Dim sum is my go to... but we don't have a good one near me in Omaha so when I travel it's the first thing I look for. I've been to ABC multiple times and we always love the food. Get there early there is always a line, but they take your phone number and text you when they have a table ready. Small un-assuming casualrestaurant with sweet servers and fast service. Try the Xiao Long bao they're great we also got streamed shrimp dumplings crispy spring rolls and custard buns. Have to come back to try more things.

Not sure how I don't have a review posted about the ONLY restaurant that carried me through my second pregnancy truth be told. When I say the staff here knows me, when I dine-in to order they pretend to ask what I want knowing it's the same thing every time LOL jk they are doing their job probably hoping I try something new seriously if I could give out an award for consistency this restaurant wins by a landslide. Although, I could write an essay on how amazing this food is I will do my best to compile all of my experiences into one review. I'm the type of customer who looks for 2 things at any business I go to consistency and good customer service. ABC is the true definition of tradition being passed down from one generation to another. From the family working together when you dine in or carry out, to the food ALWAYS tasting the same every single time. The atmosphere is quiet and close, their set up encourages "family style dining". The staples for me that I recommend everyone try at least once: cucumber salad, beef short ribs, abc chicken, Singapore style rice noodle, chicken dumplings, chicken & shrimp fried rice, and the new additions egg & minced beef fried rice! My FAVORITE thing about ABC is that they will accommodate and make things how you want them to be made. If you don't like onions in a dish no problem, they won't be there! If you can't eat shellfish, but still want to try the dish without it, they will make it happen. For the longest time I had an ick during pregnancy where I didn't want my meat to touch my rice (weird I know) but they understood the assignment and happily delivered egg fried rice and now it's apart of the menu this is what Family Cafe's can do that big chain restaurants cannot - I am forever grateful

I think this might be the best Chinese food I've ever had in KC. The only thing I didn't love was the crab rangoon. We sampled several dim sum items and the rest were amazing including soup dumplings, pork potstickers, BBQ por bao buns. We had 2 entrees. The beef chow fun was soooo good. The beef was literally so tender it melted in your mouth. The black bean chicken was fine but next time I'd try something else. Will definitely be back!!!

4 stars because this is the best KC has to offer, but in overall dim sum experience, probably a 3. Mostly gave a 4 because it surprised me that this existed. Water spinach was great and had plenty of garlic. Red bean pastry was perfect to end off the meal. Chicken feet were fine. Shrimp ha kao was also pretty decent. The shu Mai were okay but wished they were a little bit more seasoned. We also got soup dumplings, not pictured, but this was the worst dish of the ones we ordered. It tasted and looked like the pre made dumplings that Costco had made and sold a while back - this was pretty disappointing that it wasn't made fresh in house. Overall though, pretty good service. Not the typical dim sum experience with the carts - you order just with traditional menu. There's enough tables and seating inside with options for circular tables for larger family style dining too.

Food was amazing! There's not a lot of tables inside so it feels pretty crowded, but they're pretty fast!

I love coming here. The food is very authentic Chinese dishes. I love their cucumber side dish and shu mai. My favorite dish of theirs have to be the salt and pepper tofu (so soft inside), chicken wings, and their Peking pork chops along with the fish roe soup. The service is quick so you don't have to wait for your food to come out especially when you are hangry.

I have not found Chinese in Kansas City as good as this. Great service and came out within 10 minutes :)

We were just a bit skeptical when we arrived due to it being in an unassuming location, but me and my daughter both agreed the food is very good! It is very authentic, much more authentic than we are accustomed to at our usual sushi or fusion spots. Service was excellent, they have a very large menu with a ton of dim sum and specialty plate options. They had a good selection of nonalcoholic drinks and several beers to choose from. Food came out very hot and fresh. Really enjoyed the shrimp dumplings in chili sauce, beef and snow, peas, and the shumai.

XO Sauce Seafood Fried Rice-XO Beef Shank Pancake Wrap-

TLDR: Food was mostly mediocre, service was bad. Was excited to try as I saw the restaurant on tiktok. We came in and were seated fairly quick. We ordered about 8 items as this was our first time and wanted to try a good variety. The food: We were served the wrong items initially, so I gave the other table their items. The squid in the Seafood fried rice was very bland and rubbery. The XO Wings tasted like plain fried chicken, which was disappointing as I was expecting salt and pepper flavor. The salt and pepper squid was tender, but the flavor was all salt and the squid was not crispy. The egg tart was soggy. The beef shank pancake was way too sweet, too much hoisin sauce and the portion was small for $10. The beef chow fun was my favorite dish we ordered, it had a good wok hei flavor. The crispy shrimp wonton's were good, very crispy and the flavor was good. The Service: Most of the staff did not speak English (Spanish), so it was hard to communicate. Ran out of water twice and had to wait on the other staff who didnt care to check in and had to wait for the check as the staff all took a lunch break at the same time. When we asked for a box the older asian waitress refused to give us a larger box for some odd reason. She was adamant that we could only get one large box even though we had two full entrees and extra rice to take home. Idk, it was frustrating. Our bill was near $100, why is it taboo to give a large box and why make a big deal over it? Will not be returning and will not he recommending to family, friends or colleagues.

We checked this spot out right at 5:30 on Thursday! It wasn't busy when we arrived but every table was full by the time we left. It's small inside with a counter area for staff to stand behind and a connecting kitchen. It was all clean and well set up. The menu was awesome as it had a ton of variety and photos of every item. The pricing was super reasonable too. We ordered a bunch and left full. It definitely wasn't my favorite dim sum I have had, just didn't taste super fresh and had an almost microwaved flavor. The service was quick but I could tell they wanted us to hurry out and didn't offer any recommendations or chatter. Overall I was happy with the amount of food for the price!

