Biscuit and gravy
Sarah G.

You know there are tons of places like Snooze all over these days. They tend to be bright, have big brunch menus, be able to accomodate bigger groups, and are a destination for families on the weekends. It's no surprise to me that Snooze hails from Colorado, which has also brought KC some great brunch gems such as Denver Biscuit Co. and Urban Egg, though this spot for sure has its own unique identity. For some reason Colorado seems to know how to do breakfast, and I'm not complaining. While this Snooze location has been open for a hot minute I've been dragging my feet on getting over here. Why you may ask? Largely because it always seems to have a wait and I have little kids on a schedule. This all changed for me though over a long weekend when I thought oh, I bet they might be able to get us in since it's a Monday. Snooze uses the live wait feature on Yelp which I love and I could see there was no wait when we left the house. When we got there folks were starting to file in but we got seated quickly, and the server (probably seeing that we had a baby in tow) thoughtfully seated us further away from the door since it was a frigid morning and air was wafting in as the place filled up with diners. The food was above average for this kind of brunch spot, though nothing crazy. What really moved Snooze into the five star category for me was the bright retro designed interior, paired with good food, and then topped off with some all star service. Everyone was SO nice and when we left there was a long wait despite it being a Monday. Overall, I really enjoyed this spot and I know we'll be back as our kids did too!

Omelet with a salad. The Tajin on the avocado was new.

Got there, said 40 min wait for a table. Table was ready in 5 minutes! Service was a bit slow, took a while to get the drink orders. For the food, its alright. Nothing mind blowing to which I would have minded not finishing my meal.

This was my first time coming here, and omg the food was soooo good. I got the Spuds Deluxe because I love hash browns. I don't like eggs very much, but ended up trying them scrambled on my dish, and they were very acceptable. Genuinely one of the best breakfast dishes I've ever had. Our server, Sheremie, was very friendly and helpful in suggesting how I should have my eggs. Everyone liked their food. I like the nice, open layout and bright, colorful furniture and decor.

Super cool retro themed breakfast spot. Came on a Thursday morning and it was empty so we got to talk one on one with the staff and have a good time. Drinks came out quickly, the vanilla almond matcha latte was very tasty, not too grainy or plain. Normally I'd add sweetener but it was just right. I got the egg white veggie scramble with a chicken patty which was really good. I prefer to eat a light and nutritious breakfast and this was just perfect. The chicken patty was nicely seasoned and the eggs were cooked well. Wasn't a fan of the sauce but it wasn't needed at all. Also got to try the pork belly fried rice which was very savory and smooth. I was expecting a spice but it was just, almost buttery, and went down easy. I'd prefer that more for a brunch time. I wouldn't definitely come back to try some of their boozy breakfast drinks as well as their pancakes!

Great food, solid drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic..... The service is always great and so is the food.

Despite it being a chain, I freaking love snooze for their menu. It's expansive and literally everyone can find something for them. Super friendly with allergies, needs--there's an option for everyone. Service was friendly. I love that they have a waitlist online that you can put yourself on. They don't seat unless everyone is there though.

Whipped Cottage Cheese Bowl

THE NEW WHIPPED COTTAGE CHEESE BOWL IS A MUST! Tried this on a whim and I'm fully hooked--this might be my new favorite thing on the Snooze menu. It's fresh, flavorful, and somehow manages to be light but still super satisfying. The whipped cottage cheese is creamy and tangy, and the combo of cucumbers, roasted tomatoes, avocado, prosciutto, and arugula just works. I also added some green onion for a good onion bite! Only complaint? I need more bread! The ciabatta it comes with is perfect for scooping, but three pieces is not enough when the bowl is this good. Snooze, please start offering a "double bread" option--your girl is trying to enjoy every last bite properly. Already planning to come back for this again... and again.

Food is amazing. Service was top notch. The vibes of everyone working and the patrons was a breath of fresh air.

What a fun corporate concept. I love the Sixties space crazed retro feel. I love the fun menu, too - even if biscuits and gravy didn't make the cut. (Check out the Bennies and the Pineapple Upside Down Pancakes!) Service was fantastic. Our waitress was calm, patient and happy to provide info and suggestions. I'm glad she was there.

Snooze is the epitome of what every breakfast place should be, IMO! Fresh new takes on all the classics with great texture and flavor pairings in every dish! I opted for the SWEET POTATO & VEGGIE SMASH UP - Two smashed and griddled sweet potatoes dressed with pickled onions and our asparagus, red onion, & mushroom salad. Topped with avocado, a poached cage-free egg and hemp seeds. Drizzled with our house-made Snooze Sriracha maple syrup. DIVINE! I don't do much sugar in the morning, and didn't want a heavy meal - this was satisfying and delicious! Paired it with a simple cappuccino and I was SET! Friends explored the Bloody Mary (with bacon, $1.50 or $2 extra...), and an Espresso Martini - they sang their praises!

The Snooze Classic*
Laura M.

