Beef Skewere
Adam T.

Supporting local eateries and businesses is a big deal!! I'm not a big fan of food truck restaurants just because the service is slow and food isn't ever really amazing. But I came here since I was right down the street and to support local businesses. I got a steak skewer from Sidos and it was full of flavor!! The sourdough bagel blew my mind. I just wish they were organic, but I know you can pre-order Organic sourdough loafs from their website! Their sourdough starter IS organic too. I make it a point to avoid any chain restaurants at all costs. Great place for people watching, long conversations, and dates

I've seen this place before in passing and always thought it looked fun, and now I can confirm. There are a couple cute shops, but for me the main draw is the food. There's are around 7 different mini restaurants to choose from. There's a little something for everyone: Burgers, Mexican, Breakfast, Mediterranean, Asian. There was even a shop that was purely sourdough - bread, bagels, pretzels, a couple sandwiches, and what drew my attention, sourdough pizza. Unfortunately for me, today they hasn't prepped any pizzas. I took my broken heart over to the cargo cantina and ordered a carne asada burrito with chipotle salsa. The portion size was great and it's was delicious. And not to worry, if you need dessert, there's a container dedicated to ice cream. The only downside is the weather, seating is completely outdoors, so extreme weather would not be fun.

I wanted to try the iron district once again since there were some vendor changes and it was great. I tried the Cargo Cantina. The service was great and the server was very helpful. I chose the carne asada tacos. You get three to the order and I thought very flavorful. My friend ordered the mushroom burger and fries. Fries were great as well! Love the family environment. Entertainment for all. They also served adult beverages as well as Mediterranean, Asian and ice cream. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Trivia on Thursday and live music on Friday and Saturday! Cool place made out of containers.

I really enjoyed the concept of Iron District! The open restaurant layout with multiple vendors creates a fun, casual vibe that's perfect for exploring different food options. I had the breakfast smash burger from Iron Grille, and she got the chicken kabob bowl from Sido's. Both dishes were delicious and well-prepared. Prices were around $20 each with drinks, which felt a little high but worth it for the quality. One thing to note--it was a bit chilly when we went since it was windy, so I'd recommend visiting on a warm day to fully enjoy the outdoor experience. What I loved most is that it's pet-friendly! Being able to bring my pug along made the experience even better. Iron District is a great spot for food, drinks, and hanging out--especially with your furry friends.

This spot is pretty awesome. Multiple vendors for drinks, bites and shopping. Love the outdoor setting with yard games! Recap of what i loved: Mimosas Carne Asada tacos Blast Furnace burger Bacon flight

Awesome place to eat and hang out! The weather wasn't the best during my visit so probably not as busy and vibrant as it would be on a better day BUT I really enjoyed it. I love eclectic spots like this that be good if your group wants different things. Here for instance you can get Mediterranean, tacos, ice cream, sandwiches, drinks... I love Mediterranean and the shawarma sandwich from Sidos was DELICIOUS. I always love a sauce incorporated and this sauce really took it over the top. The fries were nice and seasoned. Try their baklava too! They were also playing yacht rock at the time which was sick.

Breakfast for Dinner: Crispy and fluffy waffle with a surprisingly nice crunch. The bacon flight was had a nice flavor, but the cut was very fatty with little meat, and not as crispy as we would've liked. The Sourdough Spot - Thick crust pizza that wasn't too greasy, yet loaded with pepperoni. Unique concept, but we couldn't really tell it was sourdough and was slightly pricey for what you get.

They have myltiple seating areas and many options for food, drinks, and desserts. Everything is outdoors so check the weather first. They did have drink specials if you order before 3pm.

Iron District is a great little outdoor destination. Each business is located inside a container and serve a car of things. There's a craft beer bar. There's a tiki bar. They have plants! There's clothes. There's jewelry. And plenty of restaurants from tacos to burgers to Thai to Indian fusion and even a sourdough bread spot. There's definitely something for everyone! They even have live music on certain days. There's plenty of spots to sit or stand and even big umbrellas to block the sun on warmer days. Definitely check them out if you're in the Northland.

This outdoor food hall is filled with eclectic food options for vegans, vegetarians and carnivores. They have a stage for live music. The evening I was here, there was a DJ who was spinning old school and current hits. Family friendly and or a great spot for small groups. Affordable prices. Beer and cocktails available at the bar. Bartenders Adam and Matt have mad shaker skills! Overall this a a must stop spot in the warmer months.

