This has been on my list of places to try for quite some time, but it took me several months to finally visit. Boy to I wish I hadn't waited so long to bring these amazing biscuits into my life! I can't say enough about how amazing they are on their own. I tried the Cure (Soft scrambled eggs + american cheese +beef bacon jam + caramelized onions) and the Wonder (Fried chicken filet + fried egg + american cheese +beef bacon). I must say that I didn't really care for the bacon and onion jam on the Cure, so I don't think I would get that again, but the biscuit was still wonderful. As for the Wonder, it was AMAZING and I absolutely will be getting that again! The staff was super friendly and talked me into trying a "Troost Juice", which is essentially a lemonade. I specifically chose the strawberry flavor and I loved it. Not too sweet like many lemonades and they even have the option for a Spiked Troost Juice to add a bit the juice that you must be 21+ to drink into your beverage. I'll have to try that next time. It's a great little spot on Armour Road in North Kansas City that you could not notice driving by if you aren't paying attention. Scrambled eggs were barely cooked and not seasoned in fact they tasted like death. Sausage patties were terrible and were probably frozen. There were hella stains on the tables and counters. I am NEVER in NKC but my sister drove us up here to go to an antique store and when I realized we were right there I suggested checking this place out (I sampled them at the Yelp event at Rieger last year) and man am I glad I did. We shared The Cure sandwich and it was sooooo good. That onion jam....... dreamy!!! The biscuit was also top notch and the serving is huge. We ate maybe 1/2 of the tater tots which were also amazing! I've been wanting to try District Biskuits for the longest time. I was finally in the area on a recent Sunday morning that gave the perfect opportunity to stop by. I first noticed the outside seating. It was a little cold on our visit, but I did like the space and the option. The inside is nicely decorated. There's little sitting which is all stools along two walls of the frontside of the building. The menu is on a large tv screen and easily readable which is nice. And there's also self-service kiosk/touchscreen ordering available. I opted for ordering at the kiosk, so I cannot comment much on the service as I had little interaction. We ordered The Wonder with hash coin along with a side of mac and cheese bombs all to share. Firstly, the prices looked a bit high for a biscuit sandwich. However, they are huge! Our order with a sandwich and a side was perfect for two (unless you have a very big appetite). The fried chicken was the most succulent, juicy fried chicken that I've had in recent memory. The biscuit was perfectly flaky and soft. Both the hash coins and the mac and cheese bombs were great as well. I'll make a point to return next time I find myself in the area. read more

We Finally decided to try District Biskuits. Me my wife and daughter. They had the Wonder Sandwich and I had the Tender combo the biscuits were good but the fries and Chicken ! First the fries were cold meaning like they had been sitting there. No seasoning nothing very disappointing. Then the chicken had No flavor at all! Very disappointing and bland. Oh and I forgot about the Hashrounds wasn't fresh either. The biscuit was dense and spongy--not the fluffy, buttery layers you expect from a biscuit-focused spot. Baked Mac & Cheese: Overpowered by garlic salt. One-note and heavy-handed. Braised Green Beans: Way too much black pepper. No balance. Maybe it's better if you come early and stick to the breakfast menu, but this late lunch was a bust. Also worth noting--overpriced. The portion sizes and flavor don't justify the cost. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Parking was easy --spaces next to the building and a public parking lot very close by. My apologies as this review is a few weeks late, but I was there Christmas Day. My husband and I were visiting KC from CA and wow! First, thank you to everyone that was there and working on Christmas. Everyone we interacted with was very personable! The food is crazy good! Have ya'll thought about migrating West?! I want to say it was maybe the manager, who was taking orders, and dealt with a not so nice family that came in. They were very rude when you took their order and when they received their food. I had the best buttery biscuits at District Biskuits in North Kansas City. It was a bit of a drive from Overland Park, but totally worth it!!! The place is nice and clean inside, with a beautiful patio for outdoor seating. The staff were friendly and served the food on time. I ordered The Crown and Charlie's Hustle sandwiches, along with mac and cheese balls and they were delicious!!. The Crown had juicy, well-cooked patties with perfectly melted cheese. Charlie's Hustle had crispy fried chicken with a mix of Nashville spice and hot honey, all inside a soft, buttery bun. Every ingredient came together so well, making it an amazing sandwich. The sandwiches also came with crispy, coin-sized