Had a great time with friends- wait times are the main downfall of Snooze, otherwise it's always a fantastic experience-- we all agreed that the Pork Belly Fried Rice was the winner this trip! The wheat toast and jam was also a surprising win! Ray was also a very knowledgeable and fun server :)

The Snooze Classic* with Strawberry Shortcake Pancakes

recently tried this electric brunch spot over the weekend with my best friend and it was pretty good! our server was sweet and attentive, food came out with a decent wait time and food was tasty, the strawberry shortcake pancake is a must try it was nice and fluffy while also being the perfect balance of sweet and savory with the hashbrowns bacon and eggs. they have outdoor seating which is always a plus in my books.

Pork Belly Habenero Benedict, Pepper and maple syrup Bacon.

Food - great Service - great Ambiance - bright natural light everywhere. Had to try the "Double Bacon Sandwith". - aka just the name alone causes salivation. Brioche bun (soft though), Gruyere cheese,Snooze's special thick bacon, habanero pork belly, over medium egg, Dijon vinaigrette, (Tiny bits of) arugula, pickled red onions.  Served with a side of slather-able Sriracha maple aioli, bread & butter pickles. Their Habenero Benedict is addictive enough without this coming into the ring and punching above it's class. OMG the combination of flavor between the bacons (PLURAL!!!) and the onions and the aioli (option for you) and the pickles.......YUMMY IN MY TUMMY!!! Aka "GET IN MY BELLY" Plus their hockey puck o hash browns (you can order them xtra crispy too!!) with either ketchup, Siracha, Tobasco or/and the bird green sauce they have..... This with a coffee and a bev o' your choice......for me at least = FEAST of the DAY!!!

We were seated on time at a table next to the bar-side of the dining room. Speaking of the dining room, it's a nice, if standard size for a strip-mall space, but I really appreciated that the tables were not stacked on top of each other, as seems to be the case at more and more places these days. It felt like there might be some chance of our entire conversation not being completely overheard by our neighbors, which was nice for a change! Our waitress was fantastic! She walked us through the menu, the restaurant's approach to cooking and seasonality, some of her faves, and made wonderful recommendations! We decided to split a few small plates, which was a great approach! We got to try about 1/3 of the small plate menu, and loved it all! It was all great, but the Black Cardamom Burnt Ends are NOT to be missed! It made my cardamom-loving, Midwest soul very, very happy indeed! The space is a really nice size - not massive or overwhelming - and with the shades drawn down (to seal out the late afternoon sun, thank goodness!) and dim lighting, the mood vibes were solid for a romantic anniversary dinner! The other ambiance item of note is that the restroom corridor smelled absolutely fantastic! Upon investigation, it was due to a burning candle from a lovely local-KC company that was custom made for the restaurant! Yes, they're for sale, and yes, we picked up two! While everything was lovely and the food was very good, you're definitely paying a high price for it. Not that it's not deserved, but the "value" feels aren't necessarily "off the charts", by any means. And that is really my only critique, if there is any at all! Food = 5/5 Facility = 4/5 Service = 5/5 Ambiance = 4/5 Value = 3/5

At BRKTHROUGH, you compete in challenge rooms (there are 40 of them, although a couple were unavailable during our visit) - they last a minute or longer, and are categorized as Physical (requiring speed, agility, coordination, etc), Mental (brainpower, trivia, memory, and puzzle-solving), or Skill (precision, dexterity, patience). The descriptors above came from the BRKTHROUGH website, but I can confirm that they are descriptive of the challenges. The room type/difficulty is shown on a triangle, so they are often a combination of two items (for example, mostly physical with some skill-based components). Every room is scored based on your completion (or lack, thereof) out of 100 points. You can redo rooms as often as you like, keeping the highest score. Your team has an RFID wristband to enter the rooms. Your goal is to earn as many points as you can during the time period you paid for (we did 2 hours). Not only do you try to get your best score, there is a leaderboard to show how you are doing against the other teams in the building. You can earn a prize if you obtain a certain minimum score, or win against the other groups. Other than the boys arguing over strategies, we had a good time. Even with young kids, we were able to complete a lot of the rooms. There are plenty of rooms that could be completed by those with physical limitations, but obviously not all of them. Their physical menu only had drinks, but there was a QR code that showed a more comprehensive menu, such as other alcoholic drinks, non-alcoholic drinks and small plates. We all ordered different drinks, and I got the Matronae's Blessing. My drink was tequila and vodka based with white tea shrub, lychee, soda, and lychee pâte de fruit, which is a traditional French jelly candy. Among all the drinks I tried, mine was the favorite of the night. The lychee really shined through, the soda was refreshing, and the pâte de fruit was the best surprise - chewy, sweet, and bursting with lychee flavor. Sadly, I don't have a photo of the drink, but I will be back to order this again! Aside from the great drinks, the bar itself is beautiful. The three arches behind the main bar holding the liquor are brightly lit around the edges to have a glowing effect, the bar table has light underneath that accentuate the dark green/blue color, and the rest of the bar is dimly lit to let the details really shine. You bet we did a mini photoshoot once all the other patrons left. The servers were not only great at making drinks, but they were kind enough to take some group photos for us! I'm used to Jack Stack Barbecue-level au gratin, and this wasn't even close. Overly cheesy, heavy, and just not good.
