Flautas platter.
Dawn C.

Delightful place that tries hard. Benjamin and staff are ON IT. Expect super fast service and prompt food from the kitchen. Huge seating area with lots of booths but also plenty of room to accommodate bigger groups. The flautas platter was a little lean with just three flautas (I mean a similarly priced double burrito platter would have a ton more food) but they were tasty. Carne asada platter had an orange colored seasoning on it, we had hoped for a flavor closer to street tacos carne asada, but it wasn't bad. Lots of onions. Just 3 flour tortillas. Chips (the thicker crunchier kind) were bottomless and served with a non-spicy red salsa. Margaritas on the rocks were outstanding! 3 to 6 each day they are just $3.99 so that's a big win.

Chips and delicious salsa!

My first time there was yesterday. Meals come with a great tasting salsa with lots of cilantro and garlic. It looks like after it's cooked it has finely chopped fresh tomato added. Homemade chips too. The carne asada was a thinly sliced steak with onions and mushrooms and is served with pico, sour cream, guacamole and your choice of flour or corn tortillas. It also comes with a good size portion of beans and rice. My wife had a cheese quesadilla that came with cheese cooked in but also soft white cheese drizzled over the top and was a big quesadilla with the other half of the plate covered with fries. Great service and very few customers due to restrictions with Covid. Staff wore masks and it was great and I highly encourage you to go to this great place!

Chicken fajitas, Texana fajitas, strawberry daiquiri, guacamole, beans, chips & salsa. All so good!!!

The service is always top notch! The quality of the food and drinks is always consistent! Excellent food and service every time I go!!! Hidden gem in Grandview!

I just flew in from Phoenix and found this Mexican restaurant and I have to say the chips and salsa are wonderful. I ordered the chimi chicken dinner with their cheese sauce and it was perfection. I will be back before I leave. The staff are very friendly and attentive. You need to give this place a try.

First experience with a Molcajete bowl. It was very good and two of us could not finish it. It was filled with steak, chicken, shrimp, chorizo, avocado, grilled pepper, cactus tongue and queso cheese chunks. We also shared the pork burrito. It came in big roasted chunks also in a verde sauce. Their roast is moist and tender. Their staff is always friendly and the restaurant is spotless.

As you can see this is the fajita plate picked almost clean. We were stuffed and loved every bite.

I had heard the buzz about this place for a couple of months. Often I found myself angry at my…read morefriends who don't share the goodness about hole in wall joints that are amazing (kidding). I went in with average expectations. The place is essential a Mexican sundries shop with a kitchen. One thing I love is the vibe when you walk in, it has that small town, tons of products everywhere, overwhelming feel- I kinda like that. I ordered 2 tacos (was planning to get 6) and a Torta. The torta (a Mexican sandwich) grabbed my attention because it occupied 5/6 of the menu slots so I thought "this must be their thing." All were ordered carne asada (steak) even though I'm dying to try their al pastor (pork/pineapple). They have several salsas that come on the side (maybe 4-5) - I got the mild green one and the medium red one. NOW the first bite of asada taco: it was GOOD. I tried it again, VERY GOOD. It comes topped with standard cilantro/onion on a nice soft corn tortilla that has just a bit of crisp (gah so good!). The meat is INCREDIBLY flavorful. Like "don't let a small piece get away" flavorful. The must marinade it beforehand and then season while cooking. One thing I can't stand is under-seasoned food, this is NOT that. I couldn't believe it. The church i attend is right down the road from this place and I've never been. I'm kicking myself.... The Torta was VERY good as well. The bread was soft and delicious. The toppings were all fresh. It wasn't dry because they add a seasoned mayo to the bread that mixes with the fresh avocado and salty asada. It was so so good. The salsas added spice and acid that really complimented the food. They were hot; the medium salsa I'd classify as a hot salsa. Very tasty. Not for the faint at heart. I also routinely eat medium/hot spicy food so I'm no light foot on the heat scale. All in all I highly recommend. I will be back, with friends.

I got my food pretty quick so didn't mind the service at all. No seating inside though. Hard to find and not really close to anything else, but I would definitely go back if I was craving a torta. Got my food quick and paid a fair price!

The service was okay! Nothing super special but they answered questions and were helpful at the counter. This was our first time here so we ordered a few things to sample and share amongst ourselves. The first thing we had was the chips and queso, which I thought was a bit expensive at $7.99 but not too bad. The queso was fairly spicy but otherwise nothing special. I usually love queso so it surprised me how neutral I felt toward it! The chips were good, thin and light with a crispy bite to them. We unfortunately didn't get to try the salsa, noticing only at the end of our meal that there was a sauce bar near the counter! The birria tacos were also...okay. They were very juicy but not very uniquely flavored compared to everything else we tried. The meat was tender and I loved the texture of the tortilla, but didn't care for the massive handful of cilantro dropped on top of everything on the plate. The dipping liquid (birria sauce?) was alright! It was the same flavor as the tacos themselves so it didn't add much, but it definitely wasn't bad. The "main course" of what we ordered was a combo of soft chicken tacos, rice, and beans. The chicken tacos were unfortunately very cold by the time we got them which was a bit strange, as almost everything else was hot! They tasted good but I'm really not a fan of eating cold chicken, so I passed them off to my friends. The beans were just okay. There's really not much to say about them. The rice also left me disappointed! I typically devour Spanish rice. Not only was it cold, there were also odd, hard grains of rice mixed in. Not enough to get one every bite but enough that the experience of eating it was off-putting. It was also quite bland. Another note: While we were eating, there was this constant loud droning coming from the air conditioner. I'm a MASSIVE fan of air conditioning so I'm grateful it was on in the first place, but that is something they really need to get fixed. Two women seated near us actually got up and walked outside after commenting multiple times about how disturbing the noise was. My experience here was definitely a mixed bag but it leaned toward the positive, so we'll likely try them again! They had several other menu items I'd like to try, including some American fare that I found intriguing.

It has all the things - steak, shrimp, chicken, onions, bell peppers, rice, jalapeños, shredded cheese and queso. It just hits the spot every single time. Hot and delicious as expected. The hard shell taco is a new item for me. The shredded beef wasn't my favorite and I think I would have enjoyed the ground beef option better so that's what I'll order the next time. The shell was really crunchy and that was my favorite part. The green and red salsas were okay. I was expecting some heat from the red sauce but there was none. I ordered via DoorDash this time but during my visits in the store, the service has been good. The ambiance was nice with colorful Mexican decor and the tunes to match. Would definitely recommend
