    Bombay-Mi
    Pax S.

I had the absolute best service in Kansas City from Chloe. She was so hospitable that I didn't even make it to the second floor. This place is exactly what it should be -- and there should be a lot more of them. The full bar (including my favorite, Fernet Branca) was centrally located and was relatively comfortable. I stayed at a nearby hotel for a work conference and walked about a mile to get here and I'm so glad I did. The food at Elephant Wings was absolutely insane. I got the Bombay-Mi with curry fries and WOW, absolutely worth the price. The guy working the shop is oh so friendly and I just couldn't help but give him a shoutout. Chloe told me about some nearby places to check out and I was able to. Thank god for this recommendation from my Austin Uber driver!

Parlor is a great place to hang out with friends. There are several food options so no one has to decide where everyone will eat. There were plenty of seating for the 16 of us when we got there on a Saturday. They also had a full bar which had a good cocktail assortment. The tikka masala poutine was my favorite, but I only got to try two places. I will come hungrier next time.

Parlor is an indoor food court with restaurants that change from time to time and with two bar areas. I've frequented Parlor several times over the years and it's a great place to grab food especially if you're in a group and everyone has different tastes. It's also a good spot to grab a drink. They have lots of seating including an enclosed outdoor area. If you're having a party they do have a downstairs area that can be reserved in addition to areas within Parlor. They will also sometimes have live music so check their socials to stay up to date. The restaurants within Parlor rotate but the one OG and probably my favorite is Mother Clucker. You can order online from any of the restaurants or use the kiosks set up at each one if someone isn't available to take your order. There are two bar areas, one upstairs and one downstairs. They do tend to get busy quickly but the service has always been pretty fast. I like trying all the cocktails. The old fashioned is one of my favorites.

Such a fun spot. Plenty of options for seating - bar area, patio, food area, couches, high tops. You can reserve areas, too. The staff are all nice and efficient. We had Mother Cluckers chicken and the fries are delicious paired with the cluck sauce.

Rotten to the Core draft cocktail

This place is amazing! It's right near the Crossroads so you're surrounded by bustling nightlife, and the vibe inside is cozy and welcoming. I got one of their draft cocktails called Rotten to the Core, and it was so smooth and light - pleasantly surprising. A few members of the group I was with noted that they were able to tell the bartender the kinds of drinks they enjoyed, and just from that they created a killer custom cocktail for them. You can't go wrong with any of the food options, from hot chicken at Mother Cluckers to empanadas, but I ended up going with Tikka Masala Poutine from Elephant Wings - it was incredibly well seasoned with the perfect amount of spice. I also recommend getting some naan to go with it! It soaks up your alcohol intake beautifully! LOL

Super neat place to eat and hang out with a good variety of vendors! It was insanely crowded on a Friday night. We were recommended this place by a couple walking downtown KC. It's a little out of the heart of the city but wasn't longer than a fifteen minute walk. I got the Mother Clucker Comeback Sandwich with Cluck Sauce and a side of fries. The chicken was cooked perfectly! The cluck sauce was heavy on the sandwich so it took a little flavor of the chicken away but nonetheless, the chicken was juicy and crispy at the same time. The fries were seasoned very well and delicious too. I also got an empanada from Una Mas. It was delicious too! The chimichurri sauce was spectacular! The man behind the counter was so sweet and offered me a pastry since I only got one empanada. Beautiful views, vibes, and food at the Parlor!

First time visiting Parlor after hearing several recommendations over the years and it did not disappoint. This is such a cool place. I made the mistake of visiting for dinner/drinks on a Saturday evening, and it was beyond busy/crowded. I would love to come back during a weekday and have a quieter experience! Tons of places to eat and all of the restaurants looked incredible. I love that each place has a limited menu, which makes it so much easier to pick something to order. I will say that most of the menu items across the different restaurants are pretty pricey, especially for food-truck-type meals. Most menu items are $15-$20. I decided to order at Deez Nachos and it was absolutely delicious. I ordered their totchos (nachos with a tater tot base) and it was SO good. They were $17 total and very filling. Overall, a really neat concept of a boujee mall food-court vibe. Great experience!

Interesting cookies have a little kick to them.

Trying out this place for lunch. Tried elephant wings Indian food. I got the shrimp sandwich, the bread is nice and light. The flavors hit hard with this meal.

Ladybird Taqueria - birria beef taco, chicken taco, street corn

Fast service and Amazing food from Ladybird Taqueria! The birria taco was one of the best I've had in my life. Soooo good. Wish I were visiting KC longer so I could come here again!

A lot of options make for a lot of great smells walking in the door. You can tell this place is popular but it's wearing well; the table dressings are still present, the furniture is in good shape, and the bar is well-stocked. One of the restaurants had a "closed" sign on the front but still let us place an order online, which was a little confusing. The drinks made at the Parlor Bar were tasty and well-made, with a number of ingredients I'd never had before. They have the luckiest bartenders because the espresso martinis are on tap. Very, very, very white, upper class diners

I loved this place! I was able to order my favorite KC pizza at Johnny Jo's, my sons were able to get Mother Clucker! And LOVED their food. Great concept, spacious layout and great atmosphere to watch the Chiefs play. Next time I will try some of the other dining options, I WILL be back!

That changed yesterday, when Diana Condori, the bar manager, was named a 2026 James Beard Outstanding Professional in Cocktail Service semifinalist. As we love supporting restaurants and bars that receive that kind of recognition, my wife and I headed to Fern Bar that evening. I was especially curious what exactly a "sugarcane and agave bar" meant. We arrived around 5:30pm and found only a handful of guests inside. After congratulating the bartender who first served us, he mentioned that Diana was working that night and would stop by to meet us. During our conversation, Diana shared that she didn't even know she had been nominated. She woke up Tuesday to a call from owner Bryan Arri, who said he had big news and was coming over. Her first thought was that something terrible had happened--like the bar had burned down. Instead, he showed up with coffee and told her she was a James Beard honoree. Diana is originally from Bolivia and has lived in Kansas City most of her life, with the exception of time spent in San Francisco during the pandemic. She further refined her cocktail craft through local pop-ups in Kansas City under the name Condor's Cove. When Bryan was preparing to open Fern Bar, he reached out to bring her onto the team. The printed cocktail menu immediately reminded me of the Monarch and the Mercury Room--not surprising given Bryan's background at Manifesto and the Monarch. Thoughtful, intentional, and clearly designed for people who appreciate serious cocktails. We planned on having one or two drinks but ended up staying for three, thanks to an outstanding lineup and a memorable conversation with Diana. We tasted: * No Fly Zone - Rum, agave, pineapple foam * Mr. Collage - Smooth, elegant, egg-white cocktail * Three Negroni Lunch - Bitter, boozy, and beautifully balanced * Pendergast No. 4 - Complex and spirit-driven * It's Bananas - Banana liqueur with bright tropical notes * Off the Rails - Creative and well-executed rum/agave cocktail One downside of many cocktail-forward bars is the lack of food, but Fern Bar offers two varieties of mini burritos for $4--just enough protein to keep things balanced while indulging. Great concept, exceptional service, and truly memorable drinks. Check it out--and be sure to say hello to Diana.

Our absolute favorites were the wagyu nagiri (melt-in-your-mouth incredible) and the oysters with caviar. The wagyu sliders were also a hit.
