I ordered a matcha latte with almond milk, but what I received tasted nothing like it. It had a strange espresso-like flavor, i didn't ask for espresso at all?? And i was charged for it after looking at my receipt! And yet somehow this still managed to taste like nothing at the same time. Its watery and simply rushed! For nearly $13, that's unacceptable. If you're charging that much, the drink should at least be made correctly and have some actual flavor. It is poorly made, and it definitely wasn't worth the money. The first Fat Bee Cafe location I tried was the Overland Park location. I was ecstatic when they opened in Lee's Summit. Not only was OP the first Fat Bee Cafe I tried, but it was also the first KC boba experience. I always try to stop in to get their brown sugar boba drink when I'm near. I also love this location because it's near several of my favorite stores, and it's easy to grab and go. Yet, there's enough seating so that you can chat with friends. My review is based solely on the Matcha Milk Tea. I am a matcha drinker, and this drink was a waste of $8. Their grade of matcha is not up to par at all. The drink was watery and the boba at the bottom (brown sugar) I ended up taken out the drink. Honestly, I won't be back. Finally, a decent Boba spot on this side of the Kansas City border! When I first found out that this empty corner location was going to be turned into a Boba shop, I was definitely pumped! Let me tell you, it definitely lives up to Boba standard and if you are having your Boba craving and DON'T want to drive to Johnson County or Downtown, this joint is definitely THE spot! The drinks I have had so far are all fantastic, not too sweet and definitely not bland. The consistency of the drinks and the nice chew of the Brown Sugar Boba will want you coming back for more! The staff is friendly and attentive to your needs and it definitely seems like it is a family owned. The décor and cleanliness of the place is also a plus! And while there's nothing much else to say, I'm glad that this spot is here! This place is definitely a rare gem on this side of town and I hope it will be here for a while! My ONLY complaint for this spot is the sometimes hard to find parking, however if you come at the right time, that can definitely be avoided! This place is tricky to fine because it's in a corner next to Macy, anywho this place is busy, very busy so know what you want before getting to the cashier. OMG everyone get your butts to this place and order the Créme Brulée Boba Latte asap. It's creamy and decadent but also light and refreshing. I want a barrell full of this concoction in my house. The pearls are brown sugar flavor and add an unexpected twist to the drink where you are chewing and then sipping and now chewing....freaking delicious! No picture included because I'm a pig and couldn't stop drinking it but it looks great too, trust me. I don't know if there's actually any coffee in it but I'm in love. Oh yeah, the place was also nice and hip, super clean and fast service, and people taking your order are nice and helpful. I thought I had left a review on this new gem to come to Lee's Summit. I found it late last year and have purchased many of their boba milk teas and some other teas. The teas are well made, but I especially love the creme brulee boba tea. In the past they had made some really good waffles. The berry waffle was my favorite until today. Today, I not only purchased some tea, which was fine but the waffle was not what they had made before. Let me explain. Previous times I was paying $6 for a waffle that was larger than eight inches, with berries and the whip cream, all very good, until today. Today, fortunately before I headed home, I opened the box the waffle came in and this is because it was a relatively small box. The reason? It was a barely 3 inch waffle. Seriously! I returned to the store and discussed this with them, and of course I couldn't understand their explanation. It seems, as I tried to dissect what they explained, that they didn't have enough batter or mixture? Whatever the reason, they should have been upfront and honest about the situation instead of ripping me off. I decided to get the standard offering of a brown sugar boba latte. It was delicious and while sweet it wasn't too sweet, as long as you give it a good mix before drinking! The boba were nice and warm yet the drink was iced! Very delightful. There was a large selection of offerings and they even had almond milk and oat milk if you don't like the dairy. Absolutely delicious boba tea! Not too sweet, but not bitter. I love the brown sugar boba, and the popping mango boba is very good as well. Great service too. It didn't take very long to get our drinks, even though it's a Saturday and everyone is out and about. Amazing place and amazing thanks to the employees they are so understaffed and people are such dicks to the situation if there is only 2 people working and they have a sh*t ton of drinks to make you need to understand that it's going to take a while. Appreciate them and tip because they are trying their hardest to provide you with what you walked in for in the first place. You need workers in order to get what you want so be appreciative.
