I always love this place. Me and my roommate come here all the time. They have different sugar levels, many different flavors, and some sweet treats as well. They have games that you can play and a lot of decorations. I'm only giving it a 4/5 stars because they took off the ube off the menu which was one of my favorite drinks. My husband and I stopped in to try out this tea and coffee shop for the first time. We were greeted immediately and the service was good. The menu is extensive and a little bit confusing so they were patient with explaining the various options. The space is generally clean, but a little bit cluttered towards the area where you can get napkins and straws. They had a nice playlist and it was relaxing atmosphere. It's a very colorful place with a photo op chair. I had an iced coffee with brown sugar and a type of cold foam on the top. I was very surprised that it was very good! My husband had one of their teas, which was black tea with passionfruit and mango with a strawberry jelly addition. He said his was generally good. read more

Been a while since I've updated my review and how it's been since then. Recently went here and heard they changed owners, but their drinks are still good, the same, perhaps a bit more than before. It's a bit chaotic to read the menu, because they have a lot of signs and a lot more stuff/decors in the store now. Hard to keep up and read everything, we just order from the top ten menu. Three years later, and I'm officially updating my review. It's with a heavy heart that I'm changing my 5-star review to a 2-star review. Quality control has just not been looking good at this Ding Tea location. Their milk teas have been tasting more like watered down milk than ever, and it seems whoever's brewing the tea out back is taking some serious shortcuts. Not to mention the lack of continuity when it comes to the sugar levels between their drinks. I just can't justify the near $5/drink I'm spending if I'm getting a cup of watery tea and milk. read more

Came here in the evening, but the wait was so long and they didn't even tell us. They didn't tell people the wait time until by the time we left, when they started telling people it was at least a 45 minute wait... We waited 25 minutes for a simple Thai tea and Hokkaido milk tea, no boba. No receipt was offered, one worker dropped a cup on the floor and later reused it, the milk tea barely had taste, and the Thai tea wasn't strong and colored more brown than orange. I don't assume they're always so packed and understaffed, but it's hard to want to come back when the drinks don't turn out right either. read more

Yum! My daughter was craving boba so we headed to Ding Tea this afternoon. She got their signature milk tea and she liked it. She said the flavor of the boba pearls are the best she's had in Kansas. My husband got the Ube coffee and he loved it. I bought the brown sugar for my cousin and the Thai tea for myself. All flavors were delicious. Yes, they were were sweet but we were aware of that when we ordered. The service was better than what the reviews say. The staff was okay but not the friendliest. If you like Instagramable places then you'll love the swing they have inside. I'm giving it 4 stars because it didn't look the cleanest. I was in the mood for some boba and came across this location and I'm very glad I did. They have a large menu to choose from with a good selection of toppings. I ordered the Brown Sugar Pearl Latte with 50% sugar and boba. I'm not the biggest lover of sweets, but I'm glad they have the option to choose how sweet you want the drink to be. The drink tasted amazing. The creaminess mixed with the cold and boba made the drink exceptional. It had a good amount of sweetness, but the next time I go I'll definitely be adding more sweetness to it! Overall I had a wonderful experience here. I ordered brown sugar boba- assuming there would be the classic brown sugar lining the cup I received what tasted like normal milk tea but watered down. There was tons of ice. Was searching for a treat while in the Lenexa area. Found Ding Tea a mile away from my dinner location and started getting intrigued by the yummy Yelp pictures. Had high hopes but from the moment I walked in, that slowly disappeared. To start, the place was quite unkept and overall dirty. Tables were sticky and beat up. The walls had patch marks and damage. The employees work station was dirty with just a massive cup of boba in a random cup...just sitting next to the cashier. It was really strange. I did not even included the crates of tea in the seating area and empty bags of chipotle just sitting there. As far as the drinks, I ordered a milk tea with mini boba and my wife got passion fruit tea with normal boba. My 3 star decision is primarily due to the gummy quality of the boba that tells me it's way over cooked. No shape or form. The tea itself was pretty good but considering the dirt and quality of boba. I think a 3 out of 5 represents what you should expect from here. Would I come back.....no, but I can see why people might like it. read more

