Friendly staff. Good food and drinks. Loud as usual, possibly due to acoustics. Ordered an appetizer and our meal. The appetizer came out quickly, but as we were enjoying it, our entre's arrived, within 5 minutes. So here we are with a table full of delicious food. The food brings us back again and again.

Staff didn't really come by and check on us and it was a little wait between chips and salsa before anyone came and got our order. Food was hot when it came out, flavors were okay. Watch out for the water fountain in the middle of the restaurant that watching several people almost tripped over.

Dos Reales may become one of my favorite places to enjoy an authentic Mexican restaurant in the greater Kansas City area. We enjoyed a great lunch before going out to the Shawnee Mission Lake! At this restaurant, you are served complimentary chips and two salsas: one thick and one cantina style. We also started with some queso dip! For lunch, I ordered the Enchilada & Tamale Combination and my partner ordered a Chicken Chimichanga. We both left happy and full! If you are in the Shawnee area and craving some Mexican food, Dos Reales is the spot to check out! The service was quick and attentive. We were able to sit on the patio. This restaurant has exposed style dining on nice days too!

I've been coming here since 2010, as crazy as it sounds this was the first authentic Mexican food I ever had. Over the years the quality of the food and management has changed drastically! I came here for taco Tuesday and after what I experienced I don't think I'll be back no time soon. For starters it took someone just about 15mins to bring us water, then another 15 for salsa and chips. At the point when the server came to the table we gave our order right then and there to avoid waiting another 15 mins to come back, which was crazy because they weren't busy at all. I ordered fish tacos, which are normally amazing! This time around they were meh, they weren't seasoned nor prepared how there usually are. The cheese steak burrito which is another staple of their's was a disaster, the cook just couldn't seem to get it right. Not sure if he was new but it was a no go. I'm all for giving second chances I do recommend coming here, when the food is prepared right the food is actually really really good!

Excellent restaurant. Service is fast. Decor is nice. Good family restaurant. We have eaten here any time we are in the mood for Mexican, which is often! Restaurant is clean with lots of TVs for the sports. You get two salsas, a chunky and a blended. Both delicious and fresh. Anything with their shredded chicken is always juicy, well seasoned and delicious. Their margaritas are just fine. I normally just get a house margarita and it does the trick but of course they have the fancy margaritas too. This time I got the burrito bravo. My husband got the taco loco salad. Both were delicious and fresh. We've gotten their fajitas before too. Also delicious and enough food for 2.

I came here upon a recommendation from a coworker. I was hesitant about coming due to a prior review on here that had a picture of a roach. I figured that was years ago and truly could have come from anywhere. I came during my lunch hour on a Friday. I initially attempted to order ahead of time and they were clearly having phone issues. I went ahead and call the Overland Park store who had no clue as to why their Shawnee location was having phone issues. She was very uninterested. Anyways the online menu was not very helpful as I was not sure if the tacos were hard or soft. Flour or corn. I drove over and they were not busy. I went to the bar and ordered the tacos and queso. The queso came highly recommended. It's very good and can easily be enjoyed in large quantities. The chips are really good. The portions are generous. The tacos were good. The rice and beans were very delicious. My favorite was the queso and chips. The price was expensive. Especially for lunch. However, since it was a large portion of food, I was able to share it with my husband and bring it home. The queso is $5 and the tacos with rice and beans was $17. The environment was nice.

Great restaurant. Food was decent but I really liked the atmosphere and the decorations. There was a cute fountain where you can throw coins in! A bit overpriced but it's a Mexican Restaurant in Shawnee so I wasn't surprised. I got the Ceviche and was a little disappointed due to lack of flavor and lack of shrimp. I was expecting larger shrimp pieces as well as chopped up avocado and cilantro etc... but it was just a mediocre version of that. Our waiter was nice!

Never had a bad meal here! I've tried and loved the fajitas, the chili colorado, multiple enchiladas, rellenos, and on and on. My favorite is the good old number 5, which is an enchilada, a taco, rice and beans. The service is always fast and friendly, and they are just wonderful.

It gave an option for dining with a group of people or simply dining alone. We arrived around 1pm on a week day, so just after the lunch rush which was perfect. The food was made fresh, I've always wanted to try the barria taco but no one seems to offer anything but a beef option. And finally, I found a chicken one. It was Delish !! Now I couldn't dip in the au just because it was beef but I appreciate having the option. The Mexican rice was light and flavorful. The queso was good however it stiffened up pretty quickly, just in case you feel the anxiety of choosing between. Your appetizer and the main costs course. Over all, a great experience for a late afternoon lunch. Check out it when your craving tacos, I don't think you'll be disappointment.

Walking in you'll find it's a very bright, cheerful atmosphere, very clean, with about ten tables (I think), and two tv's playing Spanish music. The people are nice and very efficient. Chef Joseph is phenomenal. He was manning the register when I went in. I'd never been to a Mexican & Salvadoran restaurant before. I'm familiar with Mexican American food, a little bit with truly authentic Mexican, and not at all with Salvadoran. Chef Joseph came out from behind the counter and sat at my table explaining the menu to me, the dishes, the flavor profiles. He gave suggestions on what order based on what I told him I liked. I got one of the combo dishes mainly because it offered a variety of proteins and side dishes. I also saw several more items in the menu that I knew I wanted to try on my next visit. The food was delicious! I surprised myself by finishing the whole plate. I was also delighted to find La Cocina De Mary had atole. It's a traditional cold weather drink made with masa harina, milk, and spices. My tia made it when I was a kid, so there's fond memories. This one was better ... and lucky for me tia isn't on Yelp and will never read this. They have soft drinks and a few alcohol drinks that I may try next time. The one that's a bloody mary except with beer instead of vodka sounded interesting. Next time I go, I'm taking FPO with me. This is a great little place and I hope they're there for a long time to come.