4.5 stars for the restaurant. It is located on the south side of Kansas City. We were searching for restaurants serve dim sum and this one show up. We got the pork and shrimp siu mai to start. It with four. Great to share. The shrimp dumplings we have is a pan fried. I recommend this dish because it does not have in Tampa. The next dish is seafood dumplings, I think is a bit smaller. Taste is there. My wife has the chicken feet and she said is very good too. The next dish is the xiao long Bao. This is good soup dumplings. The only comment I have is the chef's need to separate each dumplings with space and don't let them glued together. The last dish we have is the curry beef puff. I highly recommend this dish. Overall experience is good. Service is fast. Food comes out quick too.

This restaurant has been here a long time and it's the first time I stop in to give them a try. It's a small Chinese restaurant located in Lenexa. I believe they are only open from Thursday to Sunday. They seem to be quite popular. It's was a Sunday afternoon and there was a 15-20 minute wait for a table. Inside tables are very close to each other. Food seem authentic and very good. I would come back to try other dishes again.

Old school Chinese Dim Sum. It's not a big or fancy place but if you're looking for Bay Area style dim sum in KC then this is your place.

When I was a kid it was because I loved Chinese food and this is where my parents would go, and now as an adult it's mostly just nostalgia. Over the years I've found other places I like just as much, and some places in town that do certain dishes better, BUT there is just something about Bo Lings that feels comforting and that je ne sais quoi will certainly keep me coming back. This location in Overland Park is the closest to my house so it's the one we order from the most. They recently got into the delivery game which reintroduced them to me now that I'm in my kid era and very much too tired to strap two little kids into the car to pick up food when I can pay to have it come to me (I know I know kind of lazy but that's life!). At any rate, we ordered from here earlier this week and the moo shu was exactly how I remembered, I love that they make their own pancakes in house and they still are IMO the best ones in town, and the crab rangoon still slaps. Something else I love about Bo Lings is that they do a good job at staying consistent across all locations, which I imagine is not always an easy feat. At any rate, if you are craving Chinese food in OP Bo Lings will not disappoint!

I truly wanted to love Bo Ling, but this was one of the most disappointing dim sum experiences I've…read moreever had. We came as a party of seven and spent roughly $300 on dim sum and additional dishes, giving us a broad look at the menu -- unfortunately, very little of it was enjoyable. The noodle dishes were outright bad. Both the seafood pan-fried noodles and the beef chow fun were so aggressively salty that they were completely inedible. These are staple dim sum dishes that should be comforting and balanced, yet they tasted like someone dumped an excessive amount of salt into the wok, ruining any chance of flavor. The shrimp noodle roll was especially shocking. We ordered three plates, arrived early before the restaurant even opened, and the dishes came out cold -- not lukewarm, not barely warm, but cold. In over 40 years of eating dim sum, I have never been served a cold shrimp noodle roll. This alone speaks volumes about the lack of care or quality control in the kitchen. The char siu bao was equally disappointing. The bao itself was poor quality, and the char siu filling looked old, dry, and unappetizing, as if it had been sitting around far too long. When the egg tarts arrived, it became clear this meal wasn't going to improve -- the crust was underbaked and doughy, completely missing the crispy flaky texture that's expected At that point, it wasn't even worth taking food home. We left without packing anything because so many items were simply not edible. If there was any positive at all it was the har gow and the shrimp and chive dumplings -- the only dishes that met a basic standard. If you decide to come here, those are likely your safest options. The service was very good and attentive, which honestly made the food even more disappointing. Another strange note: this is the first dim sum restaurant I've ever visited that charges for tea by the cup. Everywhere else I've eaten dim sum -- and that includes China, Hong Kong, Macau, Philadelphia, New York, San Francisco, Dallas, and Chicago -- tea is either complimentary or charged by the pot. The tea service here felt oddly executed and out of place. I wasn't expecting high-end dim sum in Kansas, but I was expecting fresh, properly cooked, warm food. We drove many hours specifically to try this restaurant, which made the experience even more frustrating. Overall, despite good service, the food was unacceptable. This visit was a complete letdown, and I would not return or recommend it.

Their menu consists of a lot of dishes, and some are quite unique .. you don't usually see items like bird's nest dishes at most Chinese restaurants around here except for maybe Bolings. Me and my husband visited on a Saturday night around 8 pm and really devoured our meal. The menu can feel a bit overwhelming at first, but you honestly can't go wrong with stir fries at any Chinese restaurant. For appetizers, we ordered chicken egg rolls, which were hefty and filling. For the main course, I ordered the chicken in black bean stir fry, and my husband got the shrimp Kung Pao chicken stir fry. We paired both with steamed rice. The black bean chicken was rich and earthy, with that deep, slightly funky flavor from the fermented black beans. It was very umami, salty and complimented nicely with the fresh, crisp vegetables and well-cooked chicken. I really liked it. The shrimp Kung Pao was spicy and tangy, with perfectly cooked shrimp (the fried shrimp covering was chefs kiss) and crispy veggies. Overall, we really enjoyed the food. The egg rolls were about $4 for two pieces, and the stir fries were around $17+ each. The portions are quite large compared to other places in the area, so the pricing seemed reasonable. For 2 main course dishes your bill could easily reach up to $40. Otherwise, The restaurant was clean, the staff was kind, and service was quick. It also wasn't too crowded when we visited. I would rate the service 4/5, mainly because we had to ask for silverware, condiments, and tissues separately. The food, though, is definitely a 5/5. Highly recommended!