hashbrowns, which made them even better. The mac and cheese balls were good, but I think we wouldn't have missed much if we didn't order them. We have eaten at DB many times and the food was phenomenal, but now, there is a new piece of the culture, fried chicken. I got the Howlin' Hot chicken with Baked Mac& Cheese and Mac & Cheese Bombs. The Mac & Cheese Bombs were excellent. Golden and crispy on the outside and warm, gooey, and cheesy on the inside. The baked max & Cheese had that nicely browned cheesy crust on top and gooey cheesy mac and cheese underneath that. The chicken had a nice spicy kick and was juicy. The biscuits were huge and pillows as always and oh so good. Another new twist is you can "spike your Troost Juice". Four an additional $4, you can add a shot of o e of the 12 boozes they offer. Interesting experience. Started out frustrating. They have kiosks where you supposedly ca. order your food. Put my information in to pet the loyalty points in case we wanted to go back, filled out the order, got to the payment screen and couldn't pay. Gave up and got in the long line to order at the register. Not sure if someone called in or if they were short staffed but it probably took about 10-15 mins for the one girl to ring up the 6 people before us. Ordered, asked for cups of water and were charged $1.50 per bottle for 2 bottles of water without being informed. Started looking around. The restaurant was absolutely filthy. After all that I was to distracted to snap pics of the food. The food itself was actually pretty tasty and the biscuit sandwiches were gigantic so a fair amount of food for the price but with how dirty the restaurant itself was I am nervous we may end up getting sick from our lunch. This was my first time at District Biskuits and I definitely plan on returning. We shared the Wonder, one of their biscuit sandwiches as well as fried Mac and cheese balls and hash coins. The Wonder was huge and messy and I would get this again. The chicken is moist and crunchy and the bacon was crispy. From a 2017 Pop Up sensation to one of the most talked about places to eat in Kansas City! The Food - The chicken. The biscuit. So much flavor to love. For KCRW I opted for the sandwich and side with a drink. I choose The Charlie Hustle. A Nashville hot fried chicken with their in house hot honey butter. Sandwiched between one of the best biscuits I have ever had. As I type this I want another one. That's how good it was! The Drinks - The house made Lemonade was thirst quenching. I found this place by a pop up on my socials and thought the biscuits looked good but boy was I wrong the biscuits were AMAZING. The biscuit sandwich is not one to be toyed with its large and in charge of flavors. I got the wonder, which is a large piece of chicken fillet, egg, bacon and cheese on a super buttery, flaky biscuit. The combination of them was soooo good, it comes with tots that have seasoning. Kansas City finally has a great biscuit spot and it's called District Biskuits. One of the things I really missed about Seattle when I moved back home to KC were the great biscuit shops. I know what you're thinking, Seattle? great biscuits? yes - it's a thing, I promise! That being said, District Biskuits is, in my opinion, the first really great biscuit spot that serves that role here in KC. Located in trendy North Kansas City, it's a bit off the beaten path, but is 100% worth the drive. When you arrive, there isn't a massive parking lot, but I had no trouble finding a spot when I visited for lunch in mid spring. Walk inside and it feels very much like a renovated fast foot restaurant, which I assume it is. There is limited indoor seating, a few tables and good amount of barstools create a very casual ambiance. I will say though, there is a good amount of outdoor seating so if you come on a nice day that would be a great option. You order at the counter and then wait for them to call out your name. Now for the star of the show: the biscuit sandwich. I had their take on a fried chicken biscuit and all I can say is that I'm still thinking of this thing. The biscuit was flaky, buttery, wonderful. The chicken was fried to perfection, had amazing sauce, and was worth every bite. When I first unwrapped the sandwich I was amazed at how massive it was but rest assured, I did eat it all - despite my body saying to stop . This restaurant is hosting a pop-up menu called Howlin Fowls every Thursday through Sunday evening, and after seeing some mouth-watering photos on Instagram, I just had to give it a try. I ordered the Howlin Mac, and it was absolutely phenomenal--truly off the charts! The flavors were incredible, especially with their homemade hot honey sauce that perfectly complemented the mac and cheese for an unforgettable taste experience. My friends tried the Howlin Spicy Chicken Sandwich and were completely blown away by how juicy it was. The owner even came out to chat with us; he's a genuinely humble guy who's testing out his new creations, and I believe he could easily open his own restaurant with the talent he has. I highly recommend checking this place out-- the food is fantastic!
