender meat and was amazing on how big the portions really were for how much the price was. My sandwich size was not quite $12 and it seemed like the meals were all right in the under $15 range. The staff was really friendly and helpful whenever they said that they would be right back. They were right back and taking care of our needs. I was really blown away for just picking a restaurant out of the hat basically to have lunch with my girlfriend and we had such a great experience at this location if you're looking for breakfast or lunch, I would definitely give Kate's kitchen a try. read more

Actually this place was pretty busy too but we walked right in because there were bigger parties there and mine was just a party of two. It's only a couple doors down from Danny's. This place is a breakfast and lunch place and when I saw they had eggs Benedict I was on board. It's my very favorite breakfast. We only waited a couple of minutes until the waitress came, and she was very nice. I got the traditional Benedict with Canadian bacon. It came out very fast. So good!! It was cooked perfectly. Still the best bang for your buck in the entire KC area! Inflation hit many places hard which resulted in prices skyrocketing while quality went down. That is NOT the case here. If the prices went up, I didn't notice. The portions are huge and the quality is as amazing as ever. They have such a vast selection of amazing meals and treats. But this was nothing special, it was pre-sliced sandwich bread sitting in a plastic sleeve just minutes before. The hot chocolate was brown water with enough sugar to put you in a diabetic coma. The "eggs" were dry and rubbery, the kind you associate with a hospital cafeteria. They tasted like those pre-scrambled "eggs" from a carton. The menu claims that they use a house-made batter for their pancakes (no mixes here!!!) I just didn't realize that when we ordered a pancake we'd get to taste that batter in the center of our half-cocked cake. The one perk, you will not be tempted to over eat. read more