Lots of great drink flavors and customization options. They also have great options for those of us who avoid dairy products. Most other boba tea places will say they use "lactose-free" milk, but that's not the same as being dairy-free. Ding Tea gives you the option of almond, oat, and soy (I think). I came to their soft opening with a friend and ordered their signature milk tea along with the Hokkaido caramel black milk tea with boba. Checkout while ordering drinks was smooth and they even came over to drop our drinks at our table since we were sitting and talking. I really enjoyed both drinks. My friend said it was sweet and I do agree they are a little sweeter, but I have a sweet tooth and enjoyed it. The tea flavor was also balanced and not watered down. The gold boba is also smaller than normal boba I've had which I like because it doesn't overpower the drink and is more chewy. The interior looks like it might need a little more work along with the sound system. The music would randomly increase in volume. I am sure this will get fixed quickly. I heard about the soft opening on July 13, 2019 on Instagram with a promo deal going on for buy one and get one half off. So, I decided to check it out. The location is off 95th St and 35 highway before Quivira Rd. near the Oak Park Mall. There is an Applebee's, Panda Express and Chipotle by it. The decor inside is very modern-looking with lots of small cactus plants on the tables. They have a big selection of board/card games. The layout is similar to GoCha where there are tables right when you walk in and the bar/check-out stand is on the right corner and the restrooms are on the far left side of the cafe. The table selections are interesting with 2 booth tables and a big bird cage chair, but it looks cool. They also have a big graffiti wall on the right from walking into the cafe to show the fresh fruit ingredients they use in their drinks. The first visit, I got the Strawberry Milk Tea with Star-Fruit Jelly and 70% sweet level. The flavor of the drink was good, but it was way too sweet for me at 70% especially with the jelly. I decided to go with a less sweetness level the next time I go there. The second time, I got the Wintermelon Green Milk Tea with Golden boba and 50% sweetness level. It was still too sweet with the drink flavor. I got the chance to try my friend's and sister's drinks. They got the Taro Milk Tea and Grapefruit Tea at 30% and it tasted like watered-down taro powder with no ice and super sweet Grapefruit juice. It was not the best. We asked them to fix it and they were nice about it and remade it for us. Next time, I plan to get 30% sweetness on certain drinks. Overall, they are still new and I plan to go there occasionally from time to time to see how well they improve on their drinks, especially the sweetness level. If you want to try someplace new and feeling adventurous with different tea flavors, I'd say this is a good place to check out. Just be cautious they are new and still improving. read more

BLUF: What the fork is going on here? I thought I was on an episode of "Punk'd - The Corona Edition." Where. Do. I. Begin. First, this place flagrantly and intentionally disobeyed mask mandates in the mist of a deadly pandemic (you may have heard about this). A group of women (hereinafter "anti-maskers") entered the store after us - one person wore her mask improperly (under her chin) and the other HAD NO MASK WHATSOEVER (as pictured but w/ censors to protect their identities). Unless this irresponsible person received an INVISIBLE MASK for Christmas, she is clearly on the naughty list. Second, the store employees not only failed to address the situation but in fact engaged in friendly conversation w/ the anti-maskers. It was clear that one specific employee knew the ladies as they all spoke Vietnamese to each other (I also speak Viet). Despite exchanging  pleasantries, the employee made no demands, requests, or even suggestions for mask wearing during their lengthy discourse. Clearly, Ding Tea either acquiescence or straight up condones anti-maskers.   Third, despite having upwards of 6 employees behind the counter, our 4-drink order took an astonishing 20-ish minutes. Not only that, the aforementioned ladies (who have no respect for health and safety) received their drinks BEFORE us despite ordering AFTER us. So it would appear that Ding Tea actually rewards anti-maskers by expediting their orders over individuals who are law abiding patrons. Cool - this seems like an ethical and sound business practice to me. Finally, with respect to our actual order, their drinks are almost as messed up as their care for health and safety. Only one of our drinks was made properly. They disregarded an entire drink altogether, one drink had full sweetness despite us asking for reduced sweetness, and the other drink lacked the toppings that came w/ the drink. I guess getting 1 correct out of 4 isn't bad, right? In short, if you are willing to risk your life and safety for less than mediocre bubble tea (and have anti-maskers prioritized over you), this is your place! I def got Punk'd except w/o Ashton Kutcher popping out at the end to give me a bear hug. Instead, I was just embraced by irresponsible and subpar service. Why are no-star and/or negative-star ratings not an option? read more

