I went in there looking for gum past. Gum paste is what they make inedible flowers on cakes, that look like porcelain. I also wanted some fondant. I had no idea how to use either one, and the clerk (owner, I suppose), told me how to use each one, and what I should buy. She didn't try to sell her products which are superior to those I bought at Jo Ann's. She persuaded me to use what I had. (It uses up fast). I told her my skill level, and she had exactly what I needed. She gave me her time, and I appreciate that. This shop is fun. It has good quality, EVERYTHING, Merkens chocolate (for candy making, and cake pops), canvas piping bags, tips, cake boxes, stands, all the wedding cake paraphernalia you'd ever care to see, and birthday cakes, and at this time, graduation cakes. One thing she has that others don't, is disposable cake decorating bags by the bulk, in boxes of 100, which is very useful. She has every pan you can think of. And her meringue powder (for stiffening icing) is the best on the market. I had only seen this on line, and I was surprised when I saw it in her store. She also took an interest in the sugar lace technique I am about to learn, and asked me to return when I got it in the mail. Staying true to my word, I will. I'm staring at the gum paste I bought from her store, and the book, thinking it's too late in the day to make it, so I'll be busy tomorrow. I entered the store NOT knowing exactly how to use it. I left knowing I want to use it. It is right next to Jerry's Bait Shop in cute little Old Town Lenexa.

I've used these guys a few times but there is no urgency in getting a project done or in any…read morecommunication for that matter. The people are nice. But their brand promise "Signs by Tomorrow" is an outrageous falsehood. The soonest they could get to my simple window decal was next month. Okay fine you have a schedule to keep so I offered double the money to expedite my project to be finished within a week. I was denied due to " how we choose to run our business". Again, your business is called Signs by Tomorrow. If you are that busy you should hire more people to keep your brand promise. Or at least keep something remotely close to it. The last thing I would have expected is zero flexibility to get my project done within a month. Edit: They referred me to another sign shop that was happy to take my business with an expedited rate charge of 25% that Signs by Tomorrow is now calling a bribe and "back door treatment" while implying that I must do "back door deals" in my business (whatever they think that means). Why would they refer me to a business that offered me this exact service if they thought that was not a best business practice? Expedited rate charges are a common business practice offered by every other sign company I have called since cancelling with Signs by Tomorrow. For a business called "Signs by Tomorrow" they are going through a lot just to keep from providing a service within a reasonable turn around time. If they actually valued their clients as they mentioned they would hire more people to enable their clients to be served in a timely manner instead of making them wait a month for service. Edit: Since they have chosen to be rude, sarcastic, and unprofessional towards me since I posted my review I will comment once further. If they posted an ad saying they will give clients "signs by tomorrow" while taking a month to produce signs; that would be false advertisement and they would be prosecuted by the district attorney under the consumer protection act. Since they a have a loophole to exploit in that their trademarked business name is "Signs by Tomorrow", they are abusing the implication of that promise to lure clients under the false pretense of quick service just to be denied and abused if those prospective clients are not happy about it.

In the meantime, our cast iron bar stools swiveled into the edge of the bar, causing chips in the main Formica countertop. It finally felt like the right time to make the change. Edan at Midwest Marble and Granite helped me select attractive elements like the sink, faucet, quartz material, and backsplash ceramic tile. Because of her experience as an interior decorator, I really valued her insights. On installation day, I was truly impressed by Jake, Carlos, and the team. They worked tirelessly to remove the old countertops and backsplash and to ensure the heavy new countertops were perfectly aligned and level. I had no idea how physically demanding this work could be. The next day, during backsplash installation, the same praise goes to Patrick, Frank, Eddie, and Austin. They spent hours bending over the counters, meticulously cutting, placing, and grouting ceramic tiles on four walls. That has to be backbreaking, especially for someone as tall as Frank! Midwest Marble and Granite transformed my kitchen with high-quality materials that were expertly installed in a timely and friendly manner. What more could I want?