Every month I try to make it out to some unique spots in Kansas City, and Iron District made the list. This is such a nice addition to north KC. The vibes were on point - lots of comfortable seating and umbrellas to help shade in the sun. It looks like it was also dog friendly. There are containers that host small businesses from jewelry, to clothes, cocktails and dinner. There's also a bathroom in the back so you can stay and enjoy yourself. We happened to come on a trivia night which was a pleasant surprise. It seems like the owners of iron district try very hard to have fun events while providing an outdoor space to hangout. And the best part is hands down the cocktails and food and pleasant people manning their businesses. I tried a couple of cocktails from the tiki place - a bit pricey but they don't shy away from creativity and alcohol content. The star of the show for me was absolutely Loas House. I tried their burrito and my God, it was top notch. It's made with chicken thighs that are so tender and marinated I thought I was eating pork. Tons of sauce and fries to round out the experience. Totally blew my expectations and I had enough to eat on for two more meals.

Iron District is a refreshing addition to North Kansas City's dining and shopping scene. This open-air destination stands out with its colorful, repurposed shipping containers housing a variety of local startups. The spacious outdoor food court creates a lively atmosphere perfect for families and friends to gather. What sets Iron District apart is its commitment to fostering local entrepreneurship. The founders clearly understand the challenges of starting a business and have created a supportive environment for budding entrepreneurs to test their concepts and grow. This approach not only benefits the startups but also contributes to the overall development of North Kansas City. Visitors can enjoy a diverse range of food options, drinks, and unique shopping experiences, all while supporting local businesses. The vibrant, community-focused atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for those looking to eat, drink, shop, and connect with others. If you haven't experienced the Iron District, you are missing out. Always something new. If you say to yourself, "I'll try that next time , you may miss the opportunity. IRON DISTRICT is a unique concept, like the Parlor in Downtown Kansas City MO. NOT KANSAS! Where the vendors change regularly. The food is amazing. This trip, I tried the Cargo Cantina, I had the taco trio. (Street Tacos). First off, generous portions. Super flavor. And awesome service. Like if you were at your grandma's. The weekends there is usually entertainment. There is a Bar . Parking is a challenge, but if you don't mind a very short walk, it's no issue. There is also other shops that sell jewelry and handmade clothing. I highly suggest taking a break from the normal and enjoy the food and outdoor patio with ample seating. You will not be disappointed. Overall, Iron District appears to be a welcome addition to the area, blending creative urban design with a mission to boost local economic growth.

Stopped by The Iron District after J. Rieger's. Another Cool, fun outdoor bar and food vendors. It was packed in the lower(Main)area, our group found a couple tables up top on the patio/rooftop area. There are a few different Bar sections to order drinks and food vendors. We did not eat since we had so many appetizers. It was hot out but once the sun went down and it cleared out a bit it was nice. There was an area in the back that had corn hole and other games to play. I would like to go back and try the food.

We ordered from Streats and Don Felipe's. And we ordered there, from the kiosk, but lots of people were placing online orders or door dash and then coming to pick up. I got the Birria Ramen (life-changingly good) and my friend got the steak quesadilla. Together they formed the ultimate shared meal. I will be back for more of that! What I loved most about this place was the simplicity of the concept. It's not a huge space but there are over 15 restaurants! And while some have other locations in town, most seemed new! The only downside was some of the Doordashers didn't seem to understand the pickup system... you just scan the order on your phone and it finds the order in the system. Simple, but not intuitive. Luckily there was a window if you're really lost and everyone was super friendly.

I stopped in at 11am and ordered lunch inside on the kiosk to take to work with me. There were quite a few kitchens that were closed at the time, but I still had the option of over 10 businesses to choose from. My first selection was "not available" when I tried to submit my order, so plan B was some chicken wings from Mr. Wingz. After ordering you can go back to your car and wait for a text or sit on a bench or stool in the tiny claustrophobic waiting area that resembles a tiny bus station lobby. After a 12 minute wait my name popped up on a screen and a lady behind the counter called out my name and I was on my way. There are lockers that are used for Grub-Hub style pick-up's. Although I was not impressed with my food, the concept is certainly unique and for better or worse, what the future holds. Ralphie predicts that these multi-tenant ghost kitchens will be popping up everywhere soon. Myself; I prefer Parlor a few blocks over for variety and a fun Dine-In experience.

We take our kids to crown center multiple times a year (ice skating, restaurants, coterie theatre…read moreare all wonderful). The parking system up to now has been easy to navigate and validate at any shop. The new "frictionless" parking system is an obnoxious data grab, irritating to set up (I do not want to make an account for every place I park), and impossible for people who choose not to have a smartphone on them at all times (me). :) I'm sure it cost a lot to implement, but every person I've talked to has also found it frustrating. There's indoor parking, street car stop and Union station (minutes away) for guests. Throughout the day, lots of tourists, including families with kids visit this center. The restaurants have varieties like bbq, pizza and sandwiches. Sheridan's frozen custard is a really popular ice cream store. It is also connected to Westin hotel via passageway. I did struggle a bit the signs and directions. There were not clear in some corners. Security personnel are available throughout the plaza, we took some direction help from them. But overall it's a prime spot in KC.
