Mear Market

Like this Hen House on 87th. Their poultry comes from local sources. Their meat personnel are knowledgeable and always quick to serve. I also like their choices of plant-based milks and great selection of eggs from local sources as well. Left off one star due to their limited selection of organic fruits and vegetables.

The Hen House is a great grocery store.. Very clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. I'm not a local. I'm from Mississippi. it's good to know that we are the only ones that can show great hospitality ..

I have to say this is the best grocery store in lenexa, they have a salad bar, a deli, they have a sushi section, a Poke bowl and feezing moo combined and last but not least, my holy grail during the winter and the only reason I am willing to grocery shop and not postmate my groceries. they have a Starbucks !! the staff here are all very nice, they have people cutting fresh fruit behind a little bar area they can make you fresh orange juice if you would like and they can also brew you tea (which I would like to add they have a pretty good and large variety to choose from) although it is little more pricey than a lot of the grocery stores I've been too I think that you really do get what you pay for. especially when they keep the grocery store very presentable and stocked at all times. oh goodness I almost forgot but they also have a really cute floral department. they have the nicest older lady working it and personally I love keeping flowers around the house and she is always more then happy to hand me the freshest flowers. I myself am not vegan but a lot of my family members are and I appreciate that they have a large variety of vegan and organic options, so I don't have to go out my way to find any other grocery store to find what I need.

I come here just for the salad bar- it's that good. Of all the grocery stores and health food stores in KC, Hen House by far has the most superior salad bar. It is always stocked, has a bountiful variety of vegetables, is clean and the vegetables are fresh. The grocery store as a whole is a step above the rest, which means you're going to pay a little more. If you're a thrifty person, this is no Aldi's, though there can be some decent savings from time to time. The quality here is reliable and appreciated.

I ran in to look at flowers and plants, but from what I could see, the store was very clean and stocked. The florist didn't ask if I needed help as she was busy behind the counter making floral arrangements. The flowers were fresh and pretty. I haven't been to a Hen House where the store was in sorts.

I love all Hen House locations. They can be more expensive than other stores but if you shop ads you will be just fine. I like that they have everything there; Starbucks, a bakery, postage stamps and a great floral department. The store is always clean as well and a good spot to drink coffee and work although Wifi can be spotty. This review is particularly for the floral services. They are so creative and accommodating. We are not typical flower fans but they will use ornamental items such as kale. They can create anything you come up with and for a fair price. All dance corsages are $24.99, competitively priced and boutonnières are $14.99. Friendly and fast service. I put my request in for a Saturday on the Wednesday before.

It has a decent selection of items but they have a loyalty card so unless you have one you can not get the best prices. The seafood section has the sounds of seagulls playing all the time. Having to listen to that while shopping can be a bit annoying. The building seems to block most all wireless signals from the outside and while it has free WiFi its slow and not woth using. Overall its a good store if you dont mind the loyalty card pricing

We have frequented Hen House as our primary grocery store since moving to the KC area more than 10 years ago. It just always seems cleaner than other stores, and while you sometimes pay slightly higher prices than others, you tend to make up for it with their loyalty discounts. First impressions are lasting impressions, and Hen House won us over years ago. There are certain items that they don't carry that we have to visit other chains to get, but overall, we have been very satisfied.

During the COVID-19 outbreak, this store did not have wipes or sanitizer for carts. Enter at your own peril.

I randomly visited the Lenexa Sprouts location for the first time since it opened. I used to live…read moreright behind this lot before the store was built, and what an upgrade! I wish it was around when I was living in the area. I would definitely be a regular customer! I visited on a quiet Tuesday afternoon, and the store was organized, neat, and easy to navigate, which was a lovely start. I had two main items on my mission: grabbing the Back to Nature Peanut Butter Creme Crackers (a snack I became obsessed with after a trip to New York!) and picking up a specific protein powder for my mom, which was on a great Buy One, Get One 50% Off deal. However, the real highlight was the service, thanks to Dahlia, a head cashier employee who stopped to help us. Dahlia was incredibly kind and went above and beyond. She walked us through the free rewards program, explaining not only how to find coupons but also detailing a huge deal: if you buy $100 or more in health & beauty products (including that protein powder!) within a three-month span, you will be able to get 30% off your next purchase. She explained that the purchases history for this deal resets after the three months are up. She even took the time to offer personalized recommendations, sharing her own experience with thinning and oily hair and suggesting specific shampoo and conditioner products for me to try. After Dahlia helped me with the rewards sign-up, I checked out with a different cashier. This cashier was also super nice; she knew I was setting up the account and proactively made sure I either entered my phone number or had my rewards barcode scanned before I paid, guaranteeing I got my points for that trip. The service didn't end there! I had a $3 off coupon for the protein powder that wouldn't go through due to the store's poor cell service/Wi-Fi connection. Dahlia, without hesitation, simply gave me $3 back in cash to honor the coupon deal--that is truly above and beyond customer service. I highly recommend this location! The product selection is great, and the atmosphere is pleasant, but the staff--especially Dahlia--is what makes this store shine.

I have been trying to figure out which grocery store had those fruit shaped cakes. I walked into World Fresh Market. The front of the produce reminded me of City Market. Beyond the produce, not a regular store. This grocery store has the prettiest cakes I've ever seen. There's flan larger than a regular cake. There's bags of iced cookies. Breads of all types. Oh, they also have tacos plus a Mexican restaurant attached. The bakery winds around to the middle of the store. Those fruit shaped cakes? Right there. So cute and looking yummy. I can't say enough about the bakery. I bought little fruit shaped watermelon fruit cakes. I also bought pistachio filled croissants. This is absolutely my favorite store. I'll be back cause I'm in this area often. But seriously, stop by the bakery and get a mousse cake if you want to be the favorite at a potluck.

This review is based solely off of their sushi section…read more I have been going to this hen house since I was in highschool (over 10+ years) solely for this women's sushi. Every Wednesday they run a special for 5.55 rolls. Back a couple of years ago, the cashier there told me the lady who makes their sushi has been doing so for years - even turning down opportunities to start her own restaurant. She's super friendly and very accommodating to requests. The sushi rice is perfectly cooked and the flavor is always on point for me. Extremely consistent as well and I believe on par with other sushi restaurants. For a little over 5 bucks, I'm always satisfied.

I wound up here hunting for Keto friendly meal bars. The price for the good ones is $3 higher than our grocery near home, which...you know...hard to swallow so to speak. So, failing in my hunting, I wandered over to the salad bar, and decided to make a lunch and take it back with me to the office. After finding enough fresh yummy goodies to fill a plastic box, I was expecting a tasty but pricy weigh-in at the counter. (They weigh the salad, not the shopper, in case you were worried). "Do you have a Hen House Card?" "Sure do, although It's probably from years ago... well ok, that worked..." "The salad bar is still on sale, so here you go." Boom. I got out of there for $6 for a similar salad I put together at JCCC for $9 the other day. With the money saved, I could get those keto bars! Except no. I'll really get them next time we do our shopping for home. But still! What a deal! I'm happy. I'm full. I have change in my pocket. There were next to no carbs in my salad choices, so I bet I can eat an entire cookie cake when I get home! Except not, but I can dream a little. Maybe if the cookie cake is $3 off and they forgot to put in the sugar...and the flour...and anything that's good and tasty.... What was I talking about? Like the salad bar! Good and tasty and affordable!
