Brunch was absolutely fantastic this morning! It was so busy so I definitely recommend putting in a reservation. We had the best server and he knew the menu inside and out. The girls at the front were super kind as well. It was jam-packed, but my friends and I had a fun time. We will definitely be coming back! read more

I was super impressed with this! We came here for a Father's Day breakfast with a large group and everything was great. Our server was awesome at attending to us and refilling coffee, water, etc., and our food came out fast and hot! I ordered the Colorado Benedict and fell in absolute love - I highly recommend if you like Denver omelets! I'm going to have a hard time choosing something else when we come back. We used to come to Eggtc a lot when it was at this location, but we're very happy with the new owners' takeover! If you're looking for a new brunch spot in Shawnee, look no further. From the coffee creations, the delicious seasoned potatoes, and even the fruit bowls, you'll find something here for everyone. read more

Rize N Shine - Colorado Benedict with Potatoes - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Shawnee, Kansas

Stopped into Rise n' Shine for brunch on a Tuesday and had a great overall experience. We were seated and greeted quickly, which is always a plus. The menu is large but easy to navigate, and the prices felt pretty average for the area. I ordered the avocado toast ($12.99), and it was bigger than expected--in a good way. The bread was perfectly toasted and piled high with avocado, thick slices of mozzarella, tomatoes, and a nice drizzle of balsamic. It also came with two eggs and a choice of side; I went with the fresh fruit, which was a great complement. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The only drawback was the limited staff. Our waiter was fantastic, but he was clearly stretched thin--handling seating, bar duties, takeout orders, and multiple tables all at once. It was a bit much for one person and did lead to longer wait times across the board. Hopefully, this was just a one-off situation, because the food and service quality were definitely there. I'd absolutely come back again. read more

Rize N Shine - Avacado Toast - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Shawnee, Kansas

This spot, hidden away in a nondescript strip mall in Shawnee, can really cook up breakfast. There's plenty of choices - sweet, savory, skillets, sandwiches, South of border dishes, Bennies, chicken fried steaks and a lot more. A few lunch options are available, too. All served by an enthusiastic and welcoming staff. It's a busy place. Please be prepared to wait at peak times. read more

The huevos benedicto was DELICIOUS!! I ordered and had my plate in front of me in less than 10 minutes. Food was HOT and my coffee mug was kept full. Heidi was my waitress she was kind and made sure to check on me even though I was dining alone. Loved the cozy setting, would highly recommend! read more

We decided to try out this local restaurant for breakfast this morning. The parking lot was quite packed and there was a wait, but only 10 to 15 minutes. The hostesses were nice and they actually got us in sooner since we were willing to sit at a high top. Our waiter was nice and he came over right away and asked for our beverage order. He answered some questions about the menu and I specifically asked about gluten issues. My husband got a skillet that he really liked, but I just had corn beef hash in it instead of the typical item in it. Their skillets do not come with a side, which I feel like they should offer toast or fruit at least. Most places I've been always offer a side dish. I ordered two eggs, pork, sausage, gluten-free toast, and grits with butter and maple syrup. It took a while for the food to come out, but it was good once it came out. I enjoyed everything and so did my husband. It's a casual restaurant and a little bit louder because it was packed and they did have quite a few TVs playing, but without the sound. They had a variety of beverages, including mimosa flights. We would go back again. read more

Wait time was pretty minimal considering it was a late Sunday morning. The hostess took my phone number and said it would be a 10-15 minute wait--if it was, it didn't seem like it. :) Casual dining and the noise level was decent enough to hear my friend across the table. (I was informed this used to be called Eggtc., & that the menu changed slightly). Our waiter, Luis, was awesome! I got the Farmers Friend as an omelette--pretty good--my brain wants to say: "yeah, but I can make this at home and it would cost less..."--true, it would, but it was nice not to have to cook, as well as spending time with a friend. I also ordered the Mexican-Spiced Mocha, hot. Yum! read more

I went here for a morning breakfast/ catchup with a couple of close acquaintances. One of the people I came with is a regular for the past 5+years at Rise N Shine and meets here weekly for a Tuesday morning breakfast with old friends. The breakfast and lunch place gave homey, family-friendly, and easy-going vibes. The staff knew the regulars by name and their orders without any hesitation, which gave me the feeling they get to know each customer personally. Our server was helpful and constantly willing to help me with any modifications to the menu item I ordered. Our order came out kind of fast for a place that had a flow of customers coming in and out on a Thursday morning. I left happy and satisfied with the healthy option off menu. My friends didn't leave their plate with a scrap of food on them. I definitely would say this is a place to try, but it wouldn't be a place that I need to come again to try anything else off the menu you. read more

My server was very kind and patient as I could not decide what I wanted with all the tasty things in the menu. I decided on getting a turkey wrap and coffee. Both were great and the fries were delicious. I will definitely be back to try the mimosa flight. They also have a lot of items on the a la cart menu that could be added to a meal. Don't skip over the cream cheese options. The space was a bit crammed but I was able to have a conversation and they have a lot of seating areas including a bar. read more