In Texas, all the major cities have an abundance of Boba spots. In Kansas, you have a small amount, but they will not fail you. Ding Tea, thank you for existing and providing amazing services. We came in the evening, and it was somewhat packed. With people studying and to relax, the line was a bit longer than I have seen. The services were perfect, from simple "hey" to making sure everything tasted right. We got our drinks within 5-8 minutes, and we got seats right after we order. So despite the rush, we were able to get everything and get settled within 3-8 minutes. The place was vibrant and simple with decors. It was not over the top but just enough to make you feel as if you are home to making you think you are in a lounge area to chill with your friends. The tea was probably the best, I got a simple Passion Fruit Mango tea, and the sweetness was at 50%. I should have added more sugar, but it was sufficient enough to keep me satisfied. My friends all got a variety of tea which all had the right amount of flavors and was not heavy. This is a must-try place if you ever crave boba, you will not be disappointed. read more

I think this is the best Bubble tea spot in KC so far, and I've tried pretty much every spot in the Metro so I think my opinion holds a bit of weight. It's a decent interior. Nothing too special but all that matters is that there's some seating, air conditioning, and some space. It checks off all those boxes. Service was straightforward, nothing to comment here. They do orders by numbers here. Prices are standard for bubble tea and I believe it's just one size only here which is definitely fine by me. I've had 4 drinks so far from this place. I've had the classic Thai tea. It's the best I've ever had in the KC Metro area with just the right amount of sweetness and tea flavor. I've had both Brown Sugar and Brown Sugar Latte. The Brown Sugar Latte is probably their signature drink. It is gorgeous to look at, very picturesque. MAKE SURE TO MIX IT. If you don't, the brown sugar collects at the and it's way too overpowering when you get down to the last 1/4 of the drink. Finally, the classic Winter Melon. It's probably getting to be my favorite flavor I'll test out at different tea spots. It was not too sweet and some sips had a nice tart fruity flavor that I wasn't expecting. I can't compare it though to other spots as it's the first time I've had it I drive down from the Northland all the way here just to try their flavors. Where do I start? My love for tapioca boba is out of this world and this being less then 3 miles from me is perfect. Not only that but you have easy access to the highway. Although parking is rather limited, it's worth it. My boyfriend got the mango smoothie and I got the Lychee milk tea, both with tapioca and although this deal is most likely because they just opened but they gave us a free 3rd drink. For starters, this place is pretty cool. In my opinion, it's definitely a top tier cafe place to hang out with friends and just relax. The interior on the inside is very modern feeling. The seating is unique and different from other places around the metro. If you're going with a larger party, they have board games on the shelf that you can play with, which is something I've never seen before, which I thought was kinda cool. Speaking prices, they're pretty average for Bubble Tea. The size of the drinks are also fitting of the price as well. I believe they only a one size anyways. Food wise, they have standard options and flavors for Bubble Tea joints. They also offer unique options like "Yakults", Fruit Juices and even a variety of different pastries as well. To sum it up, it's a great little place to stop by. Especially if you're shopping at Oak Park Mall, I recommend going here for your Bubble Tea cravings instead of the overpriced and bland ones in the mall. I had the Passion Fruit Green Tea with Boba and Rainbow Jelly. It was delicious! The boba is different from your typical black boba pearls. Sooo glad there is a decent boba place that isnt too far off on metcalf for people who live more west. This place is definately the better of the menus compared to Kung Fu Tea. Kung Fu doesnt have Jasmine milk, and Fat Bee is just too far. An actual 5 stars total for drinks, my jasmine milk tea was delicious, but I wish for just a bit more tea than milk. 5 for the drink menu, its definately more like the boba shops in LA. 5 for atmosphere, its cozy, a cool hangout spot, and they close late like real boba shops. Only reason I didnt give the actual 5 stars for this review is because the only thing missing, is snacks. Most boba shops have a snack menu with items like popcorn chicken, takoyaki, french fries, etc. Im not sure why the boba shops in KC dont have a snack menu. Came here on their first day of grand opening. Everyone was so nice and helpful, especially it was my first time here! The drinks was made very quick and right to order! This is a good spot close to home for us. If this is your first time here, the staff is knowledgeable on their drinks. I usually ask if any flavors are already sweet so I know how to adjust my sweetness level. My drink for today is the flavor of the day, which is a Pina Colada smoothie, I added boba to it with 50% sugar. I can tell you it's nice and refreshing. Just a drink without the drink drink if you know what I mean. Ambience is good with a feel good chill vibe to it.