Food - very tasty options Service - excellent Ambiance - loud but cozy cafe 1st time here around 3/2025 since the name change from EggEtc. Had a very yummy Mexican coffee with cinnamon and chocolate. Tacos on Sunrise - $10.49 (surely subject to change, and don't call me surely) Scrambled eggs, Monterey jack and cheddar, black beans, jalapenos, onions, tomatoes and avocado slices (about 3 maybe) with three corn tortillas. A good helping of sour cream, and their in house made warm salsa hit the spot! Warning - IF you have a small stomach, THEN you may be full after 2 tacos with the eggs etc (pun). tortillas with a side of fire roasted salsa, sour cream and lettuce. read more

We really enjoyed our breakfast today at RiseNShine. The service was friendly too. There is a full bar, with lots of options for seating, with tables and booths and the decor was inviting. I had the Mile High omelette which was excellent and came with your choice of 2 sides. I chose hash browns (lots of options) and a croissant for my bread (again lots of options to choose from). The portions were large and very reasonably priced. We will definitely make this one of our regular stops for breakfast! read more

Another great meal and wonderful service today. Hubby and I watched Big Boy, the world's largest steam engine go by on its trip across Kansas this morning and decided to grab breakfast afterward. Rize and Shine is always a solid option. Hubby went with the Rize and Shine, and I had two slices of French Toast with a side of scrambled eggs. We enjoyed our meals and our server kept our coffee full and warm. The setup in the restaurant has 3 distinct dining areas, so each space seems more intimate than a larger open space would, and also keeps the noise level down. If you're looking for a good breakfast spot that you can carry on a conversation without yelling, give Rize and Shine a try. read more

Same space that used to be the artist better known as eggtc., but now has been rebranded and reborn as Rize N Shine. They're still serving breakfast each day along with a lunch-ish part of the menu and a great array of adult beverages from the full bar. The menu has been retooled somewhat with some new additions. The breakfast cocktails range from mimosa through Bloody Mary, with some nice twists in between. Breakfast still is the core offering with some solid specialities such as Eggs Benedict, build-your-own omelets, biscuits & gravy, and more. I'm a big fan of their griddle game, whether it's a stack of sweet cream pancakes or an artisanal waffle dish. The pancakes are super fluffy and disappear quickly. Pro tip: if you can afford the *real* maple syrup, then do so and thank yourself. Service is friendly and quick and there is almost always a 'runner' staff on hand to deliver from kitchen to table. Pricing is pretty attractive (a stack of 3 pancakes is only $9 and the value is higher) and the atmosphere is busy but not chaotic. Given the proximity to youth ballfields, there is a good chance that you'll see families with sluggers grabbing a weekend meal, so the place gets filled. The staff does a great job of moving the line at busy times and the kitchen keeps up nicely. Great neighborhood spot! read more

I was pleased to have gone again to R&S as my salad was a good size for the smaller version. I found that the undercooked hash brown my Husband ate was less than the "extra" crispy version he originally requested. He did not send it back. We were sat near the coffee bar, that also was the entrance with a second entryway that left for a sever draft in the restaurant. I had to keep my coat on, and the draft was unpleasant. The service in both occasions was wonderful. read more

First time there. I wished they had more sandwich selection. For the brunch crowd. Not really a breakfast person. Had a smoothie it was good and filled me up. Others in the group had delicious looking food. Could not tell how busy they were we were in a room off the main area. Service was good. read more

From the moment you walk in until the time you leave every staff member is courteous and friendly. All staff members work well as a team to serve the customers. Our server Chava, did a wonderful job tending to our table. The menu offers a nice selection of food and beverages. As always the food was delicious and arrived quickly after being ordered. Portion sizes are very generous and we always seem to bring part of it home with us. The entire dining area always seems to be friendly, welcoming and very upbeat. A personal favorite is the Mexican spiced mocha served ice cold during warmer months or hot in the cooler ones. read more

I hadn't been in for several years. They have a new owner who was very kind. Sat at the bar which was great as was the service. The food was amazing. The best breakfast/brunch spot in JoCo. The food is terrific and the service is great. It's in Shawnee, and now that the Midland Drive exit off I-435 is open again, it's so easy to access. It's always extremely clean, and the atmosphere is great. read more

Great food and excellent service! We have eaten here several times and always had good experiences.

Food was fine, thats where the good news stopped. I ordered to a person who didn't want to write it down. Said he "had it!" Obviously he didnt! But once the food was delivered (which he didnt do) I never saw him again until it was time to pay! No "how is everything," or "how is everything tasting." Nothing! Paid the bill sitting there we weren't finished with our coffee a member of the staff came over and said we dont want to kick you out but we need your table for a larger party. Aggressive and non apologetically. Get out. We will never be back! read more

Love this place. It's one of my few go to places in KC Area and is conveniently located for easy highway access. The food is always good and the managers Heidy and Ana always greet me with a smile and treat the customers with kindness & compassion.